Abstract Twitter is a popular social network for people to share views or opinions on various topics. Many people search for health topics through Twitter; thus, obtaining a vast amount of social health data from Twitter is possible. Topic models are widely used for social health-care data clustering. These models require prior knowledge about the clustering tendency. Determining the number of clusters of given social health data is known as the health cluster tendency. Visual techniques, including visual assessment of the cluster tendency, cosine-based, and multiviewpoint-based cosine similarity features VAT (MVCS-VAT), are used to identify social health cluster tendencies. The recent MVCS-VAT technique is superior to others; however, it is the most expensive technique for big social health data cluster assessment. Thus, this paper aims to enhance the work of the MVCS-VAT using a sampling technique to address the big social health data assessment problem. Experimental is conducted on different health datasets for demonstrating an efficiency of proposed work. Accuracy of social health data clustering is improved at a rate of 5 to 10% in the proposed S-MVCS-VAT when compared to MVCS-VAT. From obtained results, it also proved that the proposed S-MVCS-VAT is a faster and memory efficient for discovering social health data clusters.

Abstract BCZT (Ba0.85Ca0.15Zr0.1Ti0.9O3) is a recent class of lead-free ferroelectric material associated with high piezoelectric coefficient, making it suitable to inspire hydroxyapatite (HA)-BCZT ceramics for bone materials. Nano-crystalline hydroxyapatite (HA) synthesized using the hydrothermal route was characterized via FT-IR, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). We also rationalized its formation as a function of operating conditions such as dwell time and temperature in this route. The nano-crystalline BCZT powder was synthesized via a sol-gel technique and its structural and morphological characterization were carried out using Raman Spectroscopy, XRD and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). These investigations facilitated the optimization of HA-BCZT compositions and their electrical poling conditions to achieve enhanced piezoelectric effect. The composites (HA-BCZT) sintered at 1350∘C exhibited promising piezoelectric properties. We report the enhanced piezoelectric coefficient (d33) of 7±1 pC/N for 50% HA-BCZT which is significant as compared to that reported in the literature for ~98% BT (barium titanate) -HA composites. We highlight the role of Simulated Body Fluid (SBF) on the intriguing phase-change of Tricalcium Phosphate (TCP) obtained at this sintering temperature, to hydroxyapatite for its essential contribution to promote bone growth. We theoretically support the confirmed in vitro biocompatibility of these composites.

Abstract A new series of tetraphenyl bisphosphonates have been elegantly synthesized by one-pot method and were characterized by elemental analysis, FTIR, 1H, 13C, 31P NMR, mass spectra and evaluated for their in vitro antibone resorptive activity by inhibiting growth of osteoclasts. Two bisphosphonates 3g and 3f showed marked inhibition ratio (8 μM and 10 μM) and emerged as lead compounds. All compounds were tested for their antioxidant (DPPH scavenging, reducing power and inhibition of lipid peroxidation). They exhibited potent in vitro antioxidant activity dose-dependently.

Abstract Objective: To examine the association between biochemical vitamin A deficiency in pregnancy and maternal and fetal health.
Design: A cross sectional clinical study.
Setting: Antenatal clinic of nutrition unit of Niloufer Hospital catering for a low socio-economic population, and a private nursing home (Swapna nursing home) catering for a high socio-economic population.
Population: 736 pregnant women in their third trimester of pregnancy belonging to low (n = 522) and high socio-economic groups (n = 214).
Methods: All the women were subjected to a detailed clinical, anthropometric and obstetric examination. Night blindness was assessed by administering the standard WHO questionnaire. Birthweight and gestational age of the infants, maternal anaemia and development of pregnancy-induced hypertension in the mother were recorded. Haemoglobin and serum retinol were estimated at the time of recruitment to the study.
Main outcome measures: Serum retinol levels, anaemia, pregnancy-induced hypertension, birthweight and gestational age of the infant.
Results: Night blindness was observed in 2.9% of the women and subclincal vitamin A deficiency (serum retinol <20 microg/dL with no clinical signs) in 27% of the women. Moderate to severe anaemia was observed in 41.2% of the women, and 15.8% of the women developed pregnancy-induced hypertension. Sixty-one (9.4%) women delivered preterm. Univariate analysis identified a significant association between serum retinol <20 microg/dL and preterm delivery (OR = 1.74, 95% CI 1.03-2.96), maternal anaemia (OR = 1.82, 95% CI 1.28-2.60) and pregnancy-induced hypertension (OR = 1.56, 95% CI 1.02-2.83). After adjusting for the confounding variables (body mass index, parity, age and socio-economic status) in a multivariate analysis, the significant associations between serum retinol <20 microg/dL and preterm delivery (P = 0.02) and anaemia (P = 0.003) persisted, while that for pregnancy-induced hypertension disappeared (P = 0.71).
Conclusion: The study suggests that subclinical vitamin A deficiency is a problem during the third trimester of pregnancy. Serum concentration of retinol <20 microg/dL appears to indicate a deficient status, and is associated with an increased risk of preterm delivery and maternal anaemia.
