Abstract This paper aims to study the development path of green, low-carbon and environmental protection industries under the new situation. Currently, the green, low-carbon and environmental protection industry has become an important field for economic and social development. This paper proposes two key development paths, namely strengthening policy guidance and promoting technological innovation, by outlining the current status of the green, low-carbon and environmental protection industry. In terms of policy guidance, it is recommended that the government develop supportive policies and regulatory measures to guide and promote industry development. In terms of technological innovation, it is recommended that enterprises strengthen independent innovation and technological cooperation to promote the innovation and application of green, low-carbon and environmental protection technologies. Through comprehensive analysis and empirical research, new ideas and references can be provided for the development of the green, low-carbon and environmental protection industry.

Abstract Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a global health problem that seriously threatens human health. Vitamin D (VD) has antidiabetic effects. However, the protective mechanism of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (1,25D) on T2DM is still unclear.
Methods: A rat model of T2DM was constructed using a high-fat diet combined with intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (STZ). Glucose tolerance was assessed by an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). Insulin secretion in blood and cell supernatant was determined by ELISA. Cell viability was analysed by CCK-8 assay. The level of ROS was detected by the DCFH-DA fluorescent probe method. The iron level in pancreatic tissues and cells was detected by an iron assay kit. Immunofluorescence staining was used to detect the expression of the pancreatic β cell marker CD49a. Furthermore, the protein expression levels of ferroptosis pathway-related proteins and vitamin D receptor (VDR) were detected by western blot. Downstream VDR targets were screened by proteomic sequencing.
Results: The DM group had increased glucose levels and decreased insulin secretion, while 1,25D treatment decreased glucose levels and increased insulin secretion. 1,25D also suppressed DM-induced ferroptosis in pancreatic tissues in vivo. In addition, 1,25D significantly enhanced the viability of pancreatic β cells and reduced the levels of ROS and iron. 1,25D significantly upregulated the expression of VDR and the ferroptosis-related pathway protein GPX4 and downregulated the expression of ACSL4. Furthermore, knockdown of VDR reversed the effects of 1,25D on cell viability, ROS and iron levels, and ferroptosis-related protein expression in pancreatic β cells. Proteomic sequencing revealed that FOXO1 was the downstream target gene of VDR. Knockdown of FOXO1 reduced pancreatic β cell death, decreased ROS, iron and ACSL4 levels, and increased GPX4 levels.
Conclusion: 1,25D/VDR inhibited pancreatic β cell ferroptosis in T2DM by downregulating the expression of FOXO1. This study provides a new theoretical basis for basic research on T2DM and is expected to establish a new idea for the treatment of T2DM.

Abstract Objectives: This study aimed to estimate the impact of sharing drug rebates at the point of sale on out-of-pocket spending by linking estimated rebates to administrative claims data for employer-sponsored insurance enrollees in 2018.
Methods: We applied the drug rebate rate to the retail price of each brand name drug fill, allocated the reductions to out-of-pocket spending based on cost-sharing provisions, and aggregated each individual's out-of-pocket spending across drug fills. We assumed that generic drugs have no rebates for employer-sponsored insurance. We assessed the impact of sharing rebates at the point of sale on out-of-pocket spending overall, for the therapeutic classes and specific drugs with the highest average out-of-pocket spending per user, and by health plan type.
Results: Across 4 simulations with different assumptions about the degree of cross-fill effects, we found that 10.4% to 12.2% of enrollees in our sample would have realized savings on out-of-pocket spending if rebates were shared to the point of sale. Among those with savings, approximately half would save $50 or less, and 10% would save > $500 annually. We calculated that a premium increase of $1.06 to $1.41 per member per month among the continuously enrolled, insured population would be sufficient to finance the out-of-pocket savings in our sample.
Conclusions: Our study suggests that, for a small percentage of enrollees, sharing drug rebates at the point of sale would likely improve the affordability of high-priced brand name drugs, especially drugs that face significant competition.

Abstract Tungsten (W) film is increasingly utilized in various microheater applications due to its numerous advantages. These advantages include a high melting point, positive constant temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR), good mechanical stability, and compatibility with semiconductor processes. In this paper, deposition parameters for enhancing the properties of W film were investigated, and an optimized microheater was fabricated. It was found that the deposition temperature and pressure can modify the TCR to be negative or positive and the crystalline phase of W films to be alpha phases or mixed with beta phases. A W film deposited under 650 °C with a pressure of 1 pa has a positive TCR and pure alpha phase crystalline structure. We applied this optimized W film as a microheater in an RF phase-change switch (RFPCS), and the maximum voltage of the optimized W microheater increased by at least 48% in this work. By optimizing the microheater, the phase-change switch can be successfully actuated in both on and off states, demonstrated by the Raman results of the phase-change material. A voltage pulse of 20 V/200 ns was enough to turn the switch off with MΩ, and 11 V/3 μs could turn the switch on with 138 Ω. The optimized microheater and device can cycle 500 times without failure. The insertion loss and isolation of the device at 20 GHz was 1.0 dB and 22 dB.

