Abstract With the rapid development of information technology, artificial intelligence has demonstrated great potential in promoting educational transformation. In November 2022, the release of the artificial intelligence product ChatGPT attracted widespread attention, particularly in the field of education, sparking heated discussions among scholars. As a language processing tool, ChatGPT can not only answer user questions but also complete user-specified tasks and even continuously optimize task performance. However, while possessing powerful features, ChatGPT also has some shortcomings that need improvement, such as the accuracy of answering questions, data pollution issues, ethical and safety concerns, and the risk of knowledge plagiarism. In the process of promoting school education reform, the application of ChatGPT brings both opportunities and challenges. Moreover, ChatGPT's emergence offers teachers an opportunity to reflect on their professional value and sets higher demands for them.

Abstract Humans' early life experience varies by socioeconomic status (SES), raising the question of how this difference is reflected in the adult brain. An important aspect of brain function is the ability to detect salient ambient changes while focusing on a task. Here, we ask whether subjective social status during childhood is reflected by the way young adults' brain detecting changes in irrelevant information. In two studies (total n = 58), we examine electrical brain responses in the frontocentral region to a series of auditory tones, consisting of standard stimuli (80%) and deviant stimuli (20%) interspersed randomly, while participants were engaged in various visual tasks. Both studies showed stronger automatic change detection indexed by MMN in lower SES individuals, regardless of the unattended sound's feature, attended emotional content, or study type. Moreover, we observed a larger MMN in lower-SES participants, although they did not show differences in brain and behavior responses to the attended task. Lower-SES people also did not involuntarily orient more attention to sound changes (i.e., deviant stimuli), as indexed by the P3a. The study indicates that individuals with lower subjective social status may have an increased ability to automatically detect changes in their environment, which may suggest their adaptation to their childhood environments.

A Meta-Loss Reweighting Network for Biased Data on Text Classification

Abstract Artificially generated datasets often exhibit biases, leading conventional deep neural networks to overfit. Typically, a weighted function adjusts sample impact during model updates using weighted loss. Meta-neural networks, trained with meta-learning principles, generalize well across tasks, acquiring generalized weights. This enables the self-generation of tailored weighted functions for data biases. However, datasets may simultaneously exhibit imbalanced classes and corrupted labels, posing a challenge for current meta-models. To address this, this paper presents Meta-Loss Reweighting Network (MLRNet) with fusion attention features. MLRNet continually evolves sample loss values, integrating them with sample features from self-attention layers in a semantic space. This enhances discriminative power for biased samples. By employing minimal unbiased meta-data for guidance, mutual optimization between the classifier and the meta-model is conducted, endowing biased samples with more reasonable weights. Experiments on English and Chinese benchmark datasets including artificial and real-world biased data show MLRNet’s superior performance under biased data conditions.

Abstract A mononuclear copper(II) complex, [CuL] (1), and a phenolato-bridged trinuclear zinc(II) complex, [Zn3Cl2L2(DMF)2] (2), where L is the deprotonated form of N,N'-bis(4-bromosalicylidene)propane-1,3-diamine (H2L), have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, IR and UV-Vis spectroscopy, and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The Cu atom in complex 1 is in square planar coordination, while the terminal and central Zn atoms in complex 2 are in square pyramidal and octahedral coordination, respectively. The antibacterial activities of the complexes have been tested on the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, and the yeast Candida parapsilosis.

Abstract Background: We report on the case of a 21-year-old female who could not walk due to a huge Bartholin's cyst occupying the right vulvar region. The patient was treated by marsupialization of the Bartholin's cyst and postoperative antibiotic therapy.
Case summary: A 21-year-old female without a medical history of sexually transmitted diseases presented to our outpatient clinic with complaints of a painful vulvar lump and a green-yellowish discharge for 4 d. A large Bartholin's cyst, 10 cm in diameter, was suspected over the right side of the vulva. She was advised to be admitted to the ward for intravenous antibiotic treatment and to perform marsupialization several days later. However, the patient requested immediate surgery because of time limitations. The patient underwent marsupialization under local anesthesia. The procedure was well-tolerated. After making the incision, a significant amount of malodorous pus (approximately 30 mL) was removed from the abscess. The patient was followed up for 1 wk postoperatively. The Bartholin's cyst regressed, and the surgical wound healed well.
Conclusion: Our case shows that an initial marsupialization followed by oral antibiotic therapy can be an appropriate treatment option for a large Bartholin's cyst. However, depending on the patient's condition, a suitable treatment, either cystectomy or marsupialization, can be considered.

Abstract Why is lower socioeconomic status associated with higher rates of depression? And, is the surplus of depression at lower SES just more of the same type as depression found at higher levels, or is it distinctive? We addressed these questions by examining the relations among SES, amygdala volume, and symptoms of depression in healthy young adults. Amygdala volume, a risk factor for depression, does not synergize with SES in a diathesis-stress relation, nor does it mediate the relation of SES to depression. Rather, SES and amygdala volume are independent, additive risk factors. They are also associated with different depression symptoms and, whereas perceived stress fully mediates the relation of SES to depression, it has no relation to amygdala volume. These findings suggest heterogeneity of depression across the socioeconomic spectrum, with implications for treatment selection as well as for future genetic and brain studies.
