Abstract Airborne light detection and ranging (LiDAR) data are increasingly used in various fields such as topographic mapping, urban planning, and emergency management. A necessary processing step in the application of airborne LiDAR data is the elimination of mismatch errors. This paper proposes a new method for airborne LiDAR strip adjustment based on point clouds with planar neighborhoods; this method is intended to eliminate errors in airborne LiDAR point clouds. Initially, standard pre-processing tasks such as denoising, ground separation, and resampling are performed on the airborne LiDAR point clouds. Subsequently, this paper introduces a unique approach to extract point clouds with planar neighborhoods which is designed to enhance the registration accuracy of the iterative closest point (ICP) algorithm within the context of airborne LiDAR point clouds. Following the registration of the point clouds using the ICP algorithm, tie points are extracted via a point-to-plane projection method. Finally, a strip adjustment calculation is executed using the extracted tie points, in accordance with the strip adjustment equation for airborne LiDAR point clouds that was derived in this study. Three sets of airborne LiDAR point cloud data were utilized in the experiment outlined in this paper. The results indicate that the proposed strip adjustment method can effectively eliminate mismatch errors in airborne LiDAR point clouds, achieving a registration accuracy and absolute accuracy of 0.05 m. Furthermore, this method’s processing efficiency was more than five times higher than that of traditional methods such as ICP and LS3D.

Abstract China’s three major urban agglomerations, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei (BTH), Yangtze River Delta (YRD), and Pearl River Delta (PRD), are expected the key areas of energy saving and emission reduction. Based on the connotation of energy saving and emission reduction, we constructed the input–output index system considering environmental benefits, and then used the SBM-Undesirable (Slack-based Measure Considering Undesirable-outputs) model to evaluate the energy saving and emission reduction efficiency (EE) of 49 cities in China’s three major urban agglomerations during 2006–2018. Finally, the paper applied the spatial econometric model to explore the influencing factors of EE. The research results indicate that the overall EE across cities is relatively low, only 7 cities have been on the production frontier. The EE of China’s three urban agglomerations is significant, presenting the development state of “PRD > YRD > BTH”. The spatial autocorrelation of BTH urban agglomeration changed from positive to negative, the YRD urban agglomeration kept relatively stable positive spatial autocorrelation, while the spatial autocorrelation of PRD urban agglomeration was negative during the study period. The results of the spatial econometric analysis show that the relationship between economic development and EE is an “inverted U-shaped” in BTH urban agglomeration, while an “S-shaped” in YRD and PRD urban agglomerations. The urbanization and energy structure have significant negative effects on EE in three major urban agglomerations, and the effect of urbanization on EE is much greater than that of energy structure. Besides, the industrial structure has a significant negative impact on the EE of BTH urban agglomeration. The opening-up degree can significantly inhibit the improvement of EE in YRD urban agglomeration. The impact of resource endowment on the EE of three urban agglomerations is not significant. According to the empirical results, some policy commendations are proposed.

Abstract Gastric cancer (GC) is the fifth most common malignant tumor in the world. The present study was performed to discover the potential diagnostic and therapeutic long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and microRNAs (miRNAs) of GC. Data used in this study to identify differentially expressed lncRNAs (DElncRNAs) and miRNAs (DEmiRNAs) were obtained from 187 GC tissues and 32 adjacent nontumor tissues. The total clinical data on GC included 187 cases. The above data were from the TCGA database. RStudio/Bioconductor software was used to conduct univariate analysis, the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) Cox, and multivariate Cox proportional risk regression for the DElncRNAs and DEmiRNAs. Clinical information was analyzed through univariate and multivariate Cox analysis. Results: five lncRNAs (AC007785.3, AC079385.3, LINC00392, LINC01729, and U95743.1) and two miRNAs (hsa-miR-3174, hsa-miR-605) were proven to be independent prognostic indicators of GC. Results of the Kaplan-Meier survival analysis showed that AC007785.3, AC079385.3, LINC01729, miR-3174, and miR-605 were significantly correlated with OS of GC. The target genes of AC079385.3, miR-3174, and miR-605 were obtained and clustered mainly on MAPK and cGMP-PKG signaling pathways. The clinical data showed that age and clinicopathologic stage were correlated with the prognosis of GC. Furthermore, AC007785.3 was associated with metastasis of GC, and miR-3174 was associated with the primary tumor condition of GC. We identified three lncRNAs (AC007785.3, AC079385.3, LINC01729), two miRNAs (miR-3174, miR-605), and clinical factors related to the pathogenesis and prognosis of GC. Our predicted results provide a possible entry point for the study of prognostic markers for GC.

Abstract Wheat production worldwide is severely challenged by different pest and pathogen species, and misguided application of chemicals in farming significantly stimulates crop invaders to develop insecticide resistance. The growing desire for sustainable agriculture has promoted the breeding of wheat cultivars with durable pests and diseases resistance tolerance traits, which have become increasingly imperative for wheat production. Various genetic breeding techniques, including transgenic breeding, molecular marker-assisted breeding, molecular breeding with gene pyramiding, gene silencing, and gene editing, have been successfully deployed into wheat cultivar improvement, and have significantly promoted the process of breeding cultivars with multiple substantial resistance traits. Although the success of practical applications of some of these resistant wheat cultivars in farming has suggested that these approaches are effective strategies for combating fungal diseases and herbivorous insects, there remains significant challenges for wheat molecular breeding programs. Thus, this review illustrates and summarizes the recent advances and drawbacks related to the measures associated with molecular breeding in common wheat cultivar improvement.

