Abstract This study addresses the effect of high-intensity ultrasonic processing on four oil-in-water systems, using sunflower, peanut, olive and flaxseed oils, respectively, that contained an aqueous D-glucose and glycine Maillard reaction (MR) model system. The MR in the water phase was promoted as observed from higher depletion of reactants and higher amount of MR products (MRPs). A significantly higher amount of pyrazines was generated after ultrasonic processing, particularly in the sunflower and olive oil systems. These promotions were attributed to a well-mixing effect and a localised high temperature and pressure environment generated by the high-intensity ultrasound. However, upon 1 h of ultrasonic processing at 80 °C, a significant increase of oxidation was observed with high peroxide and p-anisidine values in the post-processed oils; meanwhile, the amount of unsaturated fatty acids decreased as well. As a result, some off-flavours were also detected in the post-processed oils, which affected the overall flavour profile of the MR systems.

Abstract With the rapid development of information technology, artificial intelligence has demonstrated great potential in promoting educational transformation. In November 2022, the release of the artificial intelligence product ChatGPT attracted widespread attention, particularly in the field of education, sparking heated discussions among scholars. As a language processing tool, ChatGPT can not only answer user questions but also complete user-specified tasks and even continuously optimize task performance. However, while possessing powerful features, ChatGPT also has some shortcomings that need improvement, such as the accuracy of answering questions, data pollution issues, ethical and safety concerns, and the risk of knowledge plagiarism. In the process of promoting school education reform, the application of ChatGPT brings both opportunities and challenges. Moreover, ChatGPT's emergence offers teachers an opportunity to reflect on their professional value and sets higher demands for them.

Abstract In electro-surgery, surgical smoke was hazard to surgeons and patient in theatre. In order to institute effective countermeasures, quantifying of the effect of tip temperature of electro-surgical unit to surgical smoke distribution in theatre was studied. The relation of tip temperature to power of electro-surgical unit through in vitro cutting experiment. Based on experiment data, the mathematical model was established to simulate the electro-surgery in laminar operation room. As the power of electro-surgical knife increased, the knife tip temperature increased. Total content of (CO, CO2, CH4, NH3) in waste gas and net flow rate of waste gas at outlet increased with the rising temperature of knife tip and formation rate of condensed tar droplets and non-viable particles also increased. Based on simulation, it was found that The maximum height of surgical smoke rising right above the incision of electro-surgical unit was increased with rising temperature of electro-surgical knife tip. There was a spread route of dispersed surgical smoke near the walls of theatre through natural convection. The polynomial fitting relationship was derived. As the tip temperature of knife increased from 200 to 500°C, maximum ascending height of surgical smoke right above the incision position of electro-surgical unit increased from 1.1 m to 1.45 m. When the tip temperature of electro-knife was more 400°C, the CO content in the surgeon's operating zone was more than 200 ppm, which would cause the surgeon's HbCO level increased. As the patient's tissue in the wound during operation was open, when the electro-knife of more than 400°C, the content of condensed tar droplets and in-viable particle was higher than 20 g/m3 and 12 g/m3 in the zone around patient's wound of open tissue, which should be hazard to health of patient.

Abstract This study rigorously examines Project-Based Learning's (PBL) efficacy in augmenting creative thinking within educational frameworks. It investigates PBL's alignment with psychological tenets and cognitive processes to bolster creative capacities. Employing an extensive literature review, the research scrutinizes PBL's psychological and educational merits, project design, student engagement, cognitive growth, and the amalgamation of intellectual and affective elements. Findings reveal PBL's adaptability to cognitive rhythms, its role in amplifying information intake and motivation, and its enhancement of cognitive engagement and dynamic thought application. PBL's versatility aids in customizing education and fostering innovation. The study also addresses educator-led guidance in navigating cognitive obstacles and underscores the significance of merging intellectual and emotional aspects in PBL. It identifies challenges in PBL implementation and suggests avenues for future inquiry. Conclusively, PBL is posited as a potent tool in nurturing student creativity, adaptable to varied learning preferences and styles.
