Abstract Objective: To evaluate the effect of combined application of Semen vaccariae seeds auricular acupressure and 5α-reductase inhibitor (finasteride tablets) on postoperative quality of life of patients after transurethral plasmakinetic enucleation of the prostate (PKEP).
Methods: 120 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) who were scheduled to undergo PKEP at the Department of Urology, Jintan People's Hospital Affiliated to Jiangsu University from January 2020 to December 2022, were randomly divided into 4 groups after voluntarily signing informed consent. Three days before the operation, 30 patients were given oryzanol tablets 5 mg orally once a night (placebo group), 31 patients were given Semen vaccariae seeds auricular acupressure (auricular acupressure group), 29 patients were given finasteride 5 mg orally once a night (finasteride group), and another 30 patients were given auricular acupressure combined with finasteride 5 mg orally once a night (combination therapy group). The above treatment was continued for 6 weeks after PKEP. The general data of the perioperative period and the 6-week postoperative follow-up results of the 4 groups were compared to observe the indicators such as the symptom score of nocturia, the self-rating depression scale, and the quality of life (QoL) after treatment among the groups.
Results: All patients who underwent PKEP completed the 6-week postoperative follow-up and no statistical difference in the relevant data of the 4 groups was found before the operation. After 2 and 4 weeks of follow-up, the nocturia symptom scores of the auricular acupressure group and the combination therapy group were better than those of the placebo group and the finasteride group. The depression symptom scores and QoL results showed that the auricular acupressure group, finasteride group, and combination therapy group were superior to the placebo group (P<0.05). After 6 weeks of follow-up, QoL in the combination therapy group was 1.65±0.55, which was significantly different from that in the other three groups (P<0.05).
Conclusion: Combined application of auricular acupressure and 5α-reductase inhibitor can significantly alleviate symptoms such as nocturia and depression and improve the quality of life in BPH patients after PKEP.

Abstract In the southern East China Sea (ECS), low‐salinity shelf water is distinguished from high‐salinity Kuroshio water. Neutral density solution of subsurface salinity in southern ECS with Empirical Orthogonal Function (EOF) analysis of Simple Ocean Data Assimilation (SODA) reanalysis data (1958‐2008) is presented. This study focuses on seasonal to interannual variations of large‐scale patterns. We choose isopycnal 24.5 γn ${\gamma }^{n}$ as the representative of subsurface layers, which is the deepest of the Kuroshio subsurface that can outcrop to sea surface during winter and early spring. We conducted EOF both including and excluding the seasonal signal. The results show that annual cycles dominate the first two leading EOF modes, EOF‐1 representing inner‐shelf oscillation, and EOF‐2 outer‐shelf oscillation. However, EOF‐2 also shows significant interannual variability. To this end, we removed the seasonal signal from the dataset and recalculated EOF. We found that the interannual EOF‐1 is of cross‐shelf in spatial pattern and shows significant interannual variability. This suggests that seaward penetration of the shelf water and shelfward intrusion of the Kuroshio that mainly occur in winter and early spring are a pair of contradictions in the two‐way intrusions, which are modulated by significant interannual variability. We also found that the isopycnal extending abnormally northward and outcropping in early spring corresponds to significant non‐intrusions of the Kuroshio. In the underlying dynamics, oceanic stratification, besides topography uplifting, plays an important role in the subsurface intrusion of Kuroshio off northeast Taiwan.

Abstract The multi-ocellated racerunner, Eremias multiocellata , was considered to have temperature-dependent sex determination (TSD), as its sex ratio can be influenced at different temperatures. However, such an observation contrasts with recent findings that suggest TSD is less common than previously thought. Here, a genotyping-by-sequencing (GBS) approach was employed to identify sex-linked markers in the E. multiocellata , for which the mechanism choice of TSD or GSD is still controversial. We preliminarily identified 119 sex-linked markers based on sex-associated sex-specific sequences, 97% of which indicated female heterogamety. After eliminating the false positives, 38 sex-linked markers were recognized, all of which showed the ZW/ZZ system. Then, eight of the novel markers were verified by PCR amplification from 15 populations of E. multiocellata , which support the GSD in E. multiocellata without geographic variation. To test the conservation of sex chromosome in Eremias , the eight markers were further cross-tested by PCR amplification in 10 individuals of the Mongolian racerunner ( Eremias argus ), two of which exhibited cross-utility. The novel sex-linked markers could be mapped on the W chromosome of the sand lizard ( Lacerta agilis ). Our finding that the sex-linked markers are shared in closely related species, along with a conserved synteny of the W chromosome, further supports the homology and conservation of sex chromosomes in the lacertid lizards.

