Abstract Abstract Background Design thinking (DT) competence, a creative problem-solving ability, has been investigated extensively among college students in various professional fields within the western cultures. No instrument, however, is available for assessing DT competence in nursing students, particularly, those in non-western cultures. Objective To adapt and validate the use of Creative Synthesis Inventory (CSI) assessing the four components (i.e., visualization, discovery, prototyping, and evaluation) of DT competence in nursing students in Taiwan. Design Cross-sectional, mixed methodological design combining qualitative and quantitative strategies. Participants A 19-item CSI was administered to a total of 520 nursing students from two campuses of a science and technology university in Taiwan. The data collection was conducted between September 2020 and June 2022. Methods The cross-cultural adaptation and validation of CSI-Taiwan was done in two phases: Phase I included content validity check, translation, and cross-cultural adaptation. Phase II involved pilot testing and psychometric evaluation. Results A first-order confirmatory factor analysis validated the four-component structure, namely visualization, discovery, prototyping, and evaluation, of an 18-item CSI-Taiwan (model fit indices: χ2/df = 3.953, NNFI = 0.942, CFI = 0.956, TLI = 0.947, SRMR = 0.035, and RMSEA = 0.075). A second-order confirmatory factor analysis further indicated that the four components converged on a unitary construct of DT competence (model fit indices: χ2/df = 4.082, NNFI = 0.935, CFI = 0.949, TLI = 0.940, SRMR = 0.040, and RMSEA = 0.080). Moreover, the CSI-Taiwan also demonstrated satisfactory reliability and validity. Together these results validated the construct of DT competence and its components as theorized. Conclusions The CSI-Taiwan was a reliable and valid self-report instrument to be used by Taiwanese nursing students.

Abstract Inter-professional education has become a widespread trend in healthcare education around the world. This study examined whether conflict moderated the correlation between swift trust and creativity for nursing students on teams in inter-professional education courses in Taiwan. A cross-sectional survey study with comparative, quantitative analysis was conducted to describe relationships between the studied variables. This study collected self-report data from 270 nursing students who attended interdisciplinary team-based capstone courses, and this study divided them into 54 teams. Each team consisted of five members. The study results showed cognition-based team swift trust had a positive correlation with team creativity. The negative association was revealed between relationship conflict and team creativity. Moderation models demonstrated that relationship conflict (95% C.I. [−0.70, −0.21]) negatively moderated the correlation between cognition-based swift trust and team creativity among nursing student teams. This research found that greater levels of cognition-based swift trust may enhance nursing students’ team creativity in inter-professional education courses. However, relationship conflicts may limit the positive outcomes of that association. Nursing educators should incorporate conflict management particularly aiming at relationship conflicts into their interdisciplinary nursing courses to support creative outcomes.

Abstract Cross-domain recommendation systems frequently require the use of rich source domain information to improve recommendations in the target domain, thereby resolving the data sparsity and cold-start problems, whereas the majority of existing approaches frequently require the centralized storage of user data, which poses a substantial risk of privacy breaches. Compared to traditional recommendation systems with centralized data, federated recommendation systems with multiple clients trained collaboratively have significant privacy benefits in terms of user data. While users’ interests are often personalized, meta-learning can be used to learn users’ personalized preferences, and personalized preferences can help models make recommendations in cold-start scenarios. We use meta-learning to learn the personalized preferences of cold-start users. Therefore, we offer a unique meta-learning-based federated personalized cross-domain recommendation model that discovers the personalized preferences for cold-start users via a server-side meta-recommendation module. To avoid compromising user privacy, an attention mechanism is used on each client to find transferable features that contribute to knowledge transfer while obtaining embeddings of users and items; each client then uploads the weights to the server. The server accumulates weights and delivers them to clients for update. Compared to traditional recommendation system models, our model can effectively protect user privacy while solving the user cold-start problem, as we use an attention mechanism in the local embedding module to mine the source domain for transferable features that contribute to knowledge transfer. Extensive trials on real-world datasets have demonstrated that our technique effectively guarantees speed while protecting user privacy.