Abstract The public health issue of glucolipid metabolic disorders (GLMD) has grown significantly, posing a grave threat to human wellness. Its prevalence is rising yearly and tends to affect younger people. Metaflammation is an important mechanism regulating body metabolism. Through a complicated multi-organ crosstalk network involving numerous signaling pathways such as NLRP3/caspase-1/IL-1, NF-B, p38 MAPK, IL-6/STAT3, and PI3K/AKT, it influences systemic metabolic regulation. Numerous inflammatory mediators are essential for preserving metabolic balance, but more research is needed to determine how they contribute to the co-morbidities of numerous metabolic diseases. Whether controlling the inflammatory response can influence the progression of GLMD determines the therapeutic strategy for such diseases. This review thoroughly examines the role of metaflammation in GLMD and combs the research progress of related therapeutic approaches, including inflammatory factor-targeting drugs, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), and exercise therapy. Multiple metabolic diseases, including diabetes, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), cardiovascular disease, and others, respond therapeutically to anti-inflammatory therapy on the whole. Moreover, we emphasize the value and open question of anti-inflammatory-based means for treating GLMD.

Abstract In this paper, a delayed diffusive predator-prey model with schooling behaviour and Allee effect is investigated. The existence and local stability of equilibria of model without time delay and diffusion are given. Regarding the conversion rate as bifurcation parameter, Hopf bifurcation of diffusive system without time delay is obtained. In addition, the local stability of the coexistent equilibrium and existence of Hopf bifurcation of system with time delay are discussed. Moreover, the properties of Hopf bifurcation are studied based on the centre manifold and normal form theory for partial functional differential equations. Finally, some numerical simulations are also carried out to confirm our theoretical results.

Abstract Background: The gut microbiota has well documented as an important player in mediating the development of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). A patent natural herbal product, compound (Fufang) Zhenzhu Tiaozhi Capsule (FTZ), composed of eight Chinese medical herbs, has prescribed for the prevention and treatment of hyperlipidemia and NAFLD in China for over a decade. Aim of the study: To investigate gut microbiota-modulated therapeutic potential of FTZ on mice models of NAFLD. Methods: HPLC analysis performed for identifying and quantifying phytochemical constituents of FTZ. The therapeutic potentials on NAFLD were assessed by hepatic histological examination and biochemical assays of liver enzymes. The composition of the gut microbiota was analyzed by 16S rRNA sequencing. Lipid synthesis-related genes were detected using real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Correlations differentially regulated bacterial taxa mediated by FTZ intervention and the clinical parameters of NAFLD obtained by Spearman's correlation analysis. Results: Significantly therapeutic potentials on dysbiosis of the gut microbiota modulating in high-fat and high-cholesterol (HFHC) diet-induced mice models of NAFLD revealed after FTZ intervention. Downtrends of abnormal parameters of NAFLD characterized by increased body weight (BW), fat contents, levels of total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG) both the serum and liver tissue of the mice, and the activities of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate transaminase (AST) shown after FTZ intervention. Meanwhile, the over expressions of lipid synthesis-related genes in mice were down-regulated after FTZ treatment. FTZ modulated the gut microbiota composition, which increased the abundance of Bacteroidetes and reduced the ratio of Firmicutes/Bacteroidales indicated by 16S rRNA sequence data analysis. Parallelly, the increased abundance of Bacteroidetes significantly correlated with down-regulated expressions of lipogenic genes of SCD1, FAS, CD36 and C/EBP-α by FTZ ...

Abstract Accurate and reliable crop classification information is a significant data source for agricultural monitoring and food security evaluation research. It is well-known that polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) data provides ample information for crop classification. Moreover, multi-temporal PolSAR data can further increase classification accuracies since the crops show different external forms as they grow up. In this paper, we distinguish the crop types with multi-temporal PolSAR data. First, due to the “dimension disaster” of multi-temporal PolSAR data caused by excessive scattering parameters, a neural network of sparse auto-encoder with non-negativity constraint (NC-SAE) was employed to compress the data, yielding efficient features for accurate classification. Second, a novel crop discrimination network with multi-scale features (MSCDN) was constructed to improve the classification performance, which is proved to be superior to the popular classifiers of convolutional neural networks (CNN) and support vector machine (SVM). The performances of the proposed method were evaluated and compared with the traditional methods by using simulated Sentinel-1 data provided by European Space Agency (ESA). For the final classification results of the proposed method, its overall accuracy and kappa coefficient reaches 99.33% and 99.19%, respectively, which were almost 5% and 6% higher than the CNN method. The classification results indicate that the proposed methodology is promising for practical use in agricultural applications.
