Abstract Based on the electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) model and the higher-order Poincaré sphere (HOPS) framework, we establish a general paradigm to investigate the paraxial evolution of a vector beam in a tripod EIT system. By quantum-optical analogy, we introduce a formalism with a generalized Pauli-like equation under rotational invariance, in which the pseudo-spin-orbit coupling (PSOC) and the spin-orbit nonseparability of light can coexist. More importantly, we find that both the PSOC-based real and imaginary potentials play a key role in controlling and modulating the nonseparable state of the vector beam to traverse the entire HOPS, where the orientation and ellipticity of the transmitted polarization can be modified by varying the PSOC coefficients. Therefore, an all-optical scheme can be proposed to improve the flexibility for tailoring the space-variant polarization of light in coherent media, where the tunable spatial-polarization multiplexing may be useful in conventional and quantum information processing.

Abstract Objective To investigate the effect and mechanism of metabolite γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) on viral infection to RAW264.7 cell lines and mouse primary peritoneal macrophages. Methods RAW264.7 cell lines were treated with 0,10,30,50 and 70 mmol/L GABA for 10 hours, and the cellular viability was detected by CCK-8 assay. RAW264.7 cell line was pre-treated with the indicated dose of GABA for 2 hours and then infected with recombinant green fluorescent protein-expressing vesicular stomatitis virus(GFP-VSV) or VSV for 8 hours. The level of GFP-VSV in RAW264.7 cell line was observed by fluorescence microscopy and was detected by flow cytometry. The level of VSV RNA, Ifnb1 and Il-6 mRNA was detected by RT-qPCR. Mouse primary peritoneal macrophages were pre-treated with 0,10, 30, 50 and 70 mmol/L GABA for 2 hours and then infected with VSV for 8 hours. The RNA level of VSV was detected by RT-qPCR. Results It was found that 10,30,50 and 70 mmol/L GABA failed to affect the viability of RAW264.7 cell line. GABA significantly increased the expression of GFP-VSV protein and the level of VSV RNA, Ifnb1 and Il-6 mRNA in RAW264.7 cell line in a dose-dependent manner (all P<0.05). The level of VSV RNA in mouse primary peritoneal macrophages was also increased in a dose-dependent manner(P<0.05). Conclusions Metabolite GABA promotes VSV infection to RAW264.7 cell line and mouse primary peritoneal macrophages in a dose-dependent manner, and the mRNA level of Ifnb1 and Il-6 is also increased.

Abstract Treatment of multiple benign breast nodules is sometimes challenging with respect to establishing a surgical plan that achieves both therapeutic and cosmetic goals. Successful application of oncoplastic techniques has been reported in selected cases of benign breast lesions. In this case report, we present the surgical treatment and outcome of a patient with multiple fibroadenomas in ptotic and voluminous breasts. A combined procedure of extensive glandular resection and reduction mammoplasty using a modified vertical pedicle technique was performed on this patient, who desired complete lesion removal, volume reduction, and mastopexy. The cosmetic result was satisfactory at both the short- and mid-term follow-up. In addition, different techniques applied in the treatment of breast fibroadenoma are herein reviewed and discussed.

Abstract Objective: Deep hyperthermia combined with platinum-based chemotherapy (DHCT) might lead to the development of better therapeutic strategy for patients with malignant tumor. This study aimed to analyze the computational medical differences in ovarian cancer patients treated with DHCT compared with platinum-based chemotherapy alone.
Methods: 78 patients with advanced ovarian cancer admitted from November 2017 to November 2021 were randomly selected as subjects. Overall survival analysis and CA125 clinical efficiency evaluation were performed to explore the effect of DHCT on cis-platinum therapy. All patients were informed and consented, and approved by the hospital committee. The data were systematically analyzed by chi-squared test to analyze clinical effect and safety observation, and the Kaplan-Meier method and log-rank test were used for survival analysis.
Results: Survival analysis showed that DHCT was strongly associated with improved overall survival (OS) in the platinum treatment of ovarian cancer patients (Hazard Ratio = 1.57, 95% CI: 0.93-2.44, P = .017). For ovarian cancer patients receiving lobaplatin treatment, DHCT could also elevate their survival (Hazard Ratio = 1.52, 95% CI :1.02-2.25, P = .013). The study also showed a statistically significant difference in clinical outcomes between the two groups (P < .001), and the opposite is true for adverse reactions.
Conclusion: Our results suggest that DHCT is expected to be combined with platinum chemotherapy, which is helpful for the molecular classification of ovarian cancer patients. More studies are needed to further verified the clinical significance.