Abstract Abstract Acute hepatic porphyria (AHP) has always been a diagnostic dilemma for physicians due to its variable symptoms. Correct diagnosis mainly depends on the detection of an elevated urinary porphobilinogen (PBG), which is not a routine test and highly relies on the physician’s awareness of AHP. In the present study, we identified a more convenient indicator during routine examinations to improve the diagnosis of AHP. We found that AHP patients showed a significant higher “FALSE” urinary urobilinogen level caused by urinary PBG during the urinalysis when detected by strips impregnated with Ehrlich reagent (P < 0.05). And a remarkable increase in the urinary urobilinogen/serum total bilirubin ratio was observed in AHP patients. The area under the ROC curve of this ratio for AHP was 1.000 (95% confidence interval 1.000–1.000, P < 0.01). A cutoff value of 3.22 for this ratio yielded a sensitivity of 100% and a specificity of 100% to distinguish AHP patients from the controls. Thus, we proved that a “falsely” high urinary urobilinogen level that was adjusted by the serum total bilirubin level (urinary urobilinogen/serum total bilirubin ratio) could be used as a sensitive and specific screening marker for AHP in patients with abdominal pain.

Abstract Background: In the pursuit of causal insights into neural circuit functionality, various interventions, including electrical, genetic, and pharmacological approaches, have been applied over recent decades. This study employs a comprehensive bibliometric perspective to explore the field of neural circuits. Methods: Reviews and articles on neural circuits were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database on Apr. 12, 2023. In this article, co-authorship analysis, co-occurrence analysis, citation analysis, bibliographic analysis, and co-citation analysis were used to clarify the authors, journals, institutions, countries, topics, and internal associations between them. Results: More than 2000 organizations from 52 different countries published 3975 articles in the field of “neural circuit” were used to analysis. Luo liqun emerged as the most prolific author, and Deisseroth Karl garners the highest co-citations (3643). The Journal of Neuroscience leaded in publications, while Nature toped in citations. Chinese Academy of Science recorded the highest article count institutionally, with Stanford University ranking first with 14,350 citations. Since 2020, neurodynamic, anxiety-related mechanisms, and GABAergic neurons have gained prominence, shaping the trajectory of neural circuitry research. Conclusions: Our investigation has discerned a paradigmatic reorientation towards neurodynamic processes, anxiety-related mechanisms, and GABAergic neurons within the domain of neural circuit research. This identification intimates a prospective trajectory for the field. In the future, it is imperative for research endeavors to accord priority to the translational application of these discernments, with the aim of materializing tangible clinical solutions.

Abstract Based on the matching of the database of China Industry Business Performance and China Customs Trade from 2000 to 2013, this paper constructs the digital product import index, and adopts the method of panel data modeling to systematically investigate the impact and mechanism of digital product import on the domestic value-added rate of Chinese enterprises' export from the theoretical and empirical aspects. The research finds that the import of digital products significantly promotes the improvement of the domestic value-added rate of enterprises' export, and the core conclusion is still valid after considering the endogeneity of variables, changing the measurement index and estimation method. The mechanism test finds that the import of digital products improves the domestic value-added rate of enterprises' export through two channels: cost markup and relative price. In addition, the heterogeneity test finds that the import of digital products has a stronger effect on the improvement of the domestic value-added rate of enterprises' export in non-export enterprises, pure general trading enterprises, foreign-funded enterprises, labor-intensive enterprises and enterprises in the eastern region.

Abstract In specific judicial practice, the ODR mechanism has played an important role in the settlement of e-commerce disputes and network disputes. However, ODR is still in the exploratory stage in many aspects, and it is inevitable that there will be some problems. This article focuses on the A priori algorithm and frequent pattern growth algorithm in association with rule mining learning. The shortcomings of A priori algorithm and frequent pattern growth algorithm are described and researched accordingly, and an improved algorithm for learning A priori association rules based on matrix is proposed. By analyzing the international commercial dispute resolution mechanism in the Internet era, this article constructs an international commercial dispute resolution mechanism platform. By analyzing the process of disputes in foreign trade e-commerce transactions, this article proposes a method to automatically capture gateway dispute information through automated management system tools to improve the efficiency of the gateway. The algorithm in this paper scans the transaction database only once, and according to the matrix structure, it performs the logical AND operation of the row vector representing the data item in the matrix, and it learns frequent item sets quickly and accurately. The entire process effectively reduces the time consumption and space occupation required for frequent item set learning. According to the effective measurement method of the association rules, the effective association rules are extracted from the frequent item set. Through the realization of functions such as allocation, viewing, dispute handling, and statistics in the management tool, the progress and processing efficiency of the gateway dispute handling can be effectively managed. In addition, this article gives the dispute handling process of the website itself, adds the process of automatic completion of disputes by buyers and sellers through agreements, and improves the tools of the CS manual handling management system. The data ...

