    Abstract Having good English writing skills is extremely important for students in polytechnic institutions. However, a lot of students in technical schools have difficulties in reaching high levels of skill. The Input Hypothesis, created by Stephen Krashen, suggests that people learn languages well when they receive information that's a little harder than what they already know but still understandable. This research paper wants to study how the Input Hypothesis can help polytechnic students improve their English writing skills. The study will include real-life observations and experiments from the previous research. We will look at data from polytechnic students who are receiving special writing instruction to see if the Input Hypothesis actually helps improve their writing skills. The paper can better inform polytechnic students, faculty members, and support staff and even members of the larger community about the attributions, the processes, and the possible outcomes of second language development for polytechnic students.     Abstract Chat GPT belongs to the category of Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) language models, which have received specialized training to produce text based on natural language inputs. Its purpose is to imitate human-like conversation and can be implemented in multiple applications, such as chatbots, virtual assistants, and language translation systems, starting with an introduction to the new trends and differences between artificial intelligence, machine learning, and artificial neural networks, and highlighting the rigorous language logic and powerful text generation capabilities of Chat GPT. This paper delves into how advances in artificial intelligence will shape e-learning in the coming decades, particularly in terms of Chat- GPT's ability to improve learners' Communicative Competence when English is a second language. The combination of new trends in artificial intelligence, mainly in the particular case of English as a second language, and, at the academic level, chatbot technology, will be the next step in the replacement of the human academic community by virtual assistants, apparently until a certain point. Despite the controversy, this very innovative solution will be able to bridge the gap between technology and education. Moreover, such innovative practices facilitate communication by enabling its inclusion in various applications, including virtual assistants, chatbots, and language education.     Abstract The direct coupling of solid-phase microextraction (SPME) with mass spectrometry (MS) offers rapid analysis with high sensitivity and low matrix effects by benefiting from the integration of sampling, high enrichment, and clean-up functions of SPME. Eliminating chromatographic separation reduces the amount of gas/solvent needed for analysis, while direct desorption in SPME-MS consumes none or few microliters of organic solvents per sample, further enhancing the greenness of the SPME technology. Over the past two decades, the rapid evolution of SPME-MS has given rise to numerous novel technologies that employ diverse ionization techniques and interfaces, several of which have already been commercialized. Drawing from an extensive review published earlier this year and our research experience, we provide perspectives on three aspects of these technologies: interface design and automation, integration with state-of-art MS instrumentation, and anticipated future developments.

    Abstract Antibodies specifically recognizing integral membrane proteins are essential tools for functional analysis, diagnosis, and therapeutics targeting membrane proteins. However, developing antibodies against membrane proteins remains a big challenge because mass production of membrane proteins is difficult. Recently, we developed a highly efficient cell-free production method of proteoliposome antigen using a cell-free protein synthesis method with liposome and dialysis cup. Here, we introduce practical and efficient integrated procedures to produce a large amount of proteoliposome antigen for anti-membrane protein antibody development.

    Abstract Primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS) is an autoimmune disorder characterised by immune-driven damage to the exocrine glands, leading to diminished salivary and tear production. While the pathogenesis of pSS remains incompletely understood, its clinical presentations vary widely, and no specific treatments are currently available. Toll-like receptor 7 (TLR7) belongs to the Toll-like receptor family and is crucial for the innate immune response, notably in recognising pathogenic patterns. TLR7 is predominantly found in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and endosomes, where it identifies single-stranded RNA (ssRNA). Upon ligand binding, TLR7 activates the Myd88-dependent signalling cascade, eliciting an immune response.Dysregulation and variations in TLR7 expression are implicated in several autoimmune disorders. In genetically predisposed individuals, factors such as infections, endocrinological abnormality and metabolic abnormalities can cause TLR7 dysregulation, aggravating pSS symptoms and progression. While studies on TLR7 in pSS are limited, they offer insights into the disease's pathophysiological processes, vital for the treatment and prognosis. This article explores the mechanisms of TLR7 dysregulation, its involvement in pSS pathogenesis, and prospective therapeutic significance.

    Abstract Purpose: Angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels, plays a crucial role in tumor growth and metastasis. Understanding the vascular characteristics of colorectal cancer through preoperative computed tomography (CT) perfusion parameters can provide valuable insights into the tumor's aggressiveness and potential for spread. Additionally, exploring the correlation between these parameters and serum tumor marker levels may offer a comprehensive perspective on the disease's biological behavior.
    Methods: In this retrospective study, we investigated 42 colorectal cancer patients. Based on microvascular density (MVD) measured by immunohistochemistry (IHC), participants were categorized into either a high-density group (n = 24) with MVD ≥ 35/field of view or a low-density group (n = 18) with MVD < 35/field of view. Additionally, a control group comprised 25 patients with pathologically confirmed benign colorectal lesions. This study design allowed us to assess the correlation between MVD and colorectal cancer, differentiating between high and low microvascular density groups, while also comparing results to a control group for comprehensive analysis.
    Results: Colorectal cancer was associated with significantly higher levels of blood volume (BV; high-density group: 7.65±1.36 mL/100g; low-density group: 6.73±1.29 mL/100g), blood flow (BF; high-density group: 67.33±12.16 ml/(100g·min); low-density group: 52.84±11.43 ml/(100g·min)), permeability surface (PS; high-density group: 35.19±6.32 ml/(100g·min); low-density group: 22.27±4.85 ml/(100g·min)), serum glycoprotein antigen 19-9 (CA19-9; high-density group: 45.38±5.41 g/ml); low-density group: 23.43±3.59 g/ml), glycoprotein antigen 125 (CA125; high-density group: 27.56±3.73 g/ml); low-density group: 12.63±2.59 g/ml), and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA; high-density group: 17.87±3.12 g/ml); low-density group: 8.51±2.87 g/ml) versus benign colorectal lesions, with more significant changes observed in the high-density group versus the low-density group (P ≤ .001). The three groups showed similar mean transit time (MTT). The AUCs under the ROC curves for BV, BF, PS, and TTP were 0.901, 0.898, 0.963, and 0.983, respectively. Pearson correlation analysis showed a positive correlation of patients' serum CA19-9 with BV, BF, and PS., Serum CA125 and CEA were positively correlated with BF and PS, and the above indicators were negatively correlated with TTP.
    Conclusions: In conclusion, our study highlights the potential of preoperative CT perfusion imaging as a valuable tool for evaluating angiogenesis in colorectal cancer and its correlation with serum tumor markers. The identified associations open avenues for further research to delve into specific aspects of angiogenesis and tumor markers. Future investigations could focus on elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying the observed correlations, potentially identifying novel therapeutic targets. Additionally, exploring the dynamic changes in angiogenesis and tumor markers during different stages of colorectal cancer progression may provide a more comprehensive understanding. Moreover, assessing the prognostic value of these imaging and biomarker correlations in larger, diverse patient cohorts could enhance their clinical utility. Our findings lay the groundwork for these future research directions, emphasizing the need for continued exploration to advance our knowledge and improve clinical strategies for colorectal cancer management.
