Abstract Abstract Greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere have had devastating environmental effects, including ozone depletion and global warming. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is widely used in oil and gas plants, the food industry, and as a working fluid in the power industry. Carbon dioxide is liquefied for long‐term storage, to be transported to remote areas, and is used for peak shaving in the power plants. Solar flat plate collectors and wasted heat from the CO2 liquefaction system can be used in power plant systems. Also, the use of nanoparticles in the collectors improves the thermal properties of the working fluid and increases the efficiency of solar collectors. This study has developed a new hybrid system for CO2 liquefaction using Linde–Hampson system, Kalina power generation unit, and flat plate solar collectors. The Linde–Hampson system's dissipated heat and solar collectors are used to supplying part of the power of the CO2 liquefaction system. The combined system produces 9416 kmol/h of liquid CO2 by absorbing 35.97 MW of power. The Kalina power generation unit provides 9.546 MW of power by absorbing 76.98 MW of the CO2 liquefaction cycle's dissipated heat and 91.18 MW from flat plate collectors. Based on the output of exergy assessment, exergy efficiency and exergy degradation of the developed integrated structure are 44.16% and 118.3 MW, respectively. Moreover, significant portions of exergy destruction in the combined process belong to solar collectors (74.68%), heat exchangers (12.47%), and compressors (7.157%), respectively. The use of Al2O3 nanoparticles in pure water has been investigated for heat transfer in flat panel solar collectors. According to the sensitivity analysis results, as the volume ratio of particles in nanofluid increases to 6%, the production capacity of the Kalina cycle and exergy efficiency improves to 9.56 MW and 9.522%, respectively. Also, as the pressure of the pumped fluid in the Kalina cycle increases from 800 to 1600 kPa, the exergy yield of the Kalina cycle and the exergy ...

Abstract David Lawrence Sackett, OC, MD, FRSC, FRCP was an American-Canadian physician, trialist, and teacher. He is best known as one of the pioneers of evidence-based medicine (EBM), which is arguably the most important movement in medicine over the past three decades. He founded the first clinical epidemiology department in McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada in 1967. In addition, he was the head of the Center for the Evidence-Based Medicine in Oxford, UK. He also was the first chair of Cochrane Collaboration and the first founding coeditor of the journal of Evidence-Based Medicine and had many other honors. He published 12 books, 60 chapters in other books, and about 300 articles in scientific and medical journals. He died on May 13, 2015 at age 80 because of cholangiocarcinoma. While Dr. Sackett will be missed by his friends, colleagues, mentees as well as EBM proponents and followers all over the world, his contributions to EBM in particular, and to medicine in general will never be forgotten.

Abstract Background: Bufavirus (BuV), Human Cosavirus (HCoSV), and Saffold (SAFV) virus are three newly discovered viruses and have been suggested as possible causes of gastroenteritis (GE) in some studies. The aim of the present study was to estimate the overall prevalence of viruses and their association with GE.Methods: A comprehensive systematic search was conducted in Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, and Google scholar between 2007 and 2021 to find studies on the prevalence of BuV, HCoSV, and SAFV viruses.Result: Meta-analysis of the 46 included studies showed the low prevalence of BuV (1.%, 95% CI 0.6–1.5%), HCoSV (0.8%, 95% CI 0.4–1.5%), and SAFV (1.9%, 95% CI 1.1–3.1%) worldwide. Also, no significant association between these viruses and GE was observed. BuV was isolated from patients with GE in Africa, while SAFV was more common in Europe. BuV1 and BuV2 have the same prevalence between the three identified genotypes of BuV. HCoSV-C was the most prevalent genotype of HCoSV, and SAFV2 was the commonest genotype of SAFV. All of these viruses were more prevalent in children older than 5 years of age. Conclusion: This was the first meta-analysis on the prevalence and association of BuV, HCoSV, and SAFV with GE. While no significant association was found between infection with these viruses and GE, we suggest more studies, especially with case-control design and from different geographical regions in order to enhance our knowledge of these viruses.

