Abstract In English Medium Instruction (EMI), one of the biggest challenges is reportedly the teachers' own lack of English language proficiency. Helping teachers to improve their proficiency while learning about pedagogy is critical to achieving reasonable success in EMI. This article is contextualized in an English language teacher education program conducted in Tunisia. Specifically, I zoom in on a training task that had trainees reading an academic textbook and posting takeaways on an asynchronous platform over a four-week period. The corpus, comprising 50 journal entries produced by five teacher trainees, was analyzed, first using automated tools for natural language processing and then through human coding, for a combination of quantitative and qualitative perspectives, and with a view to deriving a comprehensive understanding of learning as manifested on multiple levels - psychological, cognitive, and linguistic. Results show impressive learning gains both in content and language. I conclude by discussing the findings and implications for EMI.

Abstract Purpose: To investigate the clinical manifestations, imaging, pathology, and prognosis of orbital solitary fibrous tumors (OSFTs). In addition, the surgical incisions and the treatment outcomes were also evaluated.
Methods: A total of 89 patients with pathologically confirmed primary OSFTs were enrolled onto this study. Clinical and histopathological characteristics, imaging data, treatment modalities, and follow-up time, including tumor recurrence and death, were documented. The outcome measures included overall survival and disease-free survival time.
Results: Among 89 eligible cases, the median age of presentation was 39 years (range: 5-80 years) at the initial diagnosis. The most common presenting symptom was painless proptosis (54, 60.67%), then palpable mass (31, 34.83%), swelling (29, 32.58%), and impaired ocular motility (27, 30.34%). Tumor-related severe impaired vision was found in 11 patients (12.36%), including no-light-perception blindness (6, 6.74%), light-perception (2, 2.25%), and hand-movement (1, 1.12%). The preoperative imaging (computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging) accurate diagnostic rate of OSFTs was 17.98% (16, 95% CI: 0.098-0.261), and misdiagnosis rate was 25.84% (23, 95% CI: 0.166-0.351). Grossly intact masses were excised for 27 patients (30.34%). Among the 89 patients, 33 (37.08%) were recurrences, and the median of these recurrent patients' interval between the first and the last operation was 7.33 years (range: 0.12-29.69 years). In 81 patients with complete follow-up data, the median course of the disease was 9.64 years (range: 1.55-33.65 years) from the onset OSFT. The overall survival rate of the 81 patients was 93.83% with a median course of 8.48 years (range: 0.38-30.4 years) from diagnosis of OSFT, and the disease-free survival rate of 81 patients was 91.36% with a median follow-up of 4.76 years (range: 0.08-19.22 years) after the last surgery. Of all the 81 patients, 5 patients (6.17%) developed local recurrence, and 3 patients (3.70%) died from tumor-related diseases, including pulmonary metastasis (2, 2.47%) and complications from intracranial lesions (1, 1.23%). Ten patients (11.24%) received postoperational radiation therapy, including 125I seeds implantation (5, 6.17%) and external beam radiotherapy (5, 6.17%), and remained no recurrence.
Conclusions: In this series, OSFTs showed long courses and easy recurrence. Although it was very important to choose a proper surgical incision for intact resection of OSFTs at the initial surgery to avoiding recurrence, preoperative imaging is of very limited use since it is not able to identify OSFTs effectively. Postoperative radiotherapy may be beneficial to reduce the recurrence of OSFTs with malignant pathologic features.

Abstract As one of the representative figures of the sixth generation of Chinese directors, Jia Zhangke is known as "the most poetic Chinese filmmaker." He has constructed artistic conceptions through image positioning, which create a unique beauty. At the same time, the themes of his works reflect the tradition of "poetry as an expression of aspirations" from the perspective of the fates of ordinary people in this era of change, allowing the audience to feel the poet’s "aspirations." His films also show poetic features in terms of composition, lens, language and music.

Abstract In recent years, mobile phone navigation software has been widely used, but the voice broadcast information of many navigation software is not clear, which is easy to cause confused driving. Urban expressway is an important artery of the city. The road and traffic conditions of urban expressways are extremely complicated, and there are many types of exits, which can easily cause confused driving. Therefore, optimization of navigation modes under the condition of multi-exit urban expressways is particularly important. Based on the experimental data of simulated driving, this paper focuses on the influence of voice navigation broadcast timing on driving under urban expressway, founding driver’s behavior is significantly different under diverse navigation modes. This paper uses the principal component analysis method to comprehensively evaluate the navigation broadcast timing, and gives the optimal navigation broadcast timings for various multi-exit urban expressways. In most cases, the first broadcast time should be 1500m from the exit. This paper clarifies the impact of navigation broadcast timing on driving, and optimizes the navigation mode of multi-exit urban expressways, which is of great significance for reducing yaw under navigation and improving navigation services.

Abstract The paper studies the effects of the long-term care insurance (LTCI) program in China on the mental health of older adults and the wellbeing of their families. We employ the staggered difference-in-differences approach based on the LTCI pilots from 2015 to 2017. First, we find the LTCI program improves older adults' happiness and reduces depression symptoms significantly. The effects on the improvement in memory and cognition are associated with the elderly with activities of daily living-related need for care. Second, the effects of LTCI are partially mediated through providing community services, relieving care burdens, and reducing the incidence of diseases. More importantly, LTCI coverage improves caregivers' physical health and social activities, reflecting its welfare spillover effects. Furthermore, the relationship between LTCI and mental health differs due to the difference in LTCI designs and older adults' demographic characteristics. This presents a need to consider mental health in the services and evaluation criteria of LTCI.

Abstract Hepatitis E virus (HEV) usually causes acute self-limiting hepatitis but sometimes leads to chronic infection in immunocompromised persons. HEV is not directly cytopathic. Immunologically mediated events after HEV infection are believed to play important roles in the pathogenesis and clearance of infection. The anti-HEV antibody responses have been largely clarified since the determination of major antigenic determinant of HEV, which is located in the C-terminal portion of ORF2. This major antigenic determinant also forms the conformational neutralization epitopes. Robust anti-HEV immunoglobulin M (IgM) and IgG responses usually develop 3-4 weeks after infection in experimentally infected nonhuman primates. In humans, potent specific IgM and IgG responses occur in the very early phase of the disease and are critical in eliminating the virus, in concert with the innate and adaptive T-cell immune responses. Testing anti-HEV IgM is valuable in the diagnosis of acute hepatitis E. The long-term persistence and protection of anti-HEV IgG provide the basis for estimating the prevalence of HEV infection and for the development of a hepatitis E vaccine. Although human HEV has four genotypes, all the viral strains are considered to belong to a single serotype. It is becoming increasingly clear that the innate and adaptive T-cell immune responses play critical roles in the clearance of the virus. Potent and multispecific CD4+ and CD8+ T cell responses to the ORF2 protein occur in patients with acute hepatitis E, and weaker HEV-specific CD4+ and CD8+ T cell responses appear to be associated with chronic hepatitis E in immunocompromised individuals.
