Abstract The constant variation of COVID-19 has intensified the spread and recurrence of the epidemic, and education continues to be hard hit in most countries. The virtual classroom has become the main platform to replace the traditional classroom in the COVID-19 pandemic context. Due to the lack of a comprehensive understanding of college students’ perceptions of the platform system, it is essential to explore the factors and mechanisms that influence students’ willingness to use virtual classrooms consistently to improve the learning efficiency and optimize the effect of educational communication during the epidemic. This study integrates the Delone and McLean (D&M) information systems (IS) success model, expectation–confirmation model (ECM), and instructor quality factor to construct an operational model, and it used a structural equation model to analyze the 411 valid samples received from online questionnaires. The results reveal that the determinants of college students’ perceived usefulness of virtual classrooms are service quality, instructor quality, and confirmation, while system quality has no effect on perceived usefulness in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Secondly, system quality, service quality, and instructor quality are three critical antecedents of confirmation, and perceived usefulness and confirmation positively affect satisfaction. Finally, perceived usefulness and satisfaction directly affect college students’ continuance intention.

Abstract Adrenal myelolipoma (AML) is a benign tumor that consists of mature adipose tissue and bone marrow elements. We report a case of a 57-year-old woman who presented with complaint of lower abdominal discomfort. Computed tomography scan of abdomen and pelvis revealed a mass in the left adrenal measuring 2.0 cm which was radiologically considered to be AML. Pathological evaluation of the lesion showed foci of lymphoid aggregate in a background of AML that were confirmed to be diffuse large B cell lymphoma by immunohistochemistry and gene rearrangement. To our knowledge, this collision tumor has not been reported previously. The clinical, radiological, pathological features, and treatment are discussed.

Abstract Panicle development and grain production in crop species are essential breeding characteristics affected by the synthesis of auxin, which is influenced by flavin monooxygenase-encoding genes such as YUC ( YUCCA ) family members. In this trial, fourteen YUCs were identified and named uniformly in foxtail millet, an ancient crop species cultivated across the world. The phylogenetic analysis revealed that the SiYUCs were clustered into four subgroups; protein motif and gene structure analyses suggested that the closely clustered SiYUC genes were relatively conserved within each subgroup; while genome mapping analysis indicated that the SiYUC genes were unevenly distributed on foxtail millet chromosomes and colinear with other grass species. Transcription analysis revealed that the SiYUC genes differed greatly in expression pattern in different tissues and contained hormonal/light/stress-responding cis -elements. The haplotype characterization of SiYUC genes indicated many superior haplotypes of SiYUCs correlated with higher panicle and grain weight could be favorably selected by breeding. These results will be useful for the further study of the functional characteristics of SiYUC genes, particularly with regard to the marker-assisted pyramiding of beneficial haplotypes in foxtail millet breeding programs.

Abstract Abstract Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an emerging infectious disease caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), and has posed a serious threat to global health. Here, we systematically characterized the transcription levels of the SARS-CoV-2 genes and identified the responsive human genes associated with virus infection. We inferred the possible biological functions of each viral gene and depicted the functional landscape based on guilt-by-association and functional enrichment analyses. Subsequently, the transcription factor regulatory network, protein–protein interaction network, and non-coding RNA regulatory network were constructed to discover more potential antiviral targets. In addition, several potential drugs for COVID-19 treatment and prevention were recognized, including known cell proliferation-related, immune-related, and antiviral drugs, in which proteasome inhibitors (bortezomib, carfilzomib, and ixazomib citrate) may play an important role in the treatment of COVID-19. These results provided novel insights into the understanding of SARS-CoV-2 functional genomics and host-targeting antiviral strategies for SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Abstract Flower scent is one of the main ornamental characteristics of herbaceous peony, and the improvement of flower fragrance is a vital objective of herbaceous peony breeding. In this study, 87 herbaceous peony cultivars were divided into three groups (no/light fragrance, medium fragrance, and strong fragrance) based on their sensory evaluation scores, and 16 strong fragrance cultivars and one no fragrance cultivar were selected for subsequent analysis. Sixty-eight volatile components were detected in these 17 cultivars based on solid-phase microextraction (SPME) and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS), and 26 types were identified as important scent components. They were composed of terpenoids, benzenoids/phenylpropanoids, and fatty acid derivatives. According to the content and odor threshold of these main aroma components, the characteristic aroma substances of herbaceous peony were identified, including linalool, geraniol, citronellol, and phenylethyl alcohol (2-PE). The cultivars of strong scented herbaceous peony were divided into three types: rose scent, lily scent, and mixed scent. We explored the possible key genes of characteristic aroma substances in herbaceous peony petals with different odors through the qRT-PCR. The key genes encoding monoterpene biosynthesis were found to be PlDXS2 , PlDXR1 , PlMDS1 , PlHDR1 , PlGPPS3, and PlGPPS4 . In addition, the linalool synthase (LIS) gene and the geraniol synthase (GES) gene were also found. PlAADC1 , PlPAR1, and PlMAO1, related to the biosynthesis of 2-PE were detected, and the synthetic pathway of 2-PE was speculated. In conclusion, these findings revealed that the difference in gene expression of monoterpene and 2-PE synthesis pathway was related to the difference in the fragrance of herbaceous peony. This study explored the releasing pathway of herbaceous peony characteristic aroma substances and provided key genetic resources for fragrance improvement.

