Abstract Biomedical imaging is the key technique and process to create informative images of the human body or other organic structures for clinical purposes or medical science. Micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) technology has demonstrated enormous potential in biomedical imaging applications due to its outstanding advantages of, for instance, miniaturization, high speed, higher resolution, and convenience of batch fabrication. There are many advancements and breakthroughs developing in the academic community, and there are a few challenges raised accordingly upon the designs, structures, fabrication, integration, and applications of MEMS for all kinds of biomedical imaging. This Special Issue aims to collate and showcase research papers, short commutations, perspectives, and insightful review articles from esteemed colleagues that demonstrate: (1) original works on the topic of MEMS components or devices based on various kinds of mechanisms for biomedical imaging; and (2) new developments and potentials of applying MEMS technology of any kind in biomedical imaging. The objective of this special session is to provide insightful information regarding the technological advancements for the researchers in the community

Abstract The study's objective is to examine the impact of teacher ability on student academic performance, identification (self-valued goals; personal importance), and self-regulation skills. Additionally, the study examines the mediating effect of identification (self-valued goals; personal importance) and self-regulation skills between teacher ability and student academic performance. The data was collected by the teachers at different colleges and universities in China and 341 samples were used to analyze the data through a convenient sampling technique. Moreover, partial least square structural equation modeling is used in data analysis with Smart PLS software. This research indicates that teacher ability has a positive and significant effect on student academic performance, identification (self-valued goals; personal importance), and self-regulation skills. Further, the study also discovers that identification (self-valued goals; personal importance) and self-regulation skills significantly mediate between teacher ability and student academic performance. The study is helpful for the teachers to adopt the better strategies and abilities in themselves when they are engaged with the student in teaching activities.

Abstract A strong basis has been set for the digitization of school management by the growth of big data and the Internet. However, there is not specialised software that can be used in schools to handle teaching materials and carry out teaching activities, particularly in school physical education. Most teachers struggle with significant information management issues in the conventional college sports management information system. Along with people's interest in physical education in colleges and universities, the study of the college sports management information system's development plan has emerged as the primary research area in the present day. The use of data mining in the development strategy of the sports management information system was therefore considered in conjunction with the actual situation of school sports information management. The experiment also introduced and provided a detailed explanation of the algorithm used in data mining. To fully explore the system strategy's development impact was the specific goal. In order to realise the management function of the sports management information system, serve the information management of each school, increase information management efficiency by 6.58%, and improve user satisfaction; data mining was introduced into the development strategy of management information system through the discovery of experimental data.

Abstract As a sub-field of video content analysis, action recognition has received extensive attention in recent years, which aims to recognize human actions in videos. Compared with a single image, video has a temporal dimension. Therefore, it is of great significance to extract the spatio-temporal information from videos for action recognition. In this paper, an efficient network to extract spatio-temporal information with relatively low computational load (dubbed MEST) is proposed. Firstly, a motion encoder to capture short-term motion cues between consecutive frames is developed, followed by a channel-wise spatio-temporal module to model long-term feature information. Moreover, the weight standardization method is applied to the convolution layers followed by batch normalization layers to expedite the training process and facilitate convergence. Experiments are conducted on five public datasets of action recognition, Something-Something-V1 and -V2, Jester, UCF101 and HMDB51, where MEST exhibits competitive performance compared to other popular methods. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of our network in terms of accuracy, computational cost and network scales.

Abstract In order to explore the influence of firing angle and projectile charge number on the muzzle disturbance of mortar, a nonlinear finite element model of mortar, projectile and soil is established, considering the coupling of projectile and barrel, plate and soil coupling, tripod and soil coupling, and the characteristics of buffer machine. Using explicit solver for mortar same firing angle of the projectile charge number, different projectile charge, different shooting angle and projectile charge, different shooting angle regularity of the muzzle disturbance for the sniper firing are analyzed, and the projectile charge number and the shooting angle and the muzzle disturbance are positive correlation. Aiming for a certain distance, using a small charge with smaller shot angle, it can effectively reduce the muzzle disturbance and improve the shooting accuracy. The conclusion has important guiding significance for the reliable use of mortars and the improvement of shooting accuracy.

Abstract [Objective] Carbon reduction is a process of “carbon emission scale reduction” and achieving “carbon emission equity”. The academic community currently pays more attention to the impact of the digital economy on carbon emission scale reduction, and there are relatively few empirical studies on carbon emission equity in digital economy development. This study empirically evaluated the impact of digital economy development on carbon emission inequity, and provides a decision-making reference for the high-quality development of emission reduction under the digital economy. [Methods] Based on China’s inter-provincial panel samples from 2006 to 2018, the Shapley value method was used to measure the carbon emission inequity index, taking into account the economic benefits and environmental governance costs, and used the principal component method to measure the level of the digital economy, focusing on the accumulation of information technology capital and the development of data capital. The panel model was used to evaluate the impact of digital economy development on carbon emission inequity and its mechanism. [Results] (1) The relationship between the digital economy and carbon emission inequity follows an inverted-U trajectory. In the initial stages, the growth of the digital economy aggravated carbon emission inequity, and then began to support the enhancement of carbon emission equity. Currently, the relationship remains in the aggravation stage. For every one percentage point increase in the digital economy development index, the carbon inequity index will rise by about 4.046%, under the same conditions. (2) From the perspective of the impact mechanism of energy consumption, the current interaction between the digital economy development and energy intensity and energy justice can alleviate carbon emission inequity. However, its interaction with energy consumption structure and scale has no significant mitigation effect on carbon emission inequity. (3) From the perspective of the mechanism of influence of ...