Abstract Organic academia are diverse group of disorders characterized by abnormal degredation of specific amino acid in the specific catabolism due to an enzymeactivity defect which mainly due to enzyme deficiency. The majority of the classic organic acid disorders are caused by abnormal catabolism of branched-chain amino acids like lysine. maple syrup urine disease (MSUD), propionic acidemia, methylmalonic acidemia (MMA), Ethylmalonic academia, glutaricacidemia type I and so on. The most common presentation is related to toxic encephalopathy which are as follows: vomiting, poor feeding, neurologic symptoms such as seizures and abnormal tone, and lethargy progressing to coma and the outcome may be loss of intellectual function, ataxia, psychiatric symptoms and other neurological deficit.Along with laboratory tests, Imaging have some characteristic findings in determination of these wide range of disease and can help in categorization and differentiation these form of brain metabolic disorders in conjunction by other investigative study. In this lecture trying to review imaging findings of more common organic academia in children will be done.

Abstract According to evidence-based medicine, randomized controlled clinical trials are a group of research designs which provides the highest level of clinical evidence, particularly regarding therapeutic or preventive interventions. Considering the dramatic increase in the number of published clinical trials in medical journals, the readership need to have knowledge about the problems that may occur during design and conduct of these studies, as well as about proper reporting of them. Due to importance of these studies in clinical medicine, several guidelines have been developed regarding designing, conducting and reporting clinical trials. One of the most important guidelines which has been developed to alleviate the problems in reporting randomized clinical trials is Consolidated Standards for Reporting Trials (CONSORT). In this article, some crucial points with regards to the report of the comparison of outcomes of interventions in randomized controlled trials will be reviewed briefly.

Abstract "nIn the recent years, advances in different fields of technology have been resulted in a dramatic increase in the diagnostic methods and tests in different branches of clinical medicine with a consequent increase in the number of scientific publications related to the application of those tests and methods in the diagnosis or prevention of diseases. Dermatology is not an exception. Since, evidence-based medicine emphasizes on the appropriate use of the current best clinical research evidence in the diagnosis or treatment of each individual patient acknowledging his/her values, the capability of dermatologists in appraisal and application of the publications, which reports the results of diagnostic test accuracy studies cannot be ignored. In this article, after a brief review on basic issues in diagnostic test accuracy studies, principles of critical appraisal of these studies, from an evidence-based viewpoint, will be discussed. General strategies for evaluation of validity, applicability and quality assessment of a diagnostic test study will be provided.

Abstract Background and Aim: Mycosis fungoides (MF) is the most common primary cutaneous lymphoma. Diagnosis of early MF (eMF) is often difficult due to its resemblance of benign dermatoses. The aim of this study was to evaluate the role of provided clinical information on the histopathology request forms for diagnosis of eMF according to the International Society of Cutaneous Lympoma (ISCL) criteria. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 108 patients admitted to Razi Hospital, Tehran, between April 2012 and November 2013, who were biopsied as eMF cases, were recruited. Based on partial application of ISCL algorithm, the checklist of clinical and histopathological findings were scored. Results: Eighty-five (78.7%) patients received maximum total clinical and histopathological scores (4) and their eMF were definitely diagnosed. Sixteen (14.8%) patients received a total score of 3, and suggestive eMF diagnosis was made. Further work up such as immunohistochemistry (IHC) evaluation were recommended. Seven patients (6.5%) received a total score of 2, which did not confirm eMF diagnosis. Follow up was recommended. In 14 (87.5%) of 16 patients who had received a total score of 3, the definite diagnosis of eMF was made according to the results of IHC. They were referred to receive treatment. In 2 patients (12.5%) diagnosis of eMF were not confirmed by IHC. They were recommended to undergo polymerase chain reaction (PCR) evaluation Conclusion: Many MF cases can be diagnosed in the early stages using a combination of clinical and histopathological criteria.
