Abstract This paper proposes to check the travel target of the dynamic background in the video surveillance with a fixed camera. A travel target detection method based on video picture acquisition and scene semantics for surveillance video was proposed. First, on the basis of combing the concepts and methods of picture recognition, the semantic information of the scene was fused to eliminate the interference factors in the unnecessary detection area. Secondly, a remote sensing picture visual feature representation method containing a semantic recognition method of remote sensing picture scenes and CSIFT features based on PLSA was presented. 10 types of typical remote sensing picture scenes are used for tests, and the visual vocabulary extraction method remains the same. The fixed visual vocabulary was 600, and the potential semantic subjects changes between 8∼50. The test results indicated that the highest average recognition rate was obtained when the latent semantic topics were 20. Inappropriate latent semantic topics will lead to a decline in recognition rates. The effectiveness of this method was fully verified.

Abstract Abstract This study used the consistency-constrained double-difference tomography method to invert 3D fine structure models of Vp, Vs, Vp/Vs at depths above 60 km, and precise relocation parameters of earthquakes in the Bohai Sea. According to the results, the velocity structures of P-wave and S-wave in the Bohai Sea area were highly similar and demonstrated noticeable lateral non-uniformity. The crust beneath the Tanlu Fault displayed a clear stratification structure, with a continuous velocity transition in the middle of the crust. The intricate crustal structure beneath the Zhangpeng Fault displayed high-velocity bodies in the crust and low-velocity anomalous zones connected to the top of the mantle in the lower section of the crust. The structural pattern in the deep crust of the Bohai Sea controls the occurrence characteristics of the Zhangpeng Fault and the Tanlu Fault. The earthquakes in the Bohai Sea area were concentrated mainly in the southern part near the Zhangpeng Fault. There is a good correspondence between the relocated earthquakes and velocity structure. There are many significant differences in crustal structure between the north and south of the Bohai Strait, and there are obvious velocity anomalies in the middle and upper crust. The distribution shape of high Vp/Vs value indicates that mantle material migration has occurred at the bottom of the crust. This paper provided important reference for further research on the relationship between deep tectonic features and tectonic activity in the North China Craton.

Abstract Crude economic development models create severe environmental pressures. Eco-efficiency (EE) is an important basis for evaluating ecological civilization in China. Under the national strategy of ecological priority and green development in China's Yangtze River Economic Belt, the urban agglomerations in the middle reaches of Yangtze River (UAMRYR) was considered as a case study and an evaluation index system of county EE was constructed based on multi-source remote sensing data, the EE values from 2009 to 2018 were measured by a super slack-based measure (Super-SBM) model, the spatial correlations of EE were revealed by an improved gravity model, the spatial network characteristics of EE were portrayed by social network analysis, and the nature of network effects were further explored by multiple linear regression models. Findings of the study included EE has been shown to be indeed spatially correlated. The EE of the nodes, the differences increased, the transmission pattern was relatively stable, and the association was characterized by bidirectional inequity. The spatial network of EE was characterized by small groups, whose tightness was small and increasingly loose overall, and the overall network operation efficiency is low. In terms of the spatial structure of individual network, the Degree Centrality (DC) showed the circle structure, the Closeness Centrality (CC) demonstrated ‘central collapse’, and the Betweenness Centrality (BC) evolved into five ‘core-periphery’ sub-groups from the ‘circle distribution’. Regarding the structural effects, in terms of EE improvement, the UAMRYR nodes were mainly through the agglomeration effect as well as dissemination channels and spillover paths, the core nodes were self-sufficient, and the edge nodes mainly relied on, the radiation role of core nodes, the transmission role of intermediary nodes, and their own active integration and connection roles. This study provides a new perspective for understanding EE and these findings are important for promoting the ...

Abstract Abstract Acoustic scene classification (ASC) is the process of identifying the acoustic environment or scene from which an audio signal is recorded. In this work, we propose an encoder-decoder-based approach to ASC, which is borrowed from the SegNet in image semantic segmentation tasks. We also propose a novel feature normalization method named Mixup Normalization, which combines channel-wise instance normalization and the Mixup method to learn useful information for scene and discard specific information related to different devices. In addition, we propose an event extraction block, which can extract the accurate semantic segmentation region from the segmentation network, to imitate the effect of image segmentation on audio features. With four data augmentation techniques, our best single system achieved an average accuracy of 71.26% on different devices in the Detection and Classification of Acoustic Scenes and Events (DCASE) 2020 ASC Task 1A dataset. The result indicates a minimum margin of 17% against the DCASE 2020 challenge Task 1A baseline system. It has lower complexity and higher performance compared with other state-of-the-art CNN models, without using any supplementary data other than the official challenge dataset.

Abstract This paper investigates system identification algorithms for modal identification of frame structures, such as a suspension bridge and an overhead transmission line-crossing frame, using ambient vibration measurements. The modal identification procedures include two novel blind source separation (BSS) algorithms, complexity pursuit method (CP) and generalized eigen decomposition method (GED), based on modern signal processing technology. Here, the frequency response function (FRF) method is introduced as an important reference to verify the effectiveness of the CP algorithm and GED algorithm. The effectiveness and accuracy of both types of algorithms are verified by numerical simulations and experiments on a suspension bridge. In addition, an engineering application of these two BSS methods is successfully implemented in an overhead transmission line-crossing frame. The results show that the two novel BSS learning rules (CP and GED) are capable of successfully identifying modal parameters of the civil structure under ambient excitation.

