Abstract Alpha-glucosidase (GAA) activity can be affected by exogenous substances. Hydroxylated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (OH-PAHs) are typical metabolites of PAHs that can enter the body through various routes. The effects of 1-hydroxynaphthalene (1-OHNap) and 1-hydroxypyrene (1-OHPyr) on GAA activity and the potential mechanisms were investigated viamultispectroscopic methods and molecular docking. First-order derivative synchronous spectrofluorimetry was successfully applied to analyze the fluorescence quenching of GAA in the GAA-1-OHNap and GAA-1-OHPyr systems. 1-OHNap and 1-OHPyr had strong inhibitory effects on GAA activity. GAA could bind with 1-OHNap and 1-OHPyr in 1:1 mode with binding constants of 3.97 × 10

Abstract Parkinson's disease (PD) is a common, progressive, and currently incurable neurodegenerative movement disorder. The diagnosis of PD is challenging, especially in the differential diagnosis of parkinsonism and in early PD detection. Due to the advantages of machine learning such as learning complex data patterns and making inferences for individuals, machine-learning techniques have been increasingly applied to the diagnosis of PD, and have shown some promising results. Machine-learning-based imaging applications have made it possible to help differentiate parkinsonism and detect PD at early stages automatically in a number of neuroimaging studies. Comparative studies have shown that machine-learning-based SPECT image analysis applications in PD have outperformed conventional semi-quantitative analysis in detecting PD-associated dopaminergic degeneration, performed comparably well as experts' visual inspection, and helped improve PD diagnostic accuracy of radiologists. Using combined multi-modal (imaging and clinical) data in these applications may further enhance PD diagnosis and early detection. To integrate machine-learning-based diagnostic applications into clinical systems, further validation and optimization of these applications are needed to make them accurate and reliable. It is anticipated that machine-learning techniques will further help improve differential diagnosis of parkinsonism and early detection of PD, which may reduce the error rate of PD diagnosis and help detect PD at pre-motor stage to make it possible for early treatments (e.g., neuroprotective treatment) to slow down PD progression, prevent severe motor symptoms from emerging, and relieve patients from suffering.

Abstract Apart from common respiratory symptoms, neurological symptoms are prevalent among patients with COVID-19. Research has shown that infection with SARS-CoV-2 accelerated alpha-synuclein aggregation, induced Lewy-body-like pathology, caused dopaminergic neuron senescence, and worsened symptoms in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD). In addition, SARS-CoV-2 infection can induce neuroinflammation and facilitate subsequent neurodegeneration in long COVID, and increase individual vulnerability to PD or parkinsonism. These findings suggest that a post-COVID-19 parkinsonism might follow the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to prevent a possible post-COVID-19 parkinsonism, this paper reviewed neurological symptoms and related findings of COVID-19 and related infectious diseases (influenza and prion disease) and neurodegenerative disorders (Alzheimer's disease, PD and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), and discussed potential mechanisms underlying the neurological symptoms and the relationship between the infectious diseases and the neurodegenerative disorders, as well as the therapeutic and preventive implications in the neurodegenerative disorders. Infections with a relay of microbes (SARS-CoV-2, influenza A viruses, gut bacteria, etc.) and prion-like alpha-synuclein proteins over time may synergize to induce PD. Therefore, a systematic approach that targets these pathogens and the pathogen-induced neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration may provide cures for neurodegenerative disorders. Further, antiviral/antimicrobial drugs, vaccines, immunotherapies and new therapies (e.g., stem cell therapy) need to work together to treat, manage or prevent these disorders. As medical science and technology advances, it is anticipated that better vaccines for SARS-CoV-2 variants, new antiviral/antimicrobial drugs, effective immunotherapies (alpha-synuclein antibodies, vaccines for PD or parkinsonism, etc.), as well as new therapies will be developed and made available in the near future, which will help prevent a possible post-COVID-19 parkinsonism in the 21st century.

Abstract Studies indicate that individuals preferring masculinity/femininity in one domain also prefer it in other domains. Heterosexual men and women and gay men have reported consistent preferences for masculinity/femininity across the faces and voices of their preferred sex. This study explored the femininity preferences of 417 Chinese lesbian and bisexual women in terms of face, voice pitch, vocal tract length, and personality traits and explored the effect of sexual self-labels (femme, butch, and androgyne) on these preferences. We found that lesbian and bisexual women showed a stronger preference for feminized faces, voice pitch, vocal tract length, and personality traits than masculinized versions, and these preferences were highly consistent across the four domains. Moreover, femininity preference was moderated by sexual self-labels, with butches preferring more feminine voice pitch, vocal tract length, and personality traits than femmes and androgynes. However, no significant difference was found for facial femininity preferences among different sexual self-labels. These findings present evidence of consistent femininity preference across visual, auditory, and personality traits and suggest that, regardless of sexual orientation, multiple cues may be used together when determining the attractiveness of individuals. Furthermore, these results support the hypothesis that the partner preference of lesbian and bisexual women mirrors that of heterosexual men.

Abstract English reading occupies a large proportion of English test papers, and English reading ability is crucial for college students. However, in the actual teaching process, teachers often neglect the cultivation of students' reading ability. Influenced by the new crown epidemic, various schools actively carry out online teaching. Through online teaching, we found that students' interest in English classes has significantly increased, and the flipped classroom teaching model is a teaching model that combines online and offline teaching. Therefore, this study attempted to apply the flipped classroom model to college English reading instruction to stimulate students' interest in English reading, increase students' participation in class, and improve students' ability to cooperate with each other and ultimately improve students' reading performance. In this study, independent and paired sample

Abstract With people's increasing demand for disease prevention and management, Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) nursing clinics have attracted widespread attention for their unique advantages, but there are some problems in TCM nursing clinics, such as weak foundation of TCM , poor communication between nurses and patients, and poor coordination between doctors and nurses. In order to further simplify the treatment process, solve existing problems, increase data sharing, and promote the communication and cooperation between medical staff and patients, our hospital has developed an intelligent auxiliary diagnosis system through the integration of "Internet + technology" and TCM nursing. It has been applied to the operation of TCM nursing outpatient clinics, and achieved good results. The auxiliary diagnosis system is supported by classical Chinese medical literature and has two service ports, which are divided into medical and nursing ports and patient ports. Medical staff can realize medical record management, differential nursing, treatment management and effect evaluation through the medical ports, and patients can make appointments for treatment time and beds, receive remote health guidance and view medical records through the patient ports. Intelligent auxiliary diagnosis system constructs in-depth TCM nursing outpatient information system from big data intelligent diagnosis, dominant disease diagnosis and treatment scheme, doctor-patient interaction tracking, and result evaluation and analysis. TCM nursing informationization can assist nurses to carry out differential nursing and provide more optimized TCM nursing programs for patients, thereby improving the operation efficiency of TCM nursing practice. Innovation of TCM nursing management mode can provide better TCM nursing service for patients.

Abstract Sentiment analysis of online and offline integrated teaching in universities is being paid more and more attention. Many universities have carried out online teaching activities. However, due to the lack of face-to-face teaching, the lack of emotional communication is the key problem affecting the quality of online teaching. We analyze the relations from the perspectives of the change of teaching mode, the reconstruction of teacher-student relationship, and the transmission of emotional attitude of teachers and students in this paper. Then based on the Bayesian network (BN) theory, the satisfaction of online teaching can be evaluated from the aspects of emotion analysis, learning investment, and teaching interaction. Further, some suggestions are put forward to improve the satisfaction of online teaching.
