Abstract Based on the generalized Lorenz-Mie theory (GLMT) and the scattering theory of uniaxial spheres, a theoretical approach is introduced to study the axial radiation force (AOF) exerted on a uniaxial anisotropic sphere illuminated by an on-axis high-order Bessel (vortex) beams (HOBVBs). Applying Maxwell's stress tensor, an analytical expression of the AOF on a uniaxial anisotropic sphere by the on-axis HOBVB is derived. The correctness of the theoretical and numerical results is verified by comparing the AOF on an isotropic sphere by a zero-order Bessel beam (ZOBB) with those results by a plane wave, Gaussian beam, and ZOBB. The focus of this study is to determine some conditions of the tractor beam, so as to realize the inverse motion of an anisotropic sphere through a Bessel beam. The range of optical pulling force (OPF) that can pull particles in reverse motion generated by zero-order and first-order Bessel beams is extended from isotropic spherical particles to anisotropic spherical particles. The effects of the sphere radius, conical angle, and especially electromagnetic anisotropy parameters on the OPF in water or a vacuum environment are discussed in detail. Moreover, the OPF exerted on the uniaxial anisotropic sphere illuminated by a HOBVB with

Abstract An ongoing outbreak of pneumonia caused by a novel coronavirus, currently designated as the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), was reported recently. However, as SARS-CoV-2 is an emerging virus, we know little about it. In this review, we summarize the key events occurred during the early stage of SARS-CoV-2 outbreak, the basic characteristics of the pathogen, the signs and symptoms of the infected patients as well as the possible transmission pathways of the virus. Furthermore, we also review the current knowledge on the origin and evolution of the SARS-CoV-2. We highlight bats as the potential natural reservoir and pangolins as the possible intermediate host of the virus, but their roles are waiting for further investigation. Finally, the advances in the development of chemotherapeutic options are also briefly summarized.

Abstract We investigated the transmission of single and two photons in a one-dimensional waveguide that is coupled with a Kerr micro-ring resonator and a polarized quantum emitter. In both cases, a phase shift occurs, and the non-reciprocal behavior of the system is attributed to the unbalanced coupling between the quantum emitter and the resonator. Our analytical solutions and numerical simulations demonstrate that the nonlinear resonator scattering causes the energy redistribution of the two photons through the bound state. When the system is in the two-photon resonance state, the polarization of the correlated two photons is locked to their propagation direction, leading to non-reciprocity. As a result, our configuration can act as an optical diode.

Abstract Volatile organic compounds(VOCs) data collected in the atmosphere of a typical industrial park in Shanghai in year 2009~2015 were analyzed in this paper. It was found that concentration of TVOC was high in winter and low in spring and summer.48 kinds of VOCs were detected in the atmosphere of this region.Among them, ethyl acetate,n-heptane,heptanes,and toluene accounted for 30%,11%,10%,and 7%,respectively.According to the ratio of T/B ,we can concluded that concentrations of VOC in the atmosphere of this industrial park and the residential areas around the industrial park are mainly affected by the volatility of organic solvents and motor vehicle exhaust emissions, respectively.

Abstract The burden of oral cancer (OC) is closely related to economic development. We aimed to evaluate the burden of OC at different stages of economic development in China in terms of incidence, mortality, and mortality-to-incidence ratio (MIR) from 1990 to 2019. Data on cancer in China from 1990 to 2019 were obtained from the Global Burden of Disease 2019. Based on human development index (HDI), Chinese economic development was divided into three stages: low, medium, and high HDI stages. Mann-Whitney

Abstract The aim of this study is to study the relationship between the degree of lumbar disc degeneration and the height of the disc in patients with pain in the lower back and determine whether there is a dose-response relationship between the two. Eighty-five patients were examined by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The grade of lumbar degeneration was determined by the Pfirrmann grading system, and the intervertebral height and VAS pain scores were measured. The height difference of intervertebral discs with different degeneration levels was measured by the F test. This difference was correlated and further quantified by regression analysis. Finally, the differences intervertebral disc heights with a VAS score of 0-6 and 7-10 were observed by an independent sample
