Abstract Supply chain collaboration is acknowledged for its benefits, but realizing these advantages can be challenging. The role of government subsidies in supply chain collaboration, collaborative advantage, and firm performance remains unclear. In this study, we explored how supply chain collaboration can enhance firm performance and the roles of collaborative advantage and government subsidies in that process. Firstly, we reviewed the related literature and proposed our hypotheses. Secondly, we formulated an innovative theoretical framework and issued our questionnaire after a pilot study. After collecting and evaluating the sample data, we utilized structural equation modeling to comprehensively examine those relationships in a supply chain, unlike the previous studies on trust, firm size, etc. Lastly, in the context of government interventions, this study addresses the question: “To what extent do government subsidies influence the relationships among supply chain collaboration, collaborative advantage, and firm performance?” Our findings indicate that supply chain collaboration is fundamental in shaping collaborative advantage and firm performance, while collaborative advantage is crucial in enhancing firm performance. Additionally, government support in the form of subsidies acts as a catalyst, further enhancing the positive outcomes of supply chain collaboration and ultimately benefiting firm performance. This research underscores the strategic significance of supply chain collaboration and government subsidies in promoting overall business success. By illuminating the roles of collaborative advantage and government subsidies in this context, this study contributes to a deeper understanding of the dynamic capability involved in achieving improved firm performance through effective supply chain collaboration.

Abstract The recirculation of chlorine within the kiln presents a major hurdle in co-processing domestic waste in cement kilns. This chlorine enrichment not only adversely affects the quality of cement, but also pose a serious challenge to the subsequent eco-friendly disposal of kiln dust. To solve this problem, a proper bypass system has been implemented in this study on a 4000 t/d new dry process cement rotary kiln, and the collection of chlorine-rich bypass dust outside the kiln (30 t/d) has been achieved. In addition, a comprehensive and innovative system has been developed, including water washing and subsequent triple-effect salt extraction, to achieve leaching of K+ and Cl from the bypass dust in the water rinsing liquid, while effectively removing harmful metal ions such as Pb2+. Finally, the extraction of high-purity KCl salt (6 tons/day, purity of 90 %) has been successfully achieved. It is worth noting that high-temperature flue gas rich in CO2 has been used to precipitate certain heavy metal ions, while steam from the waste-heat power generation system has been employed as a heat source for the potassium salt evaporation process. More importantly, all the materials, except for the KCl salt product, are returned to the cement kiln system without causing any secondary pollution. This study not only effectively addresses the negative impacts of chlorine element circulation within cement kilns during domestic waste co-processing, but also achieves a highly innovative engineering practice of transforming waste into valuable resources from kiln dust to high-purity KCl products. In brief, this work provides a reference example for future approaches to clean production, carbon reduction and resource utilization in the cement industry.

Abstract The electromagnetic shielding (EMS) fabric is an important electromagnetic protection product, which is widely applied in various fields. The improvement of its shielding effectiveness (SE) has always been the focus of research. This article proposes to implant a metamaterial structure of a “split-ring resonator (SRR)” in the EMS fabrics, so that the fabric not only maintains the porous and lightweight characteristics, but also obtains the SE improvement. With the help of the invisible embroidery technology, stainless-steel filaments were used to implant hexagonal SRRs inside the fabric. The effectiveness and influencing factors of the SRR implantation were described by testing the SE of the fabric and analyzing the experimental results. It was concluded that the SRR implantation inside the fabric can effectively improve the SE of the fabric. For the stainless-steel EMS fabric, the increase amplitude of the SE reached between 6 dB and 15 dB in most frequency bands. The overall SE of the fabric showed a decrease trend with the reduction of the outer diameter of the SRR. The decrease trend was sometimes fast and sometimes slow. The decreasing amplitudes were different in various frequency ranges. The number of embroidery threads had a certain effect on the SE of the fabric. When other parameters remained unchanged, the increase of the diameter of the embroidery thread resulted in the increase of the SE of the fabric. However, the overall improvement was not significant. Finally, this article also points out that other influencing factors of the SRR need to be explored, and the failure phenomenon may occur under certain situations. The proposed method has the advantages of the simple process, convenient design, no pore formation, SE improvement retaining the original porous characteristics of the fabric. This paper provides a new idea for the design, production, and development of new EMS fabrics.

Abstract In the field of Internet of Things (IoT), terminal security has always been an extremely important independent research topic. In the terminal security research, in addition to the security enhancement of terminal entities, the security status evaluation of terminal security has also become an independent subset of the security research in the IoT field. However, it should also be noted that the security attributes of IoT terminals can include many aspects, so judging the security of IoT terminals based on the overall security form is not enough for the security of terminal entities. This paper introduces the concept of volatility from the overall situation assessment to the meta attributes that constitute the overall security situation, and preliminarily realizes the construction of a concise model based on historical data to judge the meta attributes that may affect the overall security in the future. At the same time, a concise verification system is built based on the application scenario of the power IoT terminals currently under research to preliminarily realize trend prediction, further expand the trust evaluation of IoT terminals, and clarify the direction of further research.

