Abstract Traditional apple-picking robots are unable to detect apples in real-time in complex environments. In order to improve detection efficiency, a fast CenterNet apple recognition method for multiple apple targets in dense scenes is proposed. This method can quickly and accurately identify multiple apple targets in dense scenes. The backbone network mainly consists of resnet-44 fully convolutional network, region of interest network (RPN), and region of interest (ROI). The experimental results show that the improved YoloV5 network model has a higher recognition accuracy of 94.1% and 95.8% for apple in the night environment, which improves the recognition accuracy of the occluded features and the features in the dark light, and the model is more robust in the actual data set.

Abstract Metagenome next generation sequencing (mNGS) is an important method for pathogen diagnosis of lower respiratory tract infection, but there are many difficulties in interpreting mNGS reports. The Expert Consensus on Clinical Interpretation Path of mNGS of Lower Respiratory Tract Infection, completed by Chinese Thoracic Society, provides a detailed path and guidance for report interpretation. The expert consensus covers clinical medicine, microbiology, molecular diagnosis and other aspects. On this basis, several important clinical issues need to be highlighted. First, the lower respiratory tract specimens used for mNGS must be obtained in a timely and qualified manner. Second, the correct interpretation of the mNGS report needs to be based on a full understanding of the patients and their conditions. Third, the quality of the report should be analyzed according to the main parameters in the mNGS report. Fourth, an understanding of basic microbiology knowledge is beneficial to identify valuable pathogens in the mNGS report. Fifth, other microbiological methods should be actively used during mNGS detection. Sixth, to seek the help of the team when necessary and organize multidisciplinary discussions are vital. Seventh, it is important to constantly adjust the diagnosis and treatment strategies according to the clinical treatment response to treatment and the evolution of the disease. In a word, the interpretation of mNGS results needs to refer to specimen types and sequencing parameters, to combine with the specific conditions of patients in detail, to collect a variety of microbiological test results, to carefully screen and make judgement according to the treatment effect and disease outcome, and finally to make the diagnosis. The interpretation of mNGS report also requires us to have more knowledge of microbiology, sequencing and bioinformatics analysis, and to pay more attention to the strength of the team to discriminate the truth in multidisciplinary collaboration.

Abstract Background: Evidence on treatment modalities and survival in childhood primary brain and central nervous system (CNS) tumors remains contradictory, with previous studies often lacking sufficient patient cohort sizes to assess the differences in histological subtypes. This cohort study based on a large population investigated the effects of various treatments on the mortality of patients with different histological types of primary brain and CNS tumors from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database.
Methods: Data of demography, primary tumor site, histology, tumor grade and treatments from all pediatric patients with primary brain and CNS tumors were extracted in this retrospective cohort. The outcomes were overall, 1-, 5-, and 10-year all-cause mortality. Multivariate Cox proportional hazards models were to explore the associations of treatment with overall, 1-, 5-, and 10-year all-cause mortality, with hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs).
Results: Totally 10,994 children were included, with the mean age at diagnosis of 7.3 years, and the median follow-up time of 5.0 years. Of which, 2,003 (18.2%) were diffuse astrocytoma, 3,188 (29.0%) were embryonal tumors, and 3,691 (33.5%) were malignant glioma. Then 4,333 (39.41%) children died during the follow-up. For diffuse astrocytomas and malignant gliomas, patients who received all other treatments were associated with overall, 1-, 5- and 10-year all-cause mortality compared to those only received resection. Embryonal tumors patients receiving resection with radiation only and those receiving resection with both chemotherapy and radiation were associated with lower odds of overall, 1-, 5- and 10-year all-cause mortality compared to patients who only received resection. For ependymal tumors, no surgery/only biopsy with chemotherapy, resection with chemotherapy only, resection with both chemotherapy and radiation, and other treatments had increased risks of overall all-cause mortality compared with resection. The risk of 1-year all-cause mortality increased in ependymal tumors with treatment involving resection and radiation. However, resection with both chemotherapy and radiation was not significantly associated with the 1- nor 5-year all-cause mortality.
Conclusions: Resection may be recommended for children with diffuse astrocytoma, ependymal tumors, and malignant glioma, while resection with radiotherapy or chemoradiation may be recommended for children with embryonal tumors.

