Abstract Due to the value of teacher professional development in increasing student learning achievement, an increasing number of articles in general education have assessed the impact of this professional trait on student achievement. Nevertheless, in language education, a few investigations have examined the role of professional development in student learning achievement. Moreover, no inquiry has theoretically reviewed the implications of teacher professional development for EFL learners' achievement. This theoretical review intends to address the gap by concentrating on the potential effects of teacher professional development on EFL students' learning achievement. The empirical and theoretical evidence were thus inspected with a view to explaining the role of teacher professional development in English learners' academic outcomes. Consequently, the prominent role of teacher professional development in improving EFL students' learning achievement was proved using the relevant evidence. The present review's outcomes may be useful and illuminating for teachers, teacher educators, and educational managers.

Abstract Green innovation cooperation (GIC) has become an important measure for sustainable development of enterprises. Based on the knowledge-based theory, knowledge interaction is a necessary mode of GIC. Exploring the influencing factors of knowledge interaction in green innovation cooperation is an important aspect to improve the performance of GIC. From the perspective of ecological theory, taking ecological relations as the lens, this paper further analyzes the differences of different ecological relations (competitive relationship, mutualism relationship, commensalism relationship, and parasitism relationship) affecting knowledge interaction in GIC. The results show that there are significant differences between different ecological relationships and knowledge interaction in GIC. Mutualism and commensalism contribute to knowledge interaction, while competition and parasitism may lead to the weakening of knowledge interaction and even the breaking of knowledge connection. In addition, the willingness to cooperate in green innovation is conducive to the knowledge interaction of GIC. Therefore, the paper proposes that green innovation partners should be selected based on ecological relationship. This paper reveals the theoretical connection between ecological relationship and knowledge interaction, provides valuable insights for promoting knowledge interaction in GIC, and expands the influencing factors of knowledge interaction.

Abstract Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung had a lifelong interest in the I Ching after discovering it in 1919. Jung's interest in the I Ching is arguably more practical than purely theoretical or intellectual, and references to I Ching divination appear frequently in his various publications, seminars, letters and clinical practice records. After a few observations on the history of the study of the I Ching in China, the author categorizes Jung's three uses of the I Ching as physical use (to preview future potentials of outer reality), psychological use (to reveal one's psychological state), and psychical approach (to engage with the divine through ""["shen", spiritual agencies]). Finally, the author discusses the current Jungian engagement by demonstrating clinical cases in contemporary times. Some Jungian analysts practise I Ching divination to obtain insights into the physical and psychological state of therapeutic relationships and for personal development. This paper is a historical and critical engagement of the Jungian practice of I Ching divination.

Abstract Background: There is basic research suggesting that Huaier granule can inhibit liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), but this conclusion has not been clinically verified. We analyzed the distant cancer tissue of two groups of hepatitis B virus (HBV) related HCC with/without Huaier granule, to clarify the effect of Huaier granule on liver inflammation, liver fibrosis, and postoperative recurrence.
Methods: We collected clinicopathological data of HCC patients who received two surgery procedures at Mengchao Hepatobiliary Hospital of Fujian Medical University in China from January 2014 to December 2020. Patients according to taking/not taking Huaier granule after the first hepatectomy were divided into two groups, 51 patients with Huaier granule for more than 6 months after operation (Group A); 56 patients without Huaier granule (Group B). The effects on liver inflammation, fibrosis grade, and postoperative recurrence were compared between two groups.
Results: The results showed that liver inflammation improved significantly in the Group A [19 (37.3%) cases improved, 31 (60.8%) cases remained unchanged, and 1 (2.0%) case deteriorated] was significantly more than that in the Group B [7 (12.5%) cases improved, 32 (57.1%) cases remained unchanged, and 17 (30.4%) cases deteriorated] (P<0.001). The liver fibrosis in the Group A [17 (33.3%) cases improved, 32 (62.7%) cases remained unchanged, and 2 (3.9%) cases deteriorated] was significantly improved in the Group B [5 (8.9%) cases improved, 45 (80.4%) cases remained unchanged, and 6 (10.7%) cases deteriorated] (P=0.005). The recurrence interval (27.0±21.2 months) in the Group A was significantly longer than that in the Group B (19.0±14.2 months) (P=0.026).
Conclusions: Huaier granule can improve liver inflammation, fibrosis, and liver function and prolong the time to recurrence in HBV-related HCC. Given the high rate of postoperative recurrence and poor prognosis of HBV-related HCC, our findings may have useful clinical significance in the prevention of tumor recurrence in these patients.

Abstract Background: Depression is increasingly prevalent among Chinese adolescents, with socioeconomic status (SES) serving as a significant predictor. Understanding the link between family SES and depression is of paramount concern. This study aimed to delineate the developmental paths of depressive symptoms among urban and rural Chinese adolescents, focusing on the influence of family SES on these trajectories.
Methods: Data from the China Family Panel Studies (CFPS) for 2012, 2016, and 2018 were used in this study. Participants were individuals aged 10 to 15 in the 2012 wave who also participated in the 2016 and 2018 waves (N = 1214). Family SES was measured by household income, parental education, and occupational status, while depressive symptoms were measured by the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression (CES-D) scale. Employing the Growth Mix Model (GMM) unveiled depression trajectories, while logistic regression scrutinized the impact of family SES on these trajectories.
Results: The study identified three depression trajectories in urban adolescents: high-decreasing, low-stable, and low-rising levels of depressive symptoms, and two depression trajectories in rural adolescents: high-decreasing and low-stable levels of depressive symptoms. On average, rural adolescents reported higher depression levels than urban peers. In urban areas, adolescents with higher maternal education and parental occupation were more likely to be classified in the low-stable trajectory, while in rural areas only maternal education had predictive power for depression trajectories.
Conclusions: Depression trajectories differ between urban and rural in China. Maternal education is an important factor influencing rural sample grouping. Targeted interventions could be implemented to reduce depression in adolescents.
