Abstract Background: The "Double First-Class" refers to world first-class university and first-class academic discipline construction proposed by China government. The "Double First-Class" construction medical universities have made many clinical research achievements, but the analysis and evaluation of research collaboration networks in the field of clinical research are still lacking.
Methods: Clinical research papers by 23 "Double First-Class" construction medical universities in China from 2000 to 2019 indexed in the databases of the China National Knowledge Infrastructure and Web of Science (WoS) databases were collected. Through the social network analysis (SNA) method and Ucinet software, the interuniversity research cooperation networks of domestic and international publications were comparatively analyzed at the overall, individual, and group levels in terms of number of publications, cooperation network matrix, centrality analysis, cohesive subgroup analysis, and core-periphery structure to understand the developmental status of the cooperative network of clinical research publications among China's "Double First-Class" construction medical universities.
Results: The cooperation among China's "Double First-Class" construction universities showed certain regional distribution characteristics, and they showed closer cooperation in publishing papers in international journals than in domestic ones. The overall density of the domestic-journal research collaboration network of the universities was 0.4229, mainly centered on Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In contrast, the overall density of international-journal research collaboration network was 0.9052, mainly centered on Peking University, Central South University, and Zhengzhou University, with large differences in subgroup density and low integration.
Conclusions: To promote the development of clinical research, it is necessary to improve the construction of the interuniversity clinical research collaboration system, build a national clinical research network with a multilevel structure and sophisticated functions, and expand resource sharing as well as collaborative innovation capacity.

Abstract Purpose: Diabetes is a chronic disease in metabolic disorder, and the pathology is characterized by insulin resistance and insulin secretion disorder in blood. In current, many studies have revealed that polysaccharides extracted from natural sources with significant anti-diabetic effects. Natural polysaccharides can ameliorate diabetes through different action mechanisms. All these polysaccharides are expected to have an important role in the clinic.
Methods: Existing polysaccharides for the treatment of diabetes are reviewed, and the mechanism of polysaccharides in the treatment of diabetes and its structural characteristics are described in detail.
Results: This article introduced the natural polysaccharide through different mechanisms of action in the treatment of diabetes, including oxidative stress, apoptosis, inflammatory response and regulation of intestinal bacteria. Natural polysaccharides can treat of diabetes by regulating signaling pathways is also a research hotspot. In addition, the structural characteristics of polysaccharides were explored. There are some structure-activity relationships between natural polysaccharides and the treatment of diabetes.

Abstract Objective: Recent investigations have demonstrated that Polygonum perfoliatum L. can protect against chemical liver injury, but the mechanism behind its efficacy is still unclear. Therefore, we studied the pharmacological mechanism at work in P. perfoliatum protection against chemical liver injury.
Methods: To evaluate the activity of P. perfoliatum against chemical liver injury, levels of alanine transaminase, lactic dehydrogenase, aspartate transaminase, superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase and malondialdehyde were measured, alongside histological assessments of the liver, heart and kidney tissue. A nontargeted lipidomics strategy based on ultra-performance liquid chromatography quadrupole-orbitrap high-resolution mass spectrometry method was used to obtain the lipid profiles of mice with chemical liver injury and following treatment with P. perfoliatum; these profiles were used to understand the possible mechanisms behind P. perfoliatum's protective activity.
Results: Lipidomic studies indicated that P. perfoliatum protected against chemical liver injury, and the results were consistent between histological and physiological analyses. By comparing the profiles of liver lipids in model and control mice, we found that the levels of 89 lipids were significantly changed. In animals receiving P. perfoliatum treatment, the levels of 8 lipids were significantly improved, relative to the model animals. The results showed that P. perfoliatum extract could effectively reverse the chemical liver injury and significantly improve the abnormal liver lipid metabolism of mice with chemical liver injury, especially glycerophospholipid metabolism.
Conclusion: Regulation of enzyme activity related to the glycerophospholipid metabolism pathway may be involved in the mechanism of P. perfoliatum's protection against liver injury. Abstract Frustrated Lewis pair (FLP) catalysts have attracted much recent interest because of their exceptional ability to activate small molecules in homogeneous catalysis. In the past ten years, this unique catalysis concept has been extended to heterogeneous catalysis, with much success. Herein, we review the recent theoretical advances in understanding FLP-based heterogeneous catalysis in several applications, including metal oxides, functionalized surfaces, and two-dimensional materials. A better understanding of the details of the catalytic mechanism can help in the experimental design of novel heterogeneous FLP catalysts.

Abstract Abstract White‐box cryptography is to primarily protect the key of a cipher from being extracted in a white‐box scenario, where an adversary has full access to the execution environment of software implementation. Since the introduction of white‐box cryptography, a number of white‐box implementations of the Chinese SM4 block cipher standard have been proposed, and all of them have been attacked based on Billet et al.’s attack. In this study, we show that collision‐based attack can work more efficiently on Shi et al.’s white‐box SM4 implementation than the previously published attacks, by devising an attack with a time complexity of 223, significantly reducing the previously known time complexity of 249 to a very practical level. Our attack can also be similarly applied to some other white‐box SM4 implementations.

Abstract In this paper, we propose and discuss a stochastic logistic model with delay, Markovian switching, Lévy jump, and two-pulse perturbations. First, sufficient criteria for extinction, nonpersistence in the mean, weak persistence, persistence in the mean, and stochastic permanence of the solution are gained. Then, we investigate the lower (upper) growth rate of the solutions. At last, we make use of Matlab to illustrate the main results and give an explanation of biological implications: the large stochastic disturbances are disadvantageous for the persistence of the population; excessive impulsive harvesting or toxin input can lead to extinction of the population.

Abstract Geophysical logs can be used not only for qualitative interpretation such as strata correlation but also for geotechnical assessment through quantitative data analysis. In an emerging digital mining age, such a use of geophysical logs helps to establish reliable geological and geotechnical models, which reduces safety and financial risks due to geological and geotechnical uncertainty for new and existing coal mining projects. This paper presents some examples of geological and geotechnical characterizations from geophysical logs at various coal mines in Australia and India. The applications include rock strength and coal quality estimations, automated lithological/geotechnical interpretation and geophysical strata rating, all based on geophysical logs. These derived parameters could provide input to modelling, control, even ‘digital twin’ generation in a form of geological and geotechnical models as part of the future digital mining. The outcomes can be visualized in 3D space and used for identifying the key geotechnical strata units that are responsible for caving behaviors during longwall mining. This could assist site geologists and planning and production engineers predict and manage mining conditions on an ongoing basis. Both conventional logs such as density, natural gamma and sonic and less common logging data, such as full waveform sonic, televiewer and SIROLOG spectrometric natural gamma logging data are examined for their potential applications. The geotechnical strata classification and rock strengths predicted from the geophysical logs match the laboratory tests, drill core geotechnical strata classification, core photos and the mining condition/behavior observed. These illustrate the usefulness and effectiveness of using geophysical logs for geological and geotechnical characterizations.
