Abstract Objectives: Intravenous thrombolysis therapy (IVT) with recombinant tissue plasminogen activator has proven to be a beneficial treatment for acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients when administered within 4.5 h after a stroke. This study aimed to investigate an available and inexpensive predictive tool for early neurological deterioration in AIS. Methods: Patients admitted to our department with acute stroke who were given IVT with recombinant tissue plasminogen activator within 4.5 h of stroke onset were included in the study. The NIH stroke scale (NIHSS) was used to assess patients’ neurological state prior to IVT and for 24 h after. Early neurological deterioration was defined as occurring if the NIHSS total score increased by ≥ 4 or the NIHSS individual score increased by ≥ 2 compared to baseline. Patients were randomly assigned to training or validation cohorts. Results: Of the 266 AIS patients receiving IVT who were screened, 217 were deemed eligible for the study. Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified smoking history, NIHSS score, homocysteine level, and neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio as independent factors for predicting early neurological deterioration. ROC analysis was used to assess the quality of the resulting nomogram. The AUC for the training dataset was 0.826 (95 % CI, 0.719–0.932), and for the validation dataset was 0.887 (95 % CI, 0.763–1.000). Conclusion: The robustness of this nomogram suggests that it may be a reliable tool for evaluating the progression of AIS after IVT.

Abstract Environmental changes and ground subsidence along railway lines are serious concerns during high-speed railway operations. It is worth noting that AutoRegressive Integrated Moving Average (ARMA), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), and other prediction methods may present limitations when applied to predict InSAR time series results. To address this issue, this study proposes a prediction method that decomposes the nonlinear settlement time series of feature points obtained through InSAR technology using Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition (EEMD). Subsequently, multiple Intrinsic Mode Functions (IMFs) are generated, and each IMF is individually predicted using the Prophet forecasting model. Finally, we employ an equal-weight superimposition method to combine the results, resulting in the prediction of the InSAR settlement time series. The predicted values of each component are subsequently weighted equally and combined to derive the final prediction outcome. This paper selects InSAR monitoring data along a high-speed railway in inland China and uses the proposed method and ARMA and Prophet models to carry out comparative experiments. The experimental results show that compared with the ARMA and Prophet models, the method in this paper improves the root mean square error by 58.01% and 32.3%, and increases the mean absolute error by 62.69% and 33.78%, respectively. The predicted settlement values generated by our method exhibit better agreement with the actual InSAR monitoring values.

Abstract This study comprehensively summarizes research in the field of meditation, especially mindfulness meditation from 1900 to 2021, by analyzing the knowledge map through CiteSpace and VOSviewer software. Using “mindfulness *” or “meditation *” as the topic, articles included in the Science Citation Index Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index were searched in the web of science core database, resulting in the selection of 19,752 articles. Over half a century ago, Deikman published the field’s first article in the Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease in 1963, and publications have soared in subsequent decades. The USA is in the core position in terms of global collaboration, total publication numbers, and total citations. The Mindfulness journal ranked first for the most published articles and citations. “The benefits of being present: Mindfulness and its role in psychological well-being,” written by Brown and Ryan, was the most cited article. Mindfulness, meditation, depression, intervention, stress reduction, stress, and anxiety are the top co-occurrence keywords. The timeline of cluster analysis discloses that before 2010, hypertension, cancer, mindfulness, generalized anxiety disorder, and other topics received great attention. In the decade since 2010, scholars have shown interest in meta-analysis, attention, and self-assessment, and keen attention to mindfulness-based interventions. These findings provide an important foundation to direct future research.

