Abstract This book introduces a number of HIV/AIDS cases with mucocutaneous lesions. HIV/AIDS can manifest a variety of skin lesions due to immunological disorder, opportunistic infections and tumors always occur primarily with skin lesions. The cases included in this book reflect the diseases spectrum and evolution of mucocutaneous lesions at different stages before and after AIDS antiretroviral therapy (ART) as well. This book consists of nine chapters, including fungal, viral, bacterial, parasitic, neoplastic, inflammatory diseases, syphilis and ART-induced diseases, etc. More than 300 cases and 600 photos of representative and important clinical significances are selected, showing the different clinical characteristics of the same disease under different immune status. Clinical photos are combined with clear and concise medical history along with the discussion on it, by which the readers can understand why skin lesions can be used as the early diagnostic clues to HIV/AIDS infection. Moreover, every chapter summarizes the similarity and characteristics of each type of skin diseases, which outlines and explains why they are AIDS-related mucocutaneous lesions.

Abstract Since wearable technology was first conceptualized in 1960, it has become a crucial aspect of our daily life. People's daily lives have been made better and their health and well-being have improved because of its convenience, real-time, and efficiency, among other things. Haptic feedback and haptic-based cues are crucial tools to improve interaction when trying to improve user experience. An essential component of human-computer interface design that can be used to improve user experience is haptic feedback. By offering a more immersive interface, haptic feedback can improve the user experience. This paper attempts to better understand "The role of haptic feedback in enhancing the user experience of wearable devices" and the effects of haptic feedback on user engagement and interaction. The findings of this study are relevant to the developing fields of wearable technology and human-computer interaction. Wearable technologies can be made more intuitive, user-friendly, and immersive by considering how haptic feedback affects the user experience.

Abstract In an era where the global population is aging significantly, cognitive impairments among the elderly have become a major health concern. The need for effective assistive technologies is clear, and facial recognition systems are emerging as promising tools to address this issue. This document discusses the development and evaluation of a new Multifunctional Facial Recognition System (MFRS), designed specifically to assist older adults with cognitive impairments. The MFRS leverages face_recognition [1], a powerful open-source library capable of extracting, identifying, and manipulating facial features. Our system integrates the face recognition and retrieval capabilities of face_recognition, along with additional functionalities to capture images and record voice memos. This combination of features notably enhances the system's usability and versatility, making it a more user-friendly and universally applicable tool for end-users. Abstract The high-protein diet (HPD) has emerged as a potent dietary approach to curb obesity. Peroxisome, a highly malleable organelle, adapts to nutritional changes to maintain homeostasis by remodeling its structure, composition, and quantity. However, the impact of HPD on peroxisomes and the underlying mechanism remains elusive. Using Drosophila melanogaster as a model system, we discovered that HPD specifically increases peroxisome levels within the adipose tissues. This HPD-induced peroxisome elevation is attributed to cysteine and methionine by triggering the expression of CG33474, a fly homolog of mammalian PEX11G. Both the overexpression of Drosophila CG33474 and human PEX11G result in increased peroxisome size. In addition, cysteine and methionine diets both reduce lipid contents, a process that depends on the presence of CG33474. Furthermore, CG33474 stimulates the breakdown of neutral lipids in a cell-autonomous manner. Moreover, the expression of CG33474 triggered by cysteine and methionine requires TOR signaling. Finally, we found that CG33474 promotes inter-organelle contacts between peroxisomes and lipid droplets (LDs), which might be a potential mechanism for CG33474-induced fat loss. In summary, our findings demonstrate that CG33474/PEX11G may serve as an essential molecular bridge linking HPD to peroxisome dynamics and lipid metabolism.

Abstract This paper presents a two-phase non-singular terminal sliding mode control scheme for a class of nonlinear systems in the presence of external disturbances. A two-phase terminal sliding mode surface is constructed and utilized, such that our control scheme achieves fast finite-duration convergence in regions both close to and far away from the control objective, by which the transition state is set and a less conservative bound of the settling time is obtained and superior to the existing results. Meanwhile, the singularity is avoided by the utilization of the saturation function, with the simplicity of structure and implementation. Extensions to multi-input multi-output systems are carried out further. The numerical simulation of the single inverted pendulum and the industrial manipulator are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

Abstract Objectives: To investigate the influencing factors for asthma management and asthma control level in children.
Methods: A total of 202 children with a confirmed diagnosis of asthma were enrolled. The questionnaire of asthma control level and family management was used to investigate the influencing factors for asthma control level and the indicators of family management. The awareness of childhood asthma and its management was analyzed among the parents, as well as the influence on asthma control level in children, and the association between them was analyzed.
Results: Compared with the non-complete control group, the complete control group had significantly longer course of asthma and treatment time (
Conclusions: The level of asthma control in children is closely associated with the severity of asthma and the comprehensive management of childhood asthma. Early treatment and family management, especially escalation to asthma medication during the early stage of respiratory infection, are of great importance in asthma control.

Abstract The acceleration of urbanization has significantly impacted the changing regional thermal environment, leading to a series of ecological and environment-related problems. A scientific evaluation of the urban thermal security pattern (TSPurban) strongly benefits the planning and layout of sustainable development and the construction of comfortable human settlements. To analyze the characteristics of the TSPurban under cross-regional differences and provide targeted solutions to mitigate the urban heat island effect in later stages, the logical system research framework of the TSPurban based on the “construction–evaluation–optimization” model was explored using reverse thinking. This study selected the Wuhan metropolitan area in China as the research object. First, a morphological spatial pattern analysis (MSPA) model was used to extract the top 30 core heat island patches, and Conefor 2.6 software was used for connection analysis to evaluate their importance. Second, based on the characteristics of various land cover types, the friction (cost) map of surface urban heat island (SUHI) diffusion was simulated. The spatial attributes of the heat island resistance surface were examined using a standard deviation ellipse and hot spot analysis. Finally, this paper used circuit theory to find 56 low-cost heat island links (corridors) and circuit scape software to find widely distributed vital nodes. The optimization of the TSPurban network was then investigated using a reverse thinking process. Heat island patches, corridors, and vital nodes are among the crucial components of the TSPurban. By obstructing corridor links and disturbing important nodes, it is possible to appropriately and proficiently reduce the TSPurban network’s connection efficiency and stability, which will have a positive influence on regional climate mitigation and the heat island effect.

Abstract In privacy protection methods based on location services, constructing anonymous areas using location information shared by collaborative users is the main method. However, this collaborative process not only increases the risk of mobile users' location privacy being leaked, but also reduces positioning accuracy. In response to this problem, we propose a balancing strategy, which transforms the problem of protecting mobile users' location privacy and improving positioning accuracy into a balance issue between location privacy and positioning accuracy. The cooperation of mobile users with different collaborating users is then modeled as an objective optimization problem, and location privacy and positioning accuracy are evaluated separately to make different selection strategies. Finally, an optimization function is constructed to select the optimal selection strategies. Experimental results show that our proposed strategy can effectively achieve the balance between location privacy and positioning accuracy.