Abstract Family farms, considered the most desirable form of Chinese agriculture, play a pivotal role in promoting rural revitalization and agricultural modernization. The purpose of this study was to summarize the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics and influencing factors of family farms to better promote the development of modern agriculture. Using provincial demonstration family farms in the urban agglomeration in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River (MYR-UA) as the research object, this study applied the nearest neighbor index, kernel density analysis, multiscale spatial clustering analysis (Ripley’s K-function), and geographically weighted regression (GWR) model to reveal the spatiotemporal dynamic evolution and influencing factors of family farms. The results indicate that: 1) from 2013 to 2021, family farms exhibited annual increases, and their development stages could be divided into rapid, stable, and slow growth periods. 2) The spatial agglomeration pattern of family farms was significant, and the intercepted points at different time periods show the distribution characteristics of the entire dispersion and local concentration. The spatial evolution characteristics of different types of family farms are nearly consistent with those of the overall family farms. 3) The overall family farms and various types of family farms show a scale effect, which first strengthens and then weakens with the change in geographical distance. 4) The spatial pattern of family farms in MYR-UA is affected by both natural and social factors, of which, social factors had the greatest influence. Finally, based on the findings of the study, policy recommendations for promoting the high-quality development of family farms are proposed.

Abstract Achieving customer satisfaction is an important goal of the high-quality development (HQD) of the hotel industry. The purpose of this study is to summarize the spatial distribution characteristics and influencing factors of the HQD of the hotel industry to better help improve hotel customer satisfaction and realize the HQD of the hotel industry. Taking Sanya as an example, this study applied kernel density analysis, grid analysis and a geographically weighted regression (GWR) model to reveal the distribution characteristics and influencing factors of the HQD of the hotel industry. The research results show that (1) from 2010 to 2020, both budget hotels and luxury hotels showed an increasing trend year by year and the degree of spatial agglomeration was continuously strengthened. (2) The overall HQD of the hotel industry in Sanya is at a medium to high level, but the development between different regions is unbalanced. The HQD level of the hotel industry in the eastern part of the city is better than that in the western region. (3) There are significant differences in the HQD level and its spatial distribution characteristics of budget hotels and luxury hotels. (4) Hardware facilities, price levels, market popularity and traffic conditions have a positive impact on the HQD level of the hotel industry, while hotel scale and business prosperity have a negative impact on the HQD level of the hotel industry. The public service level does not pass the significance test. The conclusions of this study can provide theoretical reference for the decision-making of HQD of urban tourism.

Abstract Researchers have always been concerned about collision risks between ships and structures on busy waterways, as the consequences can be catastrophic. The models for determining the probabilities of these accidents, however, vary widely, with discrepancies between different model results in the same assessment. The models sometimes lack critical elements or are inherently flawed, and therefore do not represent reality. This paper aims to review the existing probabilistic risk models for ship and structure collisions. The advantages and disadvantages of each model are discussed, which leads to a better method for future model development. This paper reviews the existing literature for the probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) between nautical traffic and offshore infrastructures. This paper differentiates the existing models into three categories: statistics of collision rates, statistical models, and simulation models, as the models are evolving from statistical models to simulation models to derive more accurate results. The advantages and disadvantages of the statistical models were evaluated by comparing the details of the elements contributing to risk. Simulation models with virtual autonomous ships can better reflect the reality and include more risk elements than those described in the existing models. The cores of simulation models and the advantages of different models are elaborated and compared, thus supporting future work in this area.

Abstract In the context of continuing to promote the construction of an ecological civilization, it is of great significance to explore green development performance. However, most of the literature is based on a single perspective of level or efficiency, lacking a comprehensive examination of both. It is not scientific to explore how to promote green development only from a single perspective, which may be a new advancement by breaking the conventional thinking focusing only on level or efficiency. On this basis, we first established evaluation index systems of green development performance based on a theoretical framework. Furthermore, green development performance was measured with the entropy weight technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) and super-EBM models, and finally, we analyzed the spatial and temporal evolution patterns of green development performance using the ESDA method and examined its influencing factors with a geographic detector (GD) and econometric models. The main results were as follows: (1) The trend of the green development level in the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2004 to 2017 had an inverted “N” shape, while the overall average green development efficiency continuously increased. (2) In terms of spatial and temporal patterns, both the green development level and green development efficiency showed “high in the east and low in the west” spatial divergence characteristics. In terms of the spatial and temporal evolution pattern of the green development level, the L-L clusters were mainly distributed in the western region. However, for green development efficiency, the L-L clusters were mostly distributed around the H-H clusters. (3) The results of the influencing factor analysis indicated that industrial structure and people’s welfare are still important factors of the green development level. The improvement of green development efficiency was mainly driven by economic development, and the inhibiting effect of energy consumption is significant. In addition, the ...

Abstract High-resolution (HR) remote sensing images have important applications in many scenarios, and improving the resolution of remote sensing images via algorithms is one of the key research fields. However, current super-resolution (SR) algorithms, which are trained on synthetic datasets, tend to have poor performance in real-world low-resolution (LR) images. Moreover, due to the inherent complexity of real-world remote sensing images, current models are prone to color distortion, blurred edges, and unrealistic artifacts. To address these issues, real-SR datasets using the Gao Fen (GF) satellite images at different spatial resolutions have been established to simulate real degradation situations; moreover, a second-order attention generator adversarial attention network (SA-GAN) model based on real-world remote sensing images is proposed to implement the SR task. In the generator network, a second-order channel attention mechanism and a region-level non-local module are used to fully utilize the a priori information in low-resolution (LR) images, as well as adopting region-aware loss to suppress artifact generation. Experiments on test data demonstrate that the model delivers good performance for quantitative metrics, and the visual quality outperforms that of previous approaches. The Frechet inception distance score (FID) and the learned perceptual image patch similarity (LPIPS) value using the proposed method are improved by 17.67% and 6.61%, respectively. Migration experiments in real scenarios also demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the method.
