    Abstract This comprehensive review explores recent catalyst advancements for the hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) of aromatic oxygenates derived from lignin, with a specific focus on the selective production of valuable aromatics under moderate reaction conditions. It addresses critical challenges in bio-crude oil upgrading, encompassing issues related to catalyst deactivation from coking, methods to mitigate deactivation, and techniques for catalyst regeneration. The study investigates various oxygenates found in bio-crude oil, such as phenol, guaiacol, anisole, and catechol, elucidating their conversion pathways during HDO. The review emphasizes the paramount importance of selectively generating arenes by directly cleaving C-O bonds while avoiding unwanted ring hydrogenation pathways. A comparative analysis of different bio-crude oil upgrading processes underscores the need to enhance biofuel quality for practical applications. Additionally, the review focuses on catalyst design for HDO.     Abstract Background: Smoking cessation interventions are important for decreasing lung cancer mortality rate among Chinese Americans. This study aims to investigate and summarize the intervention methods focusing on smoking cessation among Chinese Americans and to compare the effects of intervention methods on the smoking cessation rates.
    Methods: A systematic review and meta-analysis design was used in this study. Keyword searching was conducted in August 2021 on PubMed, Google Scholar, PsycINFO, and CINAHL. The methodological quality of each study was assessed using the PEDro scale or The Methodological item for non-randomized studies (MINORS). The Review Manager Version 5.4 software was used to conduct the meta-analysis. Random effect model and subgroup analysis were applied in the analysis.
    Results: Twenty and 11 studies were included in the systematic review and meta-analysis, respectively. Of the 20 studies, 8 were randomized control studies, 9 were pre-post single group intervention studies, 1 was retrospective analysis for an intervention study, 1 was a baseline data analysis from a cluster randomized trial, 1 was a feasibility intervention study. Results showed that compared to the control group, the group that received interventions on smoking cessation had a significantly increased smoking cessation rate (OR, 3.76; 95% CI, 1.72-8.21; P=0.0009). Subgroup analysis showed individual-based (OR, 5.88) NRT outreach interventions (OR, 3.80) conducted in person (OR, 2.53) with smokers (OR, 6.64) seemed to be more effective to increase smoking cessation rates among Chinese Americans compared with group-based, telephone counseling, indirect remote interventions conducted among Chinese American smokers and their non-smoke family members.
    Conclusions: Individual-based NRT outreach interventions conducted in person with smokers is an effective way to increase smoking cessation rates among Chinese Americans. More culturally sensitive and effective interventions are needed to help Chinese American smokers to quit smoking.

    Abstract Surgeries may have worse clinical outcomes in pancreatitis. In our institute surgical procedure is barely used surgery to treat pancreatitis nowadays. Chinese guidelines recommended regular exercise for severe pancreatitis. The objectives of the current study were to compare nurse-led resistance training at the institute against usual care provided to patients with acute pancreatitis for favorable clinical outcome measures. For acute pancreatitis, patients (≥18 years, of age) received 6 months of resistance training in the garden of the institute under the supervision of registered nurses (NR cohort, n = 102), or received 6 months of resistance training at their home by themselves according to a training manual (HR cohort, n = 120) or received 6 months of usual care only (UC cohort, n = 120). Fewer numbers patients died in the follow-up period in the NR cohort than those of the HR (8 vs 21, P = .0447) and the UC (8 vs 32, P = .0046) cohorts. The frequency of rehospitalization of patients due to any of the reasons in the follow-up period was fewer for patients of the NR cohort than those of the HR and the UC cohorts (P < .05 for both). Hospitalization of patients due to any of the reasons in the follow-up period was fewer for patients of the HR cohort than those of the UC cohort (P < .05). A 52 median score was the quality of life of patients before the start of the non-treatment intervention(s). After 6 months of non-treatment intervention(s), patients of the NR cohort improved their quality of life as compared to their initial quality of life (P < .001), those of HR cohort (P < .05), and those of UC cohort (P < .001). The quality of life of patients with severe pancreatitis after the surgical procedure was worse. Six months of nurse-assisted resistant training at the institute has significant improvement on the quality of life of patients in the follow-up periods of acute pancreatitis. Resistant training at the institute would improve the quality of life of patients with acute pancreatitis (Level of Evidence: IV; Technical Efficacy Stage: 5).

