Abstract Ethnopharmacological relevance: Kai-Xin-San (KXS) is a classic herbal formula for the treatment and prevention of AD (Alzheimer's disease) with definite curative effect, but its mechanism, which involves multiple components, pathways, and targets, is not yet fully understood.
Aim of the study: To verify the effect of KXS on gut microbiota and explore its anti-AD mechanism related with gut microbiota.
Materials and methods: AD rat model was established and evaluated by intraperitoneal injection of D-gal and bilateral hippocampal CA1 injections of Aβ
Results: KXS could significantly improve cognitive impairment, reduce neuronal damage and attenuate neuroinflammation and colonic inflammation in vivo in AD model rats. Nine differential intestinal bacteria associated with AD were screened, in which four bacteria (Lactobacillus murinus, Ligilactobacillus, Alloprevotella, Prevotellaceae_NK3B31_group) were very significant.
Conclusion: KXS can maintain the ecological balance of intestinal microbiota and exert its anti-AD effect by regulating the composition and proportion of gut microbiota in AD rats through the microbiota-gut-brain axis.

Abstract Change detection for remote sensing images is widely applied for urban change detection, disaster assessment and other fields. However, most of the existing CNN-based change detection methods still suffer from the problem of inadequate pseudo-changes suppression and insufficient feature representation. In this work, an unsupervised change detection method based on Task-related Self-supervised Learning Change Detection network with smooth mechanism(TSLCD) is proposed to eliminate it. The main contributions include: (1) the task-related self-supervised learning module is introduced to extract spatial features more effectively. (2) a hard-sample-mining loss function is applied to pay more attention to the hard-to-classify samples. (3) a smooth mechanism is utilized to remove some of pseudo-changes and noise. Experiments on four remote sensing change detection datasets reveal that the proposed TSLCD method achieves the state-of-the-art for change detection task.

Abstract A porphyrin-containing copolymer has dual-sensing in response to metal ions and temperature as a novel nanosensor. Triggered by ions, the sensor exhibits full-color tunable behavior as a cationic detector and colorimeter. Responding to temperature, the sensor displays an “isothermal” thermochromic point as an ultra-sensitive thermometer.

Abstract Two end-decorated homopolymers, poly(styrene)-beta-cyclodextrin (PS-beta-CD) and poly(ethylene oxide)-ferrocene (PEO-Fc), can orthogonally self-assemble into a supramolecular diblock copolymer (PS-beta-CD/PEO-Fc) in aqueous solutions based on the terminal host-guest interactions. These assemblies can further form supramolecular vesicles, and their assembly and disassembly behaviors can be reversibly switched by voltage through the reversible association and disassociation of the middle supramolecular connection. The vesicles possess an unprecedented property that their assembly or disassembly speed can be controlled by the applied voltage strength. Luminescence spectroscopy demonstrates that the vesicles act as nanocapsules carrying molecules within their hollow cavities and that the external voltage strength accurately regulates the drug release time.