Abstract Tropical cyclone (TC)-induced coastal flooding can lead to severe hazards in low-lying lands and is expected to be exacerbated by sea level rise and TC climatology changes related to the warming climate. Since the dense population in Xiamen Bay, Fujian, China, it is highly valuable in understanding coastal flooding of it, but little studies involved this topic. In this study, we establish a high-resolution numerical model covering all coastal low-lying land in Xiamen Bay based on FVCOM. This model is then used to assess the flood risk in Xiamen Bay under TCs with 10-, 100-, and 1000-year pressures by applying a multi-tracks blend method. The results show that 126 km2 of low-lying area can be flooded periodically by astronomical tides; and 388, 504, and 598 km2 of low-lying area can be flooded under TCs with 10-, 100-, and 1000-year pressures, accompanied by increased average flood depths of 2.3, 2.8, and 3.4 m, respectively. By 2100 under SSP5-8.5, the well-protected Xiamen Island becomes impacted by TCs with 10-year pressure, and flood areas under TCs with 100-year pressure are estimated to be nearly equivalent to that under TCs with 1000-year pressure at the current climate. The most increased exposure area by climate change are artificial surfaces and agricultural areas, showing the potential higher flood disasters in future.

Abstract The joint clustering of multimodal remote sensing (RS) data poses a critical and challenging task in Earth observation. Although recent advances in multiview subspace clustering have shown remarkable success, existing methods become computationally prohibitive when dealing with large-scale RS datasets. Moreover, they neglect intrinsic nonlinear and spatial interdependencies among heterogeneous RS data and lack generalization ability for out-of-sample data, thereby restricting their applicability. This article introduces a novel unified framework called anchor-based multiview kernel subspace clustering with spatial regularization (AMKSC). It learns a scalable anchor graph in the kernel space, leveraging contributions from each modality instead of seeking a consensus full graph in the feature space. To ensure spatial consistency, we incorporate a spatial smoothing operation into the formulation. The method is efficiently solved using an alternating optimization strategy, and we provide theoretical evidence of its scalability with linear computational complexity. Furthermore, an out-of-sample extension of AMKSC based on multiview collaborative representation-based classification is introduced, enabling the handling of larger datasets and unseen instances. Extensive experiments on three real heterogeneous RS datasets confirm the superiority of our proposed approach over state-of-the-art methods in terms of clustering performance and time efficiency. Abstract Computer access has become essential for everyone to fully and equally participate in the society. Due to disability, aging, literacy or computer literacy related barriers, many people need to use an assistive/access technology (AT) to gain computer access. However, a majority of people facing access barriers are not getting proper AT partly due to a shortage of sufficiently trained professionals and difficulties in selecting AT by consumers themselves. Work of this dissertation was carried out as an effort to bridge knowledge gaps in the area of decision-making and decision-support for AT selection, and to provide design implications for a decision support tool that facilitates consumers in AT selection—the Shopping/Alerting Interface. This dissertation consists of 3 studies. Study 1 investigated how individual consumers (N = 8) select AT by themselves and how professionals (N = 10) select AT for clients, identified information needs, and drew implications for decision support design. This study inspired a support design that enables consumers to browse AT products by access needs/difficulties, in addition to browsing by product types/features (as in most shopping sites today). This study also highlighted the need of consumers to be able to search in their lay language, which led to Study 2—a vocabulary study on collecting words and phrases that consumers (N = 368) would naturally use to describe access needs/difficulties and access solutions. This vocabulary was integrated into the Shopping/Alerting Interface to enhance its free-text searching. As a result of Study 1 & 2, the user can browse and search for AT products by product types/features (feature-based support), or by access needs/difficulties (need-based support ). Study 3 empirically compared AT selection when consumers used feature-based support alone, need-based support alone, and both support methods together (hybrid support). The participants (N = 72) made better selections using need-based support than the conventional feature-based support. With need-based support, the participants also put forth less searching effort (fewer searches and fewer products explored in depth) and made as good selections as using hybrid support. However, the consumers preferred having both available (hybrid support), even though it did not significantly improve product choices. Implications were drawn for designing decision support systems.

Abstract Photodetectors (PDs) based on two-dimensional (2D) materials have promising applications in modern electronics and optoelectronics. However, due to the intralayer recombination of the photogenerated carriers and the inevitable surface trapping stages of the constituent layers, the PDs based on 2D materials usually suffer from low responsivity and poor response speed. In this work, a distinguished GaN-based photodetector is constructed on a sapphire substrate with Te/metal electrodes. Due to the metal-like properties of tellurium, the band bending at the interface between Te and GaN generates an inherent electric field, which greatly reduces the carrier transport barrier and promotes the photoresponse of GaN. This Te-enhanced GaN-based PD show a promising responsivity of 4951 mA/W, detectivity of 1.79 × 10

Abstract Diabetes is an age-related disease, most of which is type 2 diabetes, and islet β cell dysfunction and insulin resistance are the main mechanisms of type 2 diabetes. Recent studies have revealed that autophagy plays an important role in maintaining the structure and function of islet beta cells and inhibiting insulin resistance and apoptosis induced by oxidative stress. In this review, we discussed the positive and negative effects of autophagy and its dysfunction on type 2 diabetes mellitus, which is the so-called double-edged sword, analysed its possible mechanism, and identified possible research hot spots.
