    Abstract A torque control strategy based on acceleration intention recognition is proposed to address the issue of insufficient power performance in linear torque control strategies for electric racing cars, aiming to better reflect the acceleration intention of racing drivers. First, the support vector machine optimized by the sparrow search algorithm is used to recognize the acceleration intention, and the running mode of the racing car is divided into two types: Starting mode and driving mode. In driving mode, based on the recognition results of acceleration intention, fuzzy control is used for torque compensation. Based on the results of simulation and hardware in the loop testing, we can conclude that the support vector machine model optimized using the sparrow search algorithm can efficiently identify the acceleration intention of racing drivers. Furthermore, the torque control strategy can compensate for positive and negative torque based on the results of intention recognition, significantly improving the power performance of the racing car.

    Abstract The anaerobic co-fermentation of iron bound phosphorus (P) compounds (FePs)-bearing sludge with corn gluten meal (CGM) and the underlying mechanisms associated with P release and volatile fatty acids (VFAs) production were investigated. The optimal CGM dosage for P release was 0.6 g chemical oxygen demand (COD)/g total suspended solid (TSS), which resulted in an increase in efficiency from 7 % (control sample) to 39 %. However, the optimal CGM dosage for VFAs production was 0.4 g COD/g TSS, and the yield increased from 37.4 (control sample) to 331.7 mg COD/g volatile suspended solid. The addition of CGM enhanced hydrolysis and acidogenesis by supplying abundant organic substrates to promote the growth of hydrolytic and acidogenic bacteria. A higher VFAs/ammonium-nitrogen ratio resulted in a lower pH, which promoted greater FePs dissolution and P release from the sludge. This study provides novel insights into the effects of CGM on P release and VFAs production.

    Abstract Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a complex, heterogeneous disease with multiple extrapulmonary manifestations, among which vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency are very common in COPD and are associated with the health status and clinical outcomes of COPD patients.
    Objectives: This paper aims to analyze the impact of leisure-time physical activity (LTPA) and daily sitting time (DST) and their interactions on serum vitamin D in patients with COPD.
    Material and methods: Participants aged ≥40 years from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) in the USA from 2007 to 2012 who had undergone pulmonary function tests and vitamin D tests were selected as the study participants. Participants' LTPA and DST were assessed using the General Practice Assessment Questionnaire (GPAQ). Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the relationship between serum vitamin D, LTPA, DSA and the combination of the 2 in patients with COPD, and the results were expressed as odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (95% CI).
    Results: This study included 1,448 samples. The mean vitamin D concentration of the samples was (68.27 ±26.78) nmol/L; 360 participants (24.86%) had vitamin D deficiency and 539 participants (37.22%) had vitamin D insufficiency. Vitamin D and 25(OH)D3 expression levels differed across the 4 groups (150 min/week and DST > 8 h revealed the highest vitamin D expression levels, while LTPA 8 h showed the lowest. Vitamin D was weakly correlated with FEV1, FVC, BMI, age, and LTPA (p < 0.01), but not with DST. Body mass index (BMI) was weakly positively correlated with DST (r = 0.142, p < 0.01).
    Conclusions: Serum physical activity and DST independently affect vitamin D levels in COPD patients; therefore, increasing physical activity and minimizing DST may help improve vitamin D levels and prevent vitamin D deficiency.

    Abstract Introduction: Gallic acid (GA) has a good therapeutic effect in bacteriological inhibition and plays a variety of functions in maintaining the stability of the immune system. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of GA on the bactericidal activity of macrophages against Vibrio vulnificus (Vv).
    Methods: A cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) assay was carried out to test the cytotoxicity of GA on J774A.1 cells. Concentration of proinflammatory cytokines in J774A.1 cells were evaluated by ELISA. The internalization and degradation of Vv in the phagosomes were observed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The phagosome acidification and phagolysosome formation were detected to evaluate the bacteria-clearing function of J774A.1 cells. The bactericidal activity of GA in vivo was also investigated by collecting the survival time of Vv infected mice and observing the inflammatory infiltration of organs.
    Results: Our results demonstrated that GA at 50 μM significantly inhibited the proinflammatory cytokines levels, promoted phagosome acidification and phagolysosome formation in J774A.1 cells with Vv infection. This may be related to the activation of NLRP3/mTOR signaling pathway. Additionally, GA treatment improves the survival and bactericidal activity of mice infected with Vv.
    Conclusions: In summary, GA exerts bactericidal activity against Vv infection by regulating the formation and acidification of phagocytic lysosomes in macrophages.