    Abstract Introduction: Applying transumbilical laparoendoscopic single-site surgery to endometrial cancers is worldwide, and the depiction of the learning curve is rarely described, which leads to the vagueness of young clinical practitioners. We accumulated the data to identify the completion of the learning curve by analyzing the operative and postoperative outcomes of the patients with endometrial cancer for transumbilical laparoendoscopic single-site surgery (TU-LESS).
    Methods: This was a retrospective, consecutive single-center study of patients with endometrial cancer undergoing standard endometrial cancer comprehensive staging surgery (extrafascial hysterectomy, bilateral salpingectomy, and pelvic lymphadenectomy) through TU-LESS by an experienced surgeon from December, 2017 to June, 2021 in the Department of Gynecologic Oncology, West China Second Hospital, Sichuan University, China.
    Results: After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 42 patients were included in the study. The learning curve for this study was evaluated using both cumulative sum (CUSUM) and risk-adjusted CUSUM (RA-CUSUM) methods. Applying CUSUM and RA-CUSUM has grouped 42 cases into three phases. The prior five cases represented the learning period. The following six cases were needed to lay a technical foundation (cases 6-11). The third phase was regarded as achieving proficiency (cases 12-42). The operative time decreased drastically with the learning curve. There were no significant differences in terms of postoperative complications and lymph node retrieval among the three phases. More difficult patients were confronted in the third phase.
    Discussion: In our study, the learning curve was composed of three phases. According to the results of our study, 11 cases were required for experienced surgeons to achieve a technical foundation.

    Abstract Background: The condition of COVID-19-related myocarditis has emerged as a prominent contributor to COVID-19 mortality. As the epidemic persists, its incidence continues to rise. Despite ongoing efforts, the elucidation of COVID-19-related myocarditis underlying molecular mechanisms still requires further investigation.
    Methods: Hub genes for COVID-19-related myocarditis were screened by integrating gene expression profile analysis via differential expression in COVID-19 (GSE196822) and myocarditis (GSE148153 and GSE147517). After verification with independent datasets (GSE211979, GSE167028, GSE178491 and GSE215865), the hub genes were studied using a range of systems-biology approaches, such as ceRNA, TF-mRNA networks and PPI networks, as well as gene ontology, pathway enrichment, immune infiltration analysis and drug target identification.
    Results: TBKBP1 and ERGIC1 were identified as COVID-19-related myocarditis hub genes via integrated bioinformatics analysis. In addition, receiver operating characteristic curves constructed based on the expression levels of TBKBP1 and ERGIC1 could effectively distinguish healthy control individuals from patients with COVID-19. Functional enrichment analysis suggested several enriched biological pathways related to inflammation and immune response. Immune cell changes correlated with TBKBP1 and ERGIC1 levels in patients with COVID-19 or patients with COVID-19 and myocarditis. Tamibarotene, methotrexate and theophylline were identified as a potential drug targeting TBKBP1 and ERGIC1.
    Conclusion: TBKBP1 and ERGIC1 were identified as crucial genes in the development of COVID-19-related myocarditis and have demonstrated a strong association with innate antiviral immunity. The present work may be helpful for further investigation of the molecular mechanisms and new therapeutic drug targets correlated with myocarditis in COVID-19.

    Abstract Objective To investigate the influencing factors of vascular crisis after oral and maxillofacial tumor free tissue flap transplantation. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on all patients who underwent free tissue flap transplantation and developed vascular crisis in the surgical ward of head and neck cancer in a grade A specialized hospital. Forty-six possible influencing factors were collected using 1:1 matching according to surgeons, operation time, sex and age of patients from patients without vascular crisis from 2015-2020 in this ward during the same period. SPSS 26.0 statistical software was used for univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses of the data. Results A total of 158 patients were enrolled, including 79 in the crisis group and 79 in the pairing group. Univariate analysis was performed for each variable. Paired logistic regression analysis showed that only postoperative blood potassium (P = 0.048, OR = 3.118, 95% CI: 1.008-9.641) and preoperative and postoperative red blood cell count differences (P = 0.004, OR = 4.53, 95% CI: 1.609-12.750) were statistically significant. Conclusion High blood potassium levels and red blood cell count differences before and after surgery were risk factors for vascular crisis.

