Abstract "Livestock Ration Formulation for Dairy Cattle and Buffalo provides an interdisciplinary, integrative perspective and optimization on dairy cattle feed formulation problem solving. It helps dairy farmers by introducing them the right frequency and right amount of balanced diet to be fed to cattle's and buffaloes at different body condition so that their feeding cost should be decreased and there should be increase in income for dairy farmers, as they don't have enough knowledge of feeding practice. It helps animal nutritionist to work for dairy farmers which have very limited feed resources to fulfil nutrients requirement in terms of crude protein (CP), total digestible nutrient (TDN), calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) by developing a software programme to plan a balanced low budget diet.^

It includes the Linear and Goal programming model for non-pregnant dairy buffalo is been solved using Hybrid Real Coded Genetic Algorithm and the results are compared with Real Coded Genetic Algorithm (RGA) considering different versions like RGA without crossover, RGA without Mutation, RGA with crossover and mutation. These models can also be applied with other nutritional models like CNCPS, INRA. This book is a step forward in that direction to provide least cost diet formulation based on nutrient requirement of the cattle and buffalo, which is been calculated according to Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR, 2013) and NRC (2001) on dry matter basis, provides a clear and precise platform for other researcher in Animal Nutrition field which also give initial platform to build a software and android application to formulate least cost ration Based on data and algorithm used in this book, which helps Dairy farmers directly to feed balanced diet at cheap rate.^

Features: It is a good reference to local dairy farmers by introducing them to the right frequency and right amount of balanced diet to be fed to cattle and buffaloes at different production cycles. It will provide basic platform and some solutions to built-up software about cattle nutrition development and least cost formulation for end-user. It has several techniques for optimizing animal diet formulation but a good balance between coding/programming and animal nutrition is incorporated towards application of soft computing technique to improve the quality of the solution due to rigidity of the constraints"--

Abstract Fetal abdomino-pelvic cystic lesions are uncommon and can have varied etio-pathogenesis. Most commonly they originate from the gastrointestinal or genitourinary tract. These include choledochal cyst, hydronephrosis, renal cyst, mesenteric/omental cyst, ovarian cyst, meconium pseudocyst, and hydrocolpos/hydrometrocolpos among others. Fetal hydrometrocolpos is rare with a reported incidence of 0.006% and its diagnosis requires a high index of suspicion. Antenatal ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is invaluable in diagnostic evaluation. This case report describes the imaging features of antenatally detected congenital hydrometrocolpos with Mullerian duplication secondary to cloacal malformation using antenatal ultrasound and MRI. Per-operative findings and other possible differential diagnoses are discussed along with a brief review of literature.

Abstract The first example of a one-pot three-component tandem annulation approach is described for the synthesis of 2-iminothiazolidin-4-ones by the reaction of aromatic/aliphatic amines, aryl isothiocyanates, and ethyl bromoacetate, catalysed by guanine-functionalized SBA-16, [SBA-16@G], as an efficient and recyclable heterogeneous solid base catalyst. The methodology is simple and offers a broad-substrate scope under mild reaction conditions.

Abstract A simple non-hydrothermal method for the synthesis of maltodextrin functionalized SBA-16 (SBA-16@MD) is reported for selective adsorption of heavy metal ions (HMIs) including Cd²⁺, Zn²⁺, and Cu²⁺ from aqueous solution. The as-synthesized SBA-16@MD is fully characterized by FESEM, EDX, HRTEM, PXRD, solid-state ¹³C NMR spectrum, TGA, and BET surface area measurement. The HMIs adsorption was investigated for several parameters, for example, HMIs concentration, adsorbent dose, temperature, pH, contact time, and stirring speed. The SBA-16@MD shows high values of adsorption capacity for Cd²⁺ (575.53 mg/g), Zn²⁺ (564.67 mg/g), and Cu²⁺ (509.73 mg/g) respectively, at pH 6. The calculated adsorption data are best fitted with the Langmuir isotherm inferring homogeneous HMIs adsorption on the surface of SBA-16@MD. The kinetic data are consistent with the pseudo-second-order and intraparticle diffusion models. The calculated thermodynamic data reveals that the nature of adsorption is endothermic and spontaneous. The high values of adsorption capacity, SBA-16@MD for Cd²⁺, Zn²⁺, and Cu²⁺ can be explained based on electrostatic interactions and ion exchange taking place between the SBA-16@MD surface and HMIs.

