Abstract Cigarette smoke(CS) contains a large number of toxic and carcinogenic compounds. CS induces severe lung infections through different molecular and cellular mechanisms of alteration of respiratory tract structure, innate and adaptive immunity and microbiome homeostasis. CS is strongly associated with poor prognosis in corona virus disease 2019(COVID-19). The different mechanisms through which CS effects contribute to the understanding of the pathophysiology of CS-induced severe pneumonia and explore potential medicine.

Abstract Hydrogel drug delivery systems possess unique structures and properties and hence can be injected and retained in the periodontal pocket for slow and controlled release of medications with antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and periodontal tissue regeneration-promotional effects. Due to their safety, practicability, and effectiveness, they show great potential in the treatment of periodontitis. In this paper, we gave an overview of hydrogel drug delivery systems in the treatment of periodontitis, summing up the classification and forms of the drugs delivered and the strengths and weaknesses of common types of hydrogel matrixes. In addition, we discussed properties required for hydrogel drug delivery systems applicable in the treatment of periodontitis, including a certain level of viscosity, suitable degradation cycle, and temperature sensitivity. Finally, we summarized the stimulus responsiveness types of hydrogel drug delivery systems applicable in the treatment of periodontitis, including pH-responsiveness, enzyme-responsiveness, reactive oxygen species-responsiveness, light-responsiveness, and sugar-responsiveness. In the future, researchers should make further investigation into the clinical efficacy of hydrogel drug delivery systems and promote their translation into clinical applications. Additionally, hydrogel drug delivery systems carrying biologic drugs could be further investigated to promote advancement in the field of periodontal tissue regeneration. Furthermore, the response sources, realization strategies, and safe preparation methods of smart hydrogel drug delivery systems should also be further clarified and explored to achieve drug delivery of better efficiency and safety. In addition to drug delivery, hydrogel matrixes with medicinal values also show great promises.

Abstract Background: Dietary nutrient supplements are helpful in the treatment of many diseases, but their effect on epilepsy is still controversial. This study aimed to evaluate the association between dietary intake of multiple nutrients and epilepsy.
Methods: A total of 3963 participants from the NHANES database were involved in this study. We compared the dietary intake of 14 nutrients between the normal population and those with epilepsy. Univariable and multivariable logistic regression were conducted to evaluate the association of these nutrients with epilepsy.
Results: Compared with the normal population, the epilepsy patients showed lower intakes of protein, vitamin B1, vitamin B6, Fe, and Zn. Multivariable logistic regression showed the negative association of vitamin B1 (OR = 0.513, 95% CI: 0.293, 0.897) with epilepsy. When vitamin B1 was divided into 4 groups according to quartiles, the highest quartile showed a lower odds ratio (OR = 0.338, 95% CI: 0.115, 0.997) than that of the lowest quartile. In different population stratifications, the association of vitamin B1 with epilepsy was different. Vitamin B1 was negatively associated with the odds ratio of epilepsy among the elderly (OR = 0.243), low-income population (OR = 0.337), and current smokers (OR = 0.283).
Conclusion: Epilepsy patients had significantly lower intakes of vitamin B1, which was inversely associated with epilepsy risk. More detailed clinical trials are needed to accurately evaluate nutritional supplements for epilepsy.

Abstract Pyostomatitis vegetans (PSV) is a rare disease characterized by pustules. The typical manifestations are "snail-track" lesions, which widely involve multiple parts of the oral mucosa. It is often associated with inflammatory bowel disease. This paper reports a case of a patients with PSV and unilateral circumscribed swelling. Ulcerative colitis was revealed by oral lesions. The clinical manifestations as well as histopathological and immunopathological features of PSV were analyzed and summarized to provide ideas for clinical diagnosis and treatment.

Abstract Psychologists often attribute the term 'memory' to the retention of information like knowledge or experience. This paper focuses on the reason why not only older people but also the younger generation have been reported that they often forget about certain things that happened before or not happened yet. This paper includes the methods of comparing several data from different studies and citing many conclusions in other studies. This paper presents current knowledge about how and why people usually forget. The conclusion I draw from this whole process of writing is that the factors such as the aging, stress and emotion, encoding failure, storage failure, and the retrieval failure can influence differently on the retain of the memory. But, still, we have some solutions to do our utmost in reducing their effects.

Abstract Sentiment analysis is one of the fields of affective computing, which detects and evaluates people's psychological states and sentiments through text analysis. It is an important application of text mining technology and is widely used to analyze comments. Bullet screen videos have become a popular way for people to interact and communicate while watching online videos. Existing studies have focused on the form, content, and function of bullet screen comments, but few have examined bullet screen comments using natural language processing. Bullet screen comments are short text messages of different lengths and ambiguous emotional information, which makes it extremely challenging in natural language processing. Hence, it is important to understand how we can use the characteristics of bullet screen comments and sentiment analysis to understand the sentiments expressed and trends in bullet screen comments. This study poses the following research question: how can one analyze the sentiments ex-pressed in bullet screen comments accurately and effectively? This study mainly proposes an ERNIE-BiLSTM approach for sentiment analysis on bullet screen comments, which provides effective and innovative thinking for the sentiment analysis of bullet screen comments. The experimental results show that the ERNIE-BiLSTM approach has a higher accuracy rate, precision rate, recall rate, and F1-score than other methods.

Abstract Human pose estimation is a crucial area of study in computer vision. Transformer-based pose estimation algorithms have gained popularity for their excellent performance and relatively compact parameterization. However, these algorithms often face challenges including high computational demands and insensitivity to local details. To address these problems, the Twin attention module was introduced in TransPose to improve model efficiency and reduce resource consumption. Additionally, to address issues related to insufficient joint feature representation and poor network recognition performance, the enhanced TransPose model, named VTTransPose, replaced the basic block in the third subnet with the intra-level feature fusion module V block. The performance of the proposed VTTransPose model was validated on the public datasets COCO val2017 and COCO test-dev2017. The experimental results on COCO val2017 and COCO test-dev2017 indicate that the AP evaluation index scores of the VTTransPose network proposed are 76.5 and 73.6 respectively, marking improvements of 0.4 and 0.2 over the original TransPose network. Additionally, VTTransPose exhibited a reduction of 4.8G FLOPs, 2M parameters, and approximately 40% lower memory usage during training compared to the original TransPose model. All the experimental results demonstrate that the proposed VTTransPose is more accurate, efficient, and lightweight compared to the original TransPose model.