Abstract The purpose of this study is to develop an accurate and efficient assay for the detection of pyrethroid residues and degradation in barley and soil in the Qinghai Plateau region. A sensitive and selective method was developed for the determination of pyrethrin residues in highland barley (kernel, stem, and root) and soil in the Qinghai Plateau by liquid chromatography (LC-MS/MS). Multi-residue analysis of pyrethrin in samples involves simple extraction with acetonitrile, salt-out with NaCl, MgSO4 absorption of water, cleaning with GCB and PSA, respectively, followed by separation with XR-ODS II column, and multi-reaction detection mode detection using a positive mode electrospray ionization source (ESI + ). The results showed that the 6 different components of pyrethrin had a good detection effect in the concentration range of 0.01 ∼ 1.0 mg/L, and the correlation coefficient was greater than 0.9990. The limits of quantitation of each component on each substrate were 0.01 ∼ 0.05 mg/kg, the average daily recoveries were 87.58 ∼ 95.44 %, and the relative standard deviations were 0.4 ∼ 3.8 %. The half-life of pyrethrin in barley grains, stems and soil was 0.77 ∼ 2.57 d. In soil and highland barley, the maximum dose of pyrethrin and twice the maximum dose of pyrethrin were applied, and the final residue 7 days after treatment was less than 0.2 mg/kg. The degradation behavior of pyrethrin in soil at three test sites showed that organic carbon and pH were important factors affecting the degradation of pyrethrin, and the effect of pH on the degradation of six pyrethrin components was greater than that of organic carbon. These studies provide theoretical basis for environmental safety evaluation caused by pyrethrin use in the Qinghai Plateau.

Abstract Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) is a useful tumor marker for hepatocellular carcinomas and yolk sac tumors. Rare extrahepatic visceral malignancies may be associated with AFP production and those exhibiting a hepatoid differentiation by morphology and immunohistochemical are classified as hepatoid adenocarcinoma. Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) producing AFP is a rare entity. To date, only one case of AFP-producing Xp11 translocation RCC has been reported. We reported another case of Xp11 translocation RCC, in which the tumor cells displayed strong immunostaining for AFP, HepPar1, and GPC-3. Additionally, the other published cases are reviewed.

Abstract Objective: To observe the intervention effects of different concentrations of dexamethasone on the general situation and pulmonary histology of chronic asthma rats, and to explore the suitable intragastric dose of dexamethasone in the rat model of chronic asthma. Methods: 75 healthy male Sprague-Dawley(SD)rats were randomly divided into normal group, M group, dexamethasone low dose, middle dose and high dose group by random number table. The rat model of chronic asthma was established by sensitization and challenge of ovalbumin(OVA). From the 20th day of the experiment, dexamethasone groups were given intragastric administration of 0.0625mg/ (kg ·d), 0.125mg/ (kg ·d) and 0.5mg/ (kg ·d), respectively. The general situation of rats was observed and recorded. The histological changes of rat lungs were observed by HE staining and Masson staining. Results: The degree of inflammatory infiltration of bronchus and surrounding tissue in the M group was significantly higher than that in the normal group (P < 0.01). The thickness of airway wall and smooth muscle and the deposition of airway collagen in the M group were significantly higher than those in the normal group (P < 0.01). After one week of intervention, the average daily food intake and body mass of rats in the high dose group were significantly lower than those in the M group (P < 0.01), and the increase in body mass in the middle and low dose groups was significantly slower than that in the M group (P < 0.01). After 2 weeks of intervention, the average daily food intake of rats in the middle and low dose groups was significantly lower than that in the M group (P < 0.01). After 4 weeks of intervention, the average daily food intake in the middle and low dose groups was significantly lower than that in the low dose group (P < 0.01). The inflammatory infiltration of lung tissue in the middle and low dose groups was significantly less than that in the model group, and the thickness of airway wall and smooth muscle and the deposition of airway ...

Abstract Visual pH‐sensing films were fabricated using cellulose nanofibrils (CNF) reinforced polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and alizarin. The relationships between the ratio of PVA: CNF hydrogel (2:1, 1:1, 1:2) and the physical properties and colour response efficiency of indicator films were investigated. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy of films evidenced alizarin and CNF was properly incorporated by physical interaction. A new weak X‐ray diffraction peak appeared at 2θ = 22.4°, which was affected by the incorporation of CNF. The increase in the CNF content induced enhancements of thermal stability, tensile strength, water contact angle and colour sensitivity of the indicator films. The colourimetric films had a higher sensitivity to discolouration when exposed to acidic vapours than alkaline vapours. The films presented a remarkable colour change varied from purple in alkaline condition to yellow in acidic condition. Therefore, this colourimetric film can be used as a volatile acid sensor for intelligent packaging.

Abstract The rheological properties of raw materials as 3D printing inks play a vital role in their printability and quality. This work was aimed to evaluate the potential of low field nuclear magnetic resonance (LF-NMR) and dielectric characteristics (at 915 and 2450 MHz) to predict the rheological properties and estimate the printability of surimi gels at different NaCl and water concentrations. Hierarchical cluster analysis of rheological parameters showed four groups of surimi gels, which were described as difficult extrusion, good extrusion and self-supporting, good extrusion but poor self-supporting, and difficult formation. Comparison of two monitoring techniques, discriminant analysis based on LF-NMR showed a higher classification accuracy of printability in samples, and partial least squares regression (PLSR) models using LF-NMR for predicting main rheological properties had better predictive accuracy and robustness. Thus, the study indicated that LF-NMR has a great potential in predicting rheological properties and estimating the printability of surimi gels.