Abstract The NEET phenomenon (not in education, employment or training) has significant implications, both for individuals and society at large. While China's higher education students are particularly susceptible to becoming NEET, relatively little attention has been given to understanding this issue. To address this research gap and contribute to the study of NEET in China, this paper collected a total of 12,616 samples from current higher education students and those who graduated within the past three years from universities in seven provinces of Southwest China, finding that 21.91% of the students surveyed fall into the NEET-prone student category. The underlying factors contributing to NEET-prone status are identified through logit regression analysis and categorized into three levels: individual, family, and society. At the individual level, factors such as personal ability, confidence in job-hunting, and attitude towards NEET significantly influence a student's likelihood of being NEET-prone. Family-level factors include being an only child, consumption level, economic dependence on family members, and the presence of NEET relatives. And social-level factors encompass school provision (or non-provision) of employment services, the number of employment services offered, and the possibility of obtaining loans from society. Finally, this paper concludes by offering recommendations, which are drawn from individual, family, and social perspectives, to help Chinese higher education students avoid NEET status.

Abstract The central nervous system (CNS) has been considered an immunologically privileged site. In the past few decades, research on inflammation in CNS diseases has mostly focused on microglia, innate immune cells that respond rapidly to injury and infection to maintain CNS homeostasis. Discoveries of lymphatic vessels within the dura mater and peripheral immune cells in the meningeal layer indicate that the peripheral immune system can monitor and intervene in the CNS. This review summarizes recent advances in the involvement of T lymphocytes in multiple CNS diseases, including brain injury, neurodegenerative diseases, and psychiatric disorders. It emphasizes that a deep understanding of the pathogenesis of CNS diseases requires intimate knowledge of T lymphocytes. Aiming to promote a better understanding of the relationship between the immune system and CNS and facilitate the development of therapeutic strategies targeting T lymphocytes in neurological diseases.

Abstract Purpose: B-cell lymphoma 9 (BCL9), a key transcription co-activator of the Wnt pathway, contributed to tumor progression and metastasis in various tumors, whereas, the role of BCL9 in papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) has not been investigated.
Methods: We acquired PTC gene expression data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. Fifty-nine PTC tissues were applied to validate the clinical significance of BCL9. Cell experiments were applied to investigate the role of BCL9. Bioinformatics analysis was employed to investigate the biological functions of BCL9.
Results: We found that BCL9 was higher expressed (
Conclusion: Therefore, BCL9 was associated with lymph node metastasis and shorter PFS of PTC, due to promotion of PTC cell proliferation and invasion, activation of Wnt/β-catenin and MAPK pathway, inhibition of CD8+ T and NK cell infiltration, and promotion of PD-L1 expression.

Abstract Hypoxia, largely triggered by global warming and water contamination, has become an environmental issue of great concern, posing a great threat to aquatic ecosystem. As one of the world's most economically important fish, rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) is extremely intolerant of hypoxic environments, however, little is known about the roles of non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) in the response of rainbow trout to hypoxia stress. Herein, effects of moderate (Tm12L) and severe hypoxia for 12 h (Ts12L) and 12 h reoxygenation on histology, biochemical parameters (antioxidant, metabolism and immunity) and transcriptome (lncRNA, miRNA and mRNA) in rainbow trout liver were investigated. We further validated the regulatory relationships between LOC110519952, novel-m0023-5p and glut1a via dual‑luciferase reporter, overexpression and silencing assays. Compared with Tm12L, the liver in Ts12L showed more severe oxidative damage. Anaerobic, lipid and protein metabolism was enhanced under hypoxia stress, especially in Ts12L. We also found that Tm12L could strengthen innate immune response, which was inhibited in Ts12L. Besides, several hypoxia-related genes (glut1a, vegfaa, hmox, epoa, foxo1a and igfbp1) and ceRNA networks were identified from 1824, 427 and 545 differentially expressed mRNAs, miRNAs and lncRNAs, including LOC118965299-novel-m0179-3p-epoa, LOC110519952-novel-m0023-5p-glut1a, MSTRG.7382.2-miR-184-y-hmox and LOC110520012-miR-206-y-vegfaa. Through in vitro and in vivo functional analysis, we demonstrated that glut1a is a target of novel-m0023-5p, and LOC110519952 can positively regulate glut1a by targeting novel-m0023-5p. Introduction of LOC110519952 could attenuate the promoting effects of novel-m0023-5p on rainbow trout liver cell viability and proliferation. This study highlights the differences in the regulatory mechanism of rainbow trout under different concentrations of hypoxia stress and provides valuable data for further research on the molecular mechanisms of fish adaptation to hypoxic environments.
