Abstract The promulgation and execution of green credit (GC) policies have had a significant influence on the development of the economy and society, and their impact on low-carbon development (LCD) needs to be taken seriously. On the basis of elaborating the mechanism of the role of GC on LCD, this study constructs a panel fixed effects (FE) model to test the direct impact of GC on LCD by using Chinese provincial-level data from 2007 to 2020. An intermediary effect model is constructed to investigate its indirect effects. A dynamic SDM is further constructed to examine the spatial effects of GC on LCD in neighbouring regions. The results show that GC is helping China to achieve LCD. GC can promote LCD through promoting green innovation, optimizing energy structure and upgrading industrial structure. It is crucial to acknowledge that all three pathways are essential channels of influence and should not be disregarded. GC not only fosters LCD in the local areas, but also has a positive spatial spillover effect in adjacent regions. Based on the above conclusions, this study proposes policy recommendations such as increasing support for GC, smoothing the transmission channel from GC to LCD, and establishing a synergistic linkage mechanism between interregional credit and environmental governance. This study provides valuable insights for China to realize LCD, as well as for other countries to actively engage in energy conservation and emission reduction efforts.

Abstract Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic discectomy (PTED) in the treatment of multi-segmental lumbar disc herniation (msLDH).
Methods: From January 2021 to December 2021, 75 patients with msLDH admitted to Baoding No.1 Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected and divided into PTED group (n=40) and posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF) group (n=35) according to different surgical methods. The operative time, intraoperative blood loss, surgical complications, Oswestry disability index (ODI) and Japanese Orthopedic Association score (JOA) scores were compared between the two groups.
Results: In the PTED group, the average operation time was 57.45±12.01minutes, and the average intraoperative blood loss was 50.57±16.69ml. There were three patients with surgical complications, including one case of hematoma, one case of aggravation of neurological symptoms and one case of new onset of neurological symptoms. In the PLIF group, there were 12 cases undergoing single-segment operation, 15 cases undergoing double-segment operation and 8 cases undergoing three-segment operation, the average operation time was 137.26±34.64minutes, and the average intraoperative blood loss was 456.06±33.06ml, there were four cases of wound fat liquefaction or delayed healing, two cases of hematoma, and three cases of exacerbation of original neurological symptoms or new neurological symptoms. At one month, six months, and one year of postoperative, the ODI and JOA scores of the two groups were significantly improved compared with those preoperative, and the ODI scores of the PTED group were better than those of the PLIF group (t=3.131, 2.263, 3.768, all P<0.05).
Conclusion: The surgical effect of PTED in the treatment of LDH is similar to that of PLIF. However, PTED has the advantages of short operation time, less blood loss, fewer surgical complications, and high surgical safety. It is worthy of clinical promotion.

Abstract Developing low-cost composite phase change materials with good shape stability, excellent mechanical strength, high thermal conductivity, large encapsulation ratio, strong light absorption and eminent solar-to-thermal conversion capacity is of great challenge to solve the scaling-up related issues of organic solid-liquid phase change materials during the utilization of solar energy. In this work, halloysite/poly(vinyl alcohol) and halloysite/poly(vinyl alcohol)/reduced graphene oxide aerogels with rich three-dimensional honeycomb structure were prepared by a freezing and freeze-drying method, which can significantly promote the encapsulation ratio of lauric acid in the pores of both aerogels and halloysite nanotube. Halloysite nanotube with high aspect ratio can improve the compressive strength of the aerogels and shape stability of the composite phase change materials, while reduced graphene oxide can reinforce the thermal conductivity and light absorption ability. After encapsulation of lauric acid, the halloysite/poly(vinyl alcohol) 9:1 and halloysite/poly(vinyl alcohol)/reduced graphene oxide 9:1 phase change composites demonstrate extraordinarily high latent heat of 195.4 J/g and 197.0 J/g, respectively, leading to high encapsulation ratios of 97.3 % and 98.1 % respectively, accompanied by good chemical and thermal stability over 300 thermal cycles. The thermal conductivity of lauric acid@halloysite/poly(vinyl alcohol)/reduced graphene oxide is remarkably elevated to 0.333 W/m∙K, exceeding 35.3 % that of pure lauric acid (0.246 W/m∙K). Besides, the lauric acid@halloysite/poly(vinyl alcohol)/reduced graphene oxide realizes a conspicuous solar-to-thermal conversion with solar absorption capacity of 95 % throughout the full spectrum of solar light. The marvelous improvement in the solar-to-thermal conversion efficiency can be attributed to thermally conductive interconnected network of halloysite nanotube and reduced graphene oxide. Thus, lauric acid@halloysite/poly(vinyl alcohol)/reduced graphene oxide and lauric acid@halloysite/poly(vinyl alcohol) are tentatively used in the catalytic hydrolysis of ammonia borane, and they can efficiently harvest, convert and store solar energy in the form of thermal energy and release it for the reaction, which obviously accelerates the extent of reaction with turnover frequency increasing from 29.50 (molH2/molcatalyst·min) at 25 °C to 59.18 and 41.74 (molH2/molcatalyst·min) under the heating of solar energy stored lauric acid@halloysite/poly(vinyl alcohol)/reduced graphene oxide and lauric acid@halloysite/poly(vinyl alcohol), respectively. This work paves a way for fabricating halloysite-based aerogel and composite phase change materials for thermal/solar energy saving application.