Abstract The dairy farmers in the tropical region have limitations regarding “feedstuffs” available. A software program is required to meet the nutrient requirement with the available feeds at the cheapest cost. There are many techniques/software that are implemented to meet dairy animal nutrient requirements. However, there are no specific techniques that are appropriate for formulating rations for dairy cattle in the least cost manner. An android application Dairy Cattle Nutrition and Feed Calculator (DCN & FC) is developed with an aim of least-cost feed balancing system which will help a farmer to choose feeds to meet the nutrient requirement set for ration. The quantity of feed, fed to the cattle to meet the required needs, is determined by nutrient content, dry matter intake (DMI), crude protein (CP) and total digestible nutrients (TDN) of the feed. This program works in three phases. The first phase consists of creating equations for the estimation of DMI, TDN and CP based on the nutrient tables provided by ICAR (2013) for different categories of cattle such as Milch cattle, dry cattle, male calves, female calves and pre-ruminant animals for different physiological stages such as body weight, average daily gain, fat and milk, using regression analysis. The second phase is the development of a linear programming (LP) model to solve different cases of nutrient requirements for least cost. The final phase is the use of the android framework that uses linear programming to suggest sufficient feed that meets the nutrient requirements. The developed application is user friendly and available in different languages. With the combination of linear programming and regression analysis, the ration can be effectively formed using available feeds, and control the cost of the feeds.

  9. Artikel: Nutrient requirement equations for Indian goat by multiple regression analysis and least cost ration formulation using a linear and non‐linear stochastic model

Patil, Vishal / Gupta, Radha / Duraisamy, Rajendran / Kuntal, Ravinder Singh

Journal of animal physiology and animal nutrition. 2022 Sept., v. 106, no. 5

    2022

Abstract: An elaborate multiple regression analysis was done to arrive a nutrient requirement equation for goat including dry matter intake, DMI (kg/day), total digestible nutrient, TDN (g/day) and crude protein, CP (g/day) based on animal body weight (BW) (kg) ... ...

Abstract An elaborate multiple regression analysis was done to arrive a nutrient requirement equation for goat including dry matter intake, DMI (kg/day), total digestible nutrient, TDN (g/day) and crude protein, CP (g/day) based on animal body weight (BW) (kg) and average daily gain (ADG)(g/day). The derived equations were highly significant (p < 0.001) and had high R² (0.99) values. The estimated values of TDN, CP and DMI are compared with NRC (1981), Kearl (Nutrient Requirements of Ruminants in Developing Countries, All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, 1982), as well as ICAR (Livestock Management, 2013). The estimated total TDN and CP requirements at different body weights and ADG are close to the values of recommended feeding standards of Mandal et al. (Small Ruminant Res., 58, 2005, 201). The estimated DMI values are close to the values of ICAR (Livestock Management, 2013) but lower (26.5%–43.8%) as compared to NRC (1981). Regressed values are used to develop a linear programming (LP) model and a stochastic model (SM) for least‐cost ration formulation for the Indian goat breed, whose average BW is about 45 kg and ADG is 130 (g/day), and which is solved using LP simplex and Generalised Reduced Gradient (GRG) nonlinear of Microsoft Excel. The models satisfy the nutrient requirement calculated by regression equations with minimum specified level of variation (usually 5%–10%) in CP and TDN. Both methods adequately meet the nutritional requirements. Therefore, an electronic sheet is developed in Excel to calculate DMI, TDN and CP for different body weights, ADG and formulate the ration by LP and stochastic model.