    Abstract Near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence is a noninvasive, highly sensitive, and high-resolution modality with great potential for in vivo imaging. Compared with "Always-On" probes, activatable NIR fluorescent probes with "Turn-Off/On" or "Ratiometric" fluorescent signals at target sites exhibit better signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), wherein enzymes are one of the ideal triggers for probe activation, which play vital roles in a variety of biological processes. In this review, we provide an overview of enzyme-activatable NIR fluorescent probes and concentrate on the design strategies and sensing mechanisms. We focus on the aggregation/dispersion state of fluorophores after the interaction of probes and enzymes and finally discuss the current challenges and provide some perspective ideas for the construction of enzyme-activatable NIR fluorescent probes.

    Abstract Background: Systemic immune inflammatory index (SII) and systemic inflammatory response index (SIRI) are combinations of non-specific inflammatory and adaptive immune response impairments associated with cardiovascular disease. Yet little analysis has been done on SII, SIRI and acute myocardial infarction (AMI) prognosis. The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation of SII and SIRI with clinical risk factors such as GRACE, Gensini, and QTc after acute myocardial infarction.
    Methods: This study enrolled 310 patients with AMI from February 1, 2018, to December 31, 2022, at our institution. Routine blood items calculated SII and SIRI. Two groups were divided according to whether MACE occurred: the MACE group (81 cases) and the NMACE group (229 cases); each group was divided into three groups according to the SII and SIRI tertiles. The relationship between SII, SIRI and MACE was analyzed using multifactorial logistic regression analysis after adjusting for confounders; ROC curves were plotted to examine the predictive value of SII and SIRI for MACE. The correlation between SII and SIRI and potential risk factors such as Gensini, QTc and GRACE was further analyzed.
    Results: The study enrolled 310 patients, comprising 248 men (80%, mean age 60.73 ± 13.695 years) and 62 women (20%, mean age 69.79 ± 11.555 years). In the regression model completely adjusted for confounders, the risk of MACE was higher in AMI patients with SII > 11.00 [OR = 1.061,95% CI (1.018,1.105)] than in SII < 5.98; the risk of MACE was 115.3% higher in AMI patients with SIRI (1.72-3.68) [OR = 2.153, 95% CI (1.251, 3.705)] was 115.3% higher in AMI patients with SIRI < 1.72 and the risk of MACE was 25.1% higher in AMI patients with SIRI > 3.68 [OR = 1.251, 95% CI (1.123, 1.394)] than in AMI patients with SIRI < 1.72. In addition, SII, SIRI, and potential post-infarction risk factors (Gensini, QTc, and GRACE) were also associated.
    Conclusion: SII and SIRI have been significantly associated with post-myocardial infarction MACE and the predictive potential clinically integrated risk factors in AMI patients, for which more attention should be paid to targeted anti-inflammatory therapy in AMI patients to further reduce the incidence of prognostic MACE in AMI patients.

    Abstract As the global population grows, the demand for beef and dairy products is also increasing. The cattle industry is facing tremendous pressures and challenges. The expanding cattle industry has led to an increased risk of disease in cattle. These diseases not only cause economic losses but also pose threats to public health and safety. Hence, ensuring the health of cattle is crucial. Vaccination is one of the most economical and effective methods of preventing bovine infectious diseases. However, there are fewer comprehensive reviews of bovine vaccines available. In addition, the variable nature of bovine infectious diseases will result in weakened or even ineffective immune protection from existing vaccines. This shows that it is crucial to improve overall awareness of bovine vaccines. Adjuvants, which are crucial constituents of vaccines, have a significant role in enhancing vaccine response. This review aims to present the latest advances in bovine vaccines mainly including types of bovine vaccines, current status of development of commonly used vaccines, and vaccine adjuvants. In addition, this review highlights the main challenges and outstanding problems of bovine vaccines and adjuvants in the field of research and applications. This review provides a theoretical and practical basis for the eradication of global bovine infectious diseases.