Abstract Debris flow is a type of special torrent containing numerous solid materials. With many types of factors affecting debris flow, there is no reliable basis for the selection of risk factors for debris flow risk assessment. Therefore, to study the factors affecting debris flow, exploring a reliable method for assessing the relative importance of these factors is a significant endeavor in debris flow prevention and control work. In this research, debris flow risk assessment was combined with meta-analysis to analyze quantitatively the relative importance of risk factors of debris flow in northwest and southwest China. The final relative importance of each factor in northwest China is as follows, maximum relative height difference > slope of main channel > maximum daily precipitation > ratio of longitudinal slope > drainage area > length of main channel. In addition, in southwest China, maximum relative height difference > maximum daily precipitation > slope of main channel > ratio of longitudinal slope > length of main channel > drainage area. The meta-analysis results were accurate, which can provide a reliable basis for the selection of debris flow risk factors in debris flow risk assessment. Furthermore, it provides strong support for the application of meta-analysis in risk assessment of other geological hazards.

Abstract The heterogeneous Fenton system has become the hotspot in the decontamination field due to its effective degradation performance with a wide pH range. Based on the unstable chemical properties of pyrite, in this article, Fe2GeS4 nanoparticles with better thermodynamic stability were prepared by vacuum sintering and high energy ball milling and its potential as Fenton reagent was investigated for the first time. Three determinants of the heterogeneous Fenton system including the iron source, hydrogen peroxide, pH and the degradation mechanism were investigated. The catalyst dosage of 0.3 g/L, initial H2O2 concentration in the Fenton system of 50 m mol/L and pH of 7 were chosen as the best operational conditions. An almost complete degradation was achieved within 5 min for methylene blue and rhodamine b while 10 min for methyl orange. The total organic carbon removal efficiencies of Fe2GeS4 heterogeneous Fenton system for methylene blue, methyl orange and rhodamine b in 10 min were 56.3%, 66.2% and 74.2%, respectively. It’s found that the degradation ability could be attributed to a heterogeneous catalysis occurring at the Fe2GeS4 surface together with a homogeneous catalysis in the aqueous phase by the dissolved iron ions.

Abstract In this study, highly effective boron acid and glycerol co-doped TiO2 nano-materials were directly synthesized via a sol–gel method. The resulting materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier transform infrared spectrum (FT-IR), UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) and X-ray photoelectron (PL) spectroscopy. The results indicate that boron dopant is partially embedded into the interstitial TiO2 structure or incorporated into the TiO2 lattice through occupying the position of the oxygen atom, and others is present in the form of B2O3. Boron acid and glycerol co-doping TiO2 materials show obvious red shift in their absorption edges and efficient electron–hole separation because of the glycerol doping. The study on the antibacterial activities demonstrate that co-doped TiO2 nano-materials could effectively inactivate the bacteria under visible light irradiation. Co-doped TiO2 nano-materials exhibit more excellent antibacterial performance than B-doped TiO2 nano-materials.

Abstract The efficient maintenance of the activity of excised branches is the powerful guarantee to accurately determine gas exchange flux between the detached branches of tall trees and the atmosphere. In this study, the net photosynthetic rate (NPR) of the excised branches and branches in situ were measured simultaneously by using two photosynthetic instruments to characterize the activity of the excised branches of Phyllostachys nigra. The ratio of normalized NPR of excised branches to NPR in situ was used to assess the photosynthetic activity of detached branches. Based on photosynthetic activity, an optimal hydroponics protocol for maintaining activity of excised P. nigra branches was presented: 1/8 times the concentration of Gamborg B5 vitamin mixture with pH = 6. Under the best cultivation protocol, photosynthetic activity of excised P. nigra branches could be maintained more than 90% within 6 hr in the light intensity range of 200–2000 μmol/(m2·sec) and temperature range of 13.4–28.7°C. The nitrogen dioxide (NO2) flux differences between in situ and in vitro branches and the atmosphere were compared using double dynamic chambers. Based on the maintenance method of excised branches, the NO2 exchange flux between the excised P. nigra branches and the atmosphere (from −1.01 to −2.72 nmol/(m2·sec) was basically consistent with between the branches in situ and the atmosphere (from −1.12 to −3.16 nmol/(m2 sec)) within 6 hr. Therefore, this study provided a feasible protocol for in vitro measurement of gas exchange between tall trees and the atmosphere for a period of time.
