    Abstract Worldwide, one out of every three individuals requires assistive products to enjoy and exercise their human rights. In certain nations, only 3% have access to the assistive products they need. Digital technology, and specifically digital health interventions, stands as a powerful solution to improve access and maximize the benefits for users, their families, service providers, and society. Digital health interventions can enable user engagement, support service planning and monitoring, streamline procurement and stock management, boost service efficiency and coverage, and provide avenues for workforce competency development. By harnessing the potential of digital health, universal access to assistive technology can be accelerated.

    Abstract Objective: To explore the impact on risk factors for recurrent stroke after gait training among persons restricted in walking in the chronic phase after stroke.
    Methods: In this randomized controlled trial, two groups performed gait training, 1 session/day, 3 days/week for 6 weeks, including electromechanically assisted gait training on a treadmill (EAGT) (n=12) or variable conventional gait training only (n=15); a control group (n=11) continued as usual. Endurance assessed with the 6-minute walk test, blood pressure, weight and blood samples were collected at baseline and after 6 weeks. Total Cholesterol, High Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol, and Triglycerides in plasma, and HbA1c in blood (reflecting glucose levels) were analysed.
    Results: The EAGT group walked more than twice the distance compared to the Conventional training group while the effective training time was similar. Endurance in walking increased most in the Conventional group while the Control group declined. Systolic blood pressure decreased most in the Conventional group, with a moderate effect size (ŋp2) of 0.0921 (95% confidence interval (CI)0.0012-0.2598). Body weight decreased most in the EAGT group with a large effect size (ŋp2) of 0.1406 (95% CI0.0047-0.3452). Lipid levels exhibited non-conclusive changes and HbA1c did not change significantly in any group.
    Conclusions: Results indicate that six weeks of gait training may change risk factors for recurrent stroke even in persons restricted in mobility and that different training methods may have differential effects. These findings are in agreement with previous studies in less severely disabled persons and should encourage further studies in the current subgroup.

    Abstract Since the formation of the Solar System some 4.55 billion years ago, the Sun has provided the necessary conditions to allow life on Earth to begin forming, evolve and thrive. As a main sequence star, the Sun is exhausting its reserves of hydrogen at its core over time as it is fused into helium. Once this process – known as solar reddening – has been completed and helium fusion begins in the core, the Sun will become a red giant. This evolution will lead to fluctuations in the solar properties such as mass, luminosity, radius and surface temperature. While solar-reddening will likely be catastrophic for the inner-most planets, it could present an opportunity for Saturn’s moon Titan and the dwarf planet Pluto as the Sun’s luminosity increases. Titan and Pluto are of significant interest due to their photochemically-active atmospheres, both of which are mostly made up of nitrogen with traces of methane. We will present a model for simulating planetary atmospheres in orbit around reddening stars, with case-studies investigating how Titan and Pluto’s atmospheric and surface conditions will change between the solar ages of 4.55 and 12.15 Gyr. Our model builds upon the TitanIC (Titan Irradiative Chemistry) model, first created by Borg (2015). We will also present how the model can also be used to simulate exoplanet atmospheres of known initial compositions for a host star with a given set of solar parameters. Borg, J., 2015.     Abstract Background:  The internet of things (IoT) is recognized as a valuable approach to supporting health care to achieve quality and person-centered care. This study aims to identify the facilitators and barriers associated with implementing IoT solutions in health care within a Scandinavian context. It addresses the pressing need to adapt health care systems to the demographic changes occurring in Scandinavia. The vision of "Vision eHealth 2025," a long-term strategic direction for digitalization in Sweden, serves as the background for this project. The implementation of IoT solutions is a crucial aspect of achieving the vision's goal of making Sweden a global leader in using digitalization and eHealth opportunities by 2025. IoT is recognized as a valuable approach to supporting health care to achieve quality and person-centered care. Previous research has shown that there is a gap in our understanding of social and organizational challenges related to IoT and that the implementation and introduction of new technology in health care is often problematic.
    Objective:  In this study, we will identify facilitating and hindering factors for the implementation of IoT solutions in social and health care.
    Methods:  We will use an explorative design with a case study approach. The data collection will comprise questionnaires and qualitative interviews. Also, a literature review will be conducted at the start of the project. Thus, quantitative and qualitative data will be collected concurrently and integrated into a convergent mixed methods approach.
    Results:  As of June 2023, data for the review and 22 interviews with the stakeholders have been performed. The co-design with stakeholders will be performed in the fall of 2023.
    Conclusions:  This study represents a unique and innovative opportunity to gain new knowledge relevant and useful for future implementation of new technology at health care organizations so they can continue to offer high-quality, person-centered care. The outcomes of this research will contribute to a better understanding of the conditions necessary to implement and fully use the potential of IoT solutions. By developing cocreated implementation strategies, the study seeks to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Ultimately, this project aims to facilitate the adoption of IoT solutions in health care for promoting improved patient care and using technology to meet the evolving needs of health care.

    Abstract Introduction: Electromechanically-assisted gait training has been introduced in stroke rehabilitation as a means to enable gait training with a large number of reproducible and symmetrical task repetitions, i.e. steps. However, few studies have evaluated its impact on gait pattern functions. This study includes persons with no independent ambulation function at the start of a 4-week neurorehabilitation period in the sub-acute phase after stroke. The primary aim of the study was to evaluate whether the addition of electromechanically-assisted gait training to conventional training resulted in better gait pattern function than conventional training alone. The secondary aim was to identify correlations between overall gait quality and standardized clinical assessments.
    Participants and methods: Seventeen patients with no independent ambulation function who participated in a Prospective Randomized Open Blinded End-point study in the sub-acute phase after stroke were randomized into two groups; one group (
    Results: Both the CONV and HAL groups exhibited similar gait patterns with no significant differences between groups in any kinematic, kinetic parameters or other spatiotemporal metrics.     Discussion: This finding raises new questions about how to best design effective and optimal post-stroke rehabilitation programs in patients with moderate to severe gait impairments to achieve both independent walking and optimal gait pattern function, and about which patients should be in focus in further studies on the efficacy of electromechanically-assisted gait training.