Abstract Abstract Fierce, ever-increasing competition has prompted universities to pay more attention to their academic brand. Since the 1980s, top Chinese universities have begun to register trademarks and manage academic brands. After more than 20 years of hard work, what have they achieved? This paper, which conducts research based on big data on the trademarks and litigation of the 42 first-class universities, is the first systematic analysis of the trademark practices and strategies of Chinese universities. Our data show the following dimensions of top Chinese universities: the timing of the first trademark application, core trademark, non-core trademarks, trademark elements, distribution of trademarks in the Nice Classification, number of trademarks, legal status, and trademark litigation. Additionally, several typical universities, offering both positive and negative examples, were studied. Through the above analysis, we found that the application has some blind spots, there is a lack of initiative in trademark litigation, and the trademark management systems in universities are not considered relevant. To solve these problems, a range of suggestions from macro to micro is offered to help universities formulate a systematic and reasonable trademark protection strategy, strengthen the legal protection of their trademark rights, and improve their internal trademark management system.

Abstract Production chemistry is an important field in the petroleum industry to study the physicochemical changes in the production system and associated impact on production fluid flow from reservoir to topsides facilities. Mineral scale deposition and metal corrosion are among the top three water-related production chemistry threats in the petroleum industry, particularly for offshore deepwater and shale operations. Mineral scale deposition is mainly driven by local supersaturation due to operational condition change and/or mixing of incompatible waters. Corrosion, in contrast, is an electrochemical oxidation–reduction process with local cathodic and anodic reactions taking place on metal surfaces. Both mineral scaling and metal corrosion can lead to severe operational risk and financial loss. The most common engineering solution for oilfield scale and corrosion control is to deploy chemical inhibitors, including scale inhibitors and corrosion inhibitors. In the past few decades, various chemical inhibitors have been prepared and applied for scaling and corrosion control. Phosphorus-based polymers are an important class of chemical inhibitors commonly adopted in oilfield operations. Due to the versatile molecular structures of these chemicals, phosphorus-based polymeric inhibitors have the advantage of a higher calcium tolerance, a higher thermal stability, and a wider pH tolerance range compared with other types of inhibitors. However, there are limited review articles to cover these polymeric chemicals for oilfield scale and corrosion control. To address this gap, this review article systematically reviews the synthesis, laboratory testing, and field applications of various phosphorus-based polymeric inhibitors in the oil and gas industry. Future research directions in terms of optimizing inhibitor design are also discussed. The objective is to keep the readers abreast of the latest development in the synthesis and application of these materials and to bridge chemistry knowledge with oilfield scale and corrosion ...

Abstract This paper investigates the direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation-based target localization problem using an array radar under complex multipath propagation scenarios. Prevalent methods may suffer from performance degradation due to the deterministic signal model mismatch, especially when the exact knowledge of a propagation environment is unavailable. To cope with this problem, we first establish an improved signal model of multipath propagation for low-angle target localization scenarios, where the dynamic nature of convoluted interferences induced by complex terrain reflections is taken into account. Subsequently, an iterative implementation-based target localization algorithm with the improved propagation model is proposed to eliminate the detrimental effect of coherent interferences on target localization performance. Compared to existing works, the proposed algorithm can maintain satisfactory estimation performance in terms of target location parameters, even in severe multipath interference conditions, where the decorrelation preprocessing and accurate knowledge about the multipath propagation environment are not required. Both simulation and experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed propagation model and localization algorithm.