Abstract Drawing the clothing plan is an essential part of the clothing industry. However, the irregular shape of clothing, strong deformability and sensitivity to light make the fast and accurate realization of clothing image retrieval a very challenging problem. The successful application of the Transformer in image recognition shows the application potential of the Transformer in the image field. This article proposes an efficient and improved clothing plan based on ResNet-50. Firstly, in the feature extraction section, the ResNet-50 network structure embedded in the Transformer module is used to improve the network's receptive field range and feature extraction ability. Secondly, dense jump connections are added to the ResNet-50 upsampling process, making full use of feature extraction information at each stage, further improving the quality of the generated image. The network consists of three steps: the sketch stage, which aims to predict the color distribution of clothing and obtain watercolor images without gradients and shadows. The second is the thinning stage, which refines the watercolor image into a clothing image with light and shadow effect; The third is the optimization stage, which combines the outputs of the first two stages to optimize the generation quality further. The experimental results show that the improved network's IS and first input delay (FID) scores are 4.592 and 1.506, respectively. High-quality clothing images can be generated only by inputting line drawings and a few color points. Compared with the existing methods, the image generated by this network has excellent advantages in realism and accuracy. This method can combine various feature information of images, improve retrieval accuracy, has strong robustness and practicability, and can provide a reference for the daily work of fashion designers.

Abstract Based on a sample of Employee Stock Ownership Plans announced by Chinese listed companies, this paper explores whether managers learn from the market in the decision relating to the termination of the Employee Stock Ownership Plan. Results show that: Managers listen to the market and terminate Employee Stock Ownership Plans following market expectations. The more negative the market reaction to the initial announcement, the more likely management is to terminate it, and this effect is more pronounced for firms with non-overconfident managers and in lower market share rank. Moreover, the initial announcement return is reversed by the termination announcement return. When managers follow market expectations to terminate the Employee Stock Ownership Plan with a negative market reaction to the initial announcement, the market reaction to the termination is more positive. Further research finds that compared with the terminations of Employee Stock Ownership Plans that are not consistent with market expectations, the terminations that follow market expectations improve business performance more significantly.

Abstract Bifunctional antisense oligonucleotide (AON) is a specially designed AON to regulate pre-messenger RNA (pre-mRNA) splicing of a target gene. It is composed of two domains. The antisense domain contains sequences complementary to the target gene. The tail domain includes RNA sequences that recruit RNA binding proteins which may act positively or negatively in pre-mRNA splicing. This approach can be designed as targeted oligonucleotide enhancers of splicing, named TOES, for exon inclusion; or as targeted oligonucleotide silencers of splicing, named TOSS, for exon skipping. Here, we provide detailed methods for the design of TOES for exon inclusion, using SMN2 exon 7 splicing as an example. A number of annealing sites and the tail sequences previously published are listed. We also present methodology of assessing the effects of TOES on exon inclusion in fibroblasts cultured from a SMA patient. The effects of TOES on SMN2 exon 7 splicing were validated at RNA level by PCR and quantitative real-time PCR, and at protein level by western blotting.

Abstract Artificial intelligence (AI) has developed rapidly in the field of ophthalmology. Fundus images have become a research hotspot because they are easy to obtain and rich in biological information. The application of fundus image analysis (AI) in background image analysis has been deepened and expanded. At present, a variety of AI studies have been carried out in the clinical screening, diagnosis, and prognosis of eye diseases, and the research results have been gradually applied to clinical practice. The application of AI in fundus image analysis will improve the situation of lack of medical resources and low diagnosis efficiency. In the future, the research of AI eye images should focus on the comprehensive intelligent diagnosis of various ophthalmic diseases and complex diseases. The focus is to integrate standardized and high-quality data resources, improve algorithm efficiency, and formulate corresponding clinical research plans.