    Abstract From 1990 to 2020, the number of newly diagnosed cases of lung cancer in the world continued to grow, but the prevalence remained stable. As time went, the incidence (world standard incidence, adjusted with age structure of world population) of lung cancer changed in gender, region, age, and histological type. The difference between male and female in incidence continued to narrow, with male incidence declining by 12.5% and female incidence rising by 22.3%. There were obvious regional differences in the incidence of lung cancer. From 1998 to 2012, the incidence of male lung cancer in Europe, Asia and North America showed a downward trend (the average annual change percentages were -1.6%, -0.6% and -2.5%, respectively), while the incidence of female lung cancer showed a upward trend except North America. From 1998 to 2012, the average age of lung cancer patients in all regions of the world showed a trend of increasing year by year. The average age at diagnosis of lung cancer in Asian men increased from 67.21 years in 1998 to 69.14 years in 2012. Patterns of histological types of lung cancer have also changed. Since the early 1980s, the proportion of squamous cell lung cancer has declined. Since 2004, adenocarcinoma has become the most common histological type of lung cancer in the world. In 2020, China had the largest cases of newly diagnosed lung cancer in the world. From 1989 to 2008, urban-rural ratio of lung cancer incidence dropped from 2.07 to 1.14. In economically underdeveloped areas, the incidence of lung cancer was also rising, and the situation in some areas with high incidence of lung cancer had been controlled. China, as the largest tobacco producer and consumer country, has to be serious with the control of tobacco. Risk of lung cancer caused by environmental pollution is gradually lower. Controlling occupational exposure is also the key to preventing lung cancer in China, and establishing a mornitoring network for risk factors is the direction in future.

    Abstract Reactive polyurethane hot-melt resin (moisture-cured reactive polyurethane, PUR) could successfully be prepared from poly(tetramethylene ether) glycol (PTMG), castor oil and dimethylglyoxime (DMG) by one or two-stage synthesis. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis showed that the synthesis resins belonged to NCO-capped castor oil-based polyurethane. The thermal behaviors of the cured PUR were analyzed by differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA) instruments. The results showed that the cured resin provided remeltable properties under the dosages of 3 wt% DMG. Furthermore, the phenomenon could be proved by FTIR analysis according to the characteristic absorption peak of NCO groups after the cured resin was heated. Comparing different syntheses, the resin prepared by one-stage synthesis showed random distribution of DMG with PUR structure and that prepared by two-stage synthesis had distribution of DMG with branching structure in the prepolymer. The former obtained lower remeltable temperatures from 90 to 130 °C than the latter temperatures, which had temperatures above 125 °C. The tensile test showed that all of the PUR films exhibited typical tough behavior. Thus, the cured resin with DMG dosages of 3 wt% provided remeltable and mechanical properties at the same time. Overall, the crosslinking density and numbers of dynamic bonds should be kept in balance for preparation of remeltable PUR.

    Abstract In recent years, with the development of science and technology, powerful computing devices have been constantly developing. As an important foundation, deep learning (DL) technology has achieved many successes in multiple fields. In addition, the success of deep learning also relies on the support of large-scale datasets, which can provide models with a variety of images. The rich information in these images can help the model learn more about various categories of images, thereby improving the classification performance and generalization ability of the model. However, in real application scenarios, it may be difficult for most tasks to collect a large number of images or enough images for model training, which also restricts the performance of the trained model to a certain extent. Therefore, how to use limited samples to train the model with high performance becomes key. In order to improve this problem, the few-shot learning (FSL) strategy is proposed, which aims to obtain a model with strong performance through a small amount of data. Therefore, FSL can play its advantages in some real scene tasks where a large number of training data cannot be obtained. In this review, we will mainly introduce the FSL methods for image classification based on DL, which are mainly divided into four categories: methods based on data enhancement, metric learning, meta-learning and adding other tasks. First, we introduce some classic and advanced FSL methods in the order of categories. Second, we introduce some datasets that are often used to test the performance of FSL methods and the performance of some classical and advanced FSL methods on two common datasets. Finally, we discuss the current challenges and future prospects in this field.