Abstract Background: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) has become increasingly common in the clinic and requires complicated evidence of both clinical manifestations and laboratory examinations. Additionally, the assessment and monitoring of lupus disease activity are challenging. We hope to find efficient biomarkers and establish diagnostic models of SLE.
Materials and methods: We detected and quantified 40 proteins using a quantitative protein array of 76 SLE patients and 21 healthy controls, and differentially expressed proteins were screened out by volcano plot. Logistic regression analysis was used to recognize biomarkers that could be enrolled in the disease diagnosis model and disease activity diagnosis model, and a receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was drawn to evaluate the efficiency of the model. A nomogram was depicted for convenient and visualized application of our models in the clinic. Decision curves and clinical impact curves were also plotted to validate our models.
Results: The protein levels of TNF RII, BLC, TNF RI, MIP-1b, eotaxin, MIG, MCSF, IL-8, MCP-1, and IL-10 showed significant differences between patients with SLE and healthy controls. TNF RII and MIP-1b were included in the SLE diagnosis model with logistic regression analysis, and the value of the area under the ROC curve (AUC) was 0.914 (95% confidence interval (CI), 0.859-0.969). TNF RII, BLC, and MIP-1b were enrolled in the disease activity diagnosis model, and the AUC value was 0.823 (95% CI 0.729-0.916). Both of the models that we established showed high efficiency. Additionally, the three protein biomarkers contained in the disease activity distinguish model provided additional benefit to conventional biomarkers in predicting active lupus.
Conclusions: The disease diagnosis model and disease activity diagnosis model that we developed based on protein array chip results showed high efficiency in differentiating patients with SLE from healthy controls and recognizing SLE patients with high disease activity, and they have also been validated. This implied that they might greatly benefit clinical decisions and the treatment of SLE.

Abstract P2X7 receptors are members of the ATP-gated cationic channel family with a preferential localization at the microglial cells, the resident macrophages of the brain. However, these receptors are also present at neuroglia (astrocytes, oligodendrocytes) although at a considerably lower density. They mediate necrosis/apoptosis by the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines/chemokines, reactive oxygen species (ROS) as well as the excitotoxic (glio)transmitters glutamate and ATP. Besides mediating cell damage i.e., superimposed upon chronic neurodegenerative processes in Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's Disease, multiple sclerosis, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, they may also participate in neuroglial signaling to neurons under conditions of high ATP concentrations during any other form of neuroinflammation/neurodegeneration. It is a pertinent open question whether P2X7Rs are localized on neurons, or whether only neuroglia/microglia possess this receptor-type causing indirect effects by releasing the above-mentioned signaling molecules. We suggest as based on molecular biology and functional evidence that neurons are devoid of P2X7Rs although the existence of neuronal P2X7Rs cannot be excluded with absolute certainty.

Abstract A rotary motor combined with fibrous string demonstrates excellent performance because it is powerful, lightweight, and prone to large strokes; however, the stiffness range and force-generating capability of twisted string transmission systems are limited. Here, we present a variable stiffness artificial muscle generated by impregnating shear stiffening gels (STGs) into a twisted string actuator (TSA). A high twisting speed produces a large impact force and causes shear stiffening of the STG, thereby improving the elasticity, stiffness, force capacity, and response time of the TSA. We show that at a twisting speed of 4186 rpm, the elasticity of an STG-TSA reached 30.92 N/mm, whereas at a low twisting speed of 200 rpm, it was only 10.51 N/mm. In addition, the STG-TSA exhibited a more prominent shear stiffening effect under a high stiffness load. Our work provides a promising approach for artificial muscles to coactivate with human muscles to effectively compensate for motion.