Abstract Shale reserves have become an ever-increasing component of the world’s energy map. The optimal design of multi-well multi-stage fracturing (MMF) treatments is essential to the economic development of such resources. However, optimizing MMF treatments is a complex process. It requires geomechanical simulation, reservoir simulation, and automatic optimization. In this work, an integrated workflow is proposed to optimize MMF treatments in an unconventional reservoir, and the net present value (NPV) of reserves was treated as the objective function. The forward model consists of two submodels: a hydraulic fracturing model and a reservoir simulation model. The stochastic simplex approximation gradient (StoSAG) is used with the steepest ascent algorithm to maximize the NPV function. The computational results show that optimizing the fracture design can achieve a 20% higher NPV than that obtained with the field reference case. The drainage area of the optimal design is larger than that of the initial design. The maximum gas production rate increases from 23.75 MMSCF/day to 34.43 MMSCF/day and the maximum oil production rate increases from 497 STB/day to 692 STB/day. Therefore, new optimization paths can accelerate fracture design and help increase well production. This paper innovatively proposes a coupled workflow that can reduce the waste of manpower and improve the optimization results.

Abstract Abstract Probing the architecture, mechanism, and dynamics of genome folding is fundamental to our understanding of genome function in homeostasis and disease. Most chromosome conformation capture studies dissect the genome architecture with population‐ and time‐averaged snapshots and thus have limited capabilities to reveal 3D nuclear organization and dynamics at the single‐cell level. Here, we discuss emerging imaging techniques ranging from light microscopy to electron microscopy that enable investigation of genome folding and dynamics at high spatial and temporal resolution. Results from these studies complement genomic data, unveiling principles underlying the spatial arrangement of the genome and its potential functional links to diverse biological activities in the nucleus.

Abstract Abstract With rapid economic development and urbanization in China, rural wastewater treatment has become an important issue. This study investigated 63 rural sewage treatment stations in northern, central and southern Shaanxi, China for a 1-year period, 2021 to 2022. The main purpose of the research was to investigate the quality and discharge characteristics of rural sewage, along with current problems in rural wastewater treatment, in order to provide evidence for the optimal construction and operation of rural sewage treatment stations. We found that the biodegradability of rural wastewater is adequate, and BOD5/COD ratio in sewage was 0.4, which is suitable for biological treatment. It has obvious intermittent flow cut-off characteristics, and the range of cut-off duration of sewage was 6–16 h/d, which leads to poor pollutant removal efficiency (COD: 50.0 ± 29.2%, NH4 +-N: 46.0 ± 26.1%, TN: 38.5 ± 24.9% and TP: 38.3 ± 23.8%) in sewage treatment stations. In response to the above characteristics, the rural sewage biologically enhanced internal circulation treatment (BEICT) system was constructed. After 97 days of operation, the system has a stable removal effect on TN and TP with an average removal rate of 77.42% and 89.69%, respectively, under the condition of influent interruption for 12 h per day. The activated sludge of system maintained good activity and stable sedimentation performance during the whole experiment, with MLVSS/MLSS and SVI of 0.72 and 128 mL/g, respectively. This study can provide the basis and technical support for the accurate design of rural sewage treatment facilities, and has important significance for guiding the treatment of rural domestic sewage in China.

Abstract The launch of large-scale bike sharing in China has effectively met the demand for low-carbon short-distance travel, but it has also led to the emergence of a large number of abandoned bikes, which is called the “bike-sharing siege”. In order to achieve the sustainable development of the bike-sharing industry, this paper discusses how to encourage bike-sharing companies to recycle and reuse abandoned bikes and improve the efficiency of local government financial resources based on the promotion of the EPR system. We apply the evolutionary game to investigate the interaction mechanism of complex behaviors between local governments and bike-sharing companies under two subsidy policies: a fixed recycling subsidy and regressive recycling subsidy. The results show that both recycling subsidy policies have diminishing marginal effects. In addition to incentives, local governments need to unify bike-sharing parking, establish bike-sharing monitoring platforms, and reasonably allocate bike parking spaces to ensure the quality of the urban environment. Under effective regulation, by implementing a regressive recycling subsidy policy and setting a rational amount for the recycling subsidy, local governments can effectively promote the EPR system, strengthen the environmental responsibility of companies, and avoid the “free-rider phenomenon”. Based on the current situation in China, this research provides references for each local government to formulate management policies from the perspective of subsidy policy.

Abstract An elastomer with mechanical adaptability is a new kind of polymer material in which the increasing stress under continuous deformation is significantly inhibited in a large deformation area. Liquid crystal-based organosilicone elastomers, which can dissipate energy through reversible internal phase transition under external stimulation and have recoverable large deformation capacity, have drawn much interest as mechanical adaptability materials. However, there is no good way to control the mechanical adaptability at present. For this purpose, we prepared a new liquid crystal-based phenyl silicone rubber (LCMVPQ) using two-step click reactions and systematically explored the effect of phenyl content on its mechanical adaptability to achieve the regulation of mechanical adaptability. With an increase in phenyl content in the LCMVPQs, phenyl can hinder the rearrangement of the mesogenic units along the applied stress direction, which enables the adjustment of mechanical adaptability to meet the needs of different situations. In addition, the introduction of the liquid crystal phase impedes the internal friction of the molecular chain movement of the LCMVPQs and reduces the damping performance of silicone rubber. This research achieves the regulation of elastomers with mechanical adaptability and is expected to be applied in practical application fields.