Abstract Objectives Despite early mobilisation as a key component of enhanced recovery after surgery pathways for pancreatic surgery, the implementation of early mobilisation remains unsatisfactory. What factors influence the implementation of early mobilisation from the lens of all stakeholders is unclear. The aim of this study was to identify the influencing factors of early mobilisation in pancreatic surgery from the perspective of patients, family members and health professionals.Design A qualitative descriptive design using individual interviews and focus groups.Setting and participants Twenty-two patients undergoing pancreatic surgery, 10 family members and 10 healthcare professionals from a large university teaching hospital in China. Methods We collected data on participants’ views on factors influencing early mobilisation after pancreatic surgery. Two researchers independently reviewed the transcripts and emergent coding. The data were analysed using qualitative content analysis. Results Three main categories that influenced the implementation of early mobilisation in pancreatic surgery were identified: (1) attitude towards early postoperative mobilisation (eg, perceived advantages or disadvantages of early mobilisation), (2) subjective norm (eg, impact from health professionals, family members and fellow patients) and (3) perceived behavioural control (eg, knowledge, abilities, resources and environment). Conclusion Factors influencing early mobilisation are diverse and multidimensional. The successful implementation of early mobilisation requires the dedication of both patients and healthcare professionals.

Abstract Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop the career growth scale for nurses (CGSN) and evaluate its psychometric properties.
Methods: This study was conducted in four phases: (1) creating a pool of potential items through a qualitative design; (2) developing a preliminary scale using a modified two-round Delphi process; (3) refining the preliminary scale to finalize the scale using a cross-sectional survey; and (4) evaluating the psychometric properties of the final scale using another cross-sectional survey. A sample of 858 registered nurses from 12 general hospitals was recruited for this study.
Results: The final scale consisted of 17 items categorized into three factors: career goal progress, professional ability and attribute improvement, and career promotion and prestige increase. The three factors accounted for 75.4% of the observed variance in career growth. The overall Cronbach's α was .96, and the intraclass correlation coefficient was .92. The content validity index was .97. Confirmatory factor analysis showed acceptable model fitness.
Conclusions: These results showed that the CGSN has good psychometric properties and can be used to evaluate specific career growth among nurses. This new instrument can further help nurse managers and clinical nurses themselves assess career growth and identify unsatisfactory aspects of growth, thereby designing tailored training programs and evaluating the effectiveness of such interventions.

Abstract Objectives: Melanoma progression involves multiple molecular pathways. In this study, we explored the effect of immunoglobulin heavy constant gamma 1 (IGHG1) on melanoma progression.
Methods: IGHG1, zinc finger E-box binding homeobox 1 (ZEB1), and cleavage stimulation factor subunit 2 tau variant (CSTF2T) expression levels were measured by quantitative reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction and western blot. BALB/c nude mice were subcutaneously injected with A375 cells to develop a transplantation tumor model, 4 weeks after which the tumor tissues were collected. Cell proliferation, cell invasion, and cell migration of A375 and SK-MEL-28 cells were measured after gain- and loss-of-function of IGHG1, ZEB1, and CSTF2T. Binding of ZEB1 to the IGHG1 promoter was assayed by chromatin immunoprecipitation and dual-luciferase reporter gene assays, while binding of CSTF2T to ZEB1 mRNA was investigated by RNA immunoprecipitation and RNA pull-down assays.
Results: IGHG1, ZEB1, and CSTF2T were all highly expressed in human melanoma cell lines. In A375 and SK-MEL-28 cells, ZEB1 binds directly to the IGHG1 promoter. ZEB1 silencing reduced IGHG1 expression and melanoma cell proliferative, invasive, and migratory properties, and these cellular effects were nullified by overexpression of IGHG1. CSTF2T binds directly to ZEB1 mRNA. Silencing of CSTF2T diminished ZEB1 expression and restrained melanoma cell proliferative, invasive, and migratory capabilities. The impacts of CSTF2T silencing on melanoma cells were counteracted by concomitant overexpression of ZEB1. CSTF2T knockdown reduced tumor volume and weight in nude mice.
Conclusions: The CSTF2T-ZEB1-IGHG1 axis promotes melanoma cell proliferation and invasion.
