Abstract To explore the mechanism of inhibiting spontaneous combustion of coal by mixed gases, the low-temperature oxidation characteristics of coal under different components of mixed gases were analyzed. ESR and FTIR experiments were used to investigate the effects of different gas mixtures on the activity of coal during low-temperature oxidation and the oxidation reaction of coal surface functional groups. The mechanism of chemical oxygen inhibition of mixed gas was studied by density functional theory. The results show that the larger the CO

Abstract As the demand for automotive materials grows more stringent in environmental considerations, it becomes imperative to conduct thorough environmental impact assessments of dual-phase automotive strip steel (DP steel). However, the absence of detailed and comparable studies has left the carbon footprint of DP steel and its sources largely unknown. This study addresses this gap by establishing a cradle-to-gate life cycle model for DP steel, encompassing on-site production, energy systems, and upstream processes. The analysis identifies and scrutinizes key factors influencing the carbon footprint, with a focus on upstream mining, transportation, and on-site production processes. The results indicate that the carbon footprint of DP steel is 2.721 kgCO

Abstract We study the early work scheduling problem on identical parallel machines in order to maximize the total early work, i.e., the parts of non-preemptive jobs executed before a common due date. By preprocessing and constructing an auxiliary instance which has several good properties, we propose an efficient polynomial time approximation scheme with running time $O(n)$, which improves the result in [Gy\"{o}rgyi, P., Kis, T. (2020). A common approximation framework for early work, late work, and resource leveling problems. {\it European Journal of Operational Research}, 286(1), 129-137], and a fully polynomial time approximation scheme with running time $O(n)$ when the number of machines is a fixed number, which improves the result in [Chen, X., Liang, Y., Sterna, M., Wang, W., B{\l}a\.{z}ewicz, J. (2020b). Fully polynomial time approximation scheme to maximize early work on parallel machines with common due date. {\it European Journal of Operational Research}, 284(1), 67-74], where $n$ is the number of jobs, and the hidden constant depends on the desired accuracy.

Abstract Serving as the technological innovation in transportation, the impact of the high-speed railway on carbon emissions attracted growing attention. Existing research always ignored the spatial spillover effect and regional heterogeneity of such implications. To explore the spatial effect of high-speed railways on carbon emissions, this paper constructed a Spatial Lag Model (SLM) using panel data of 283 cities in China from 2007 to 2019 and further divided data into three regions. CO₂ emissions were calculated from electricity, heating and gas consumption, and other control factors such as technology and affluence were also considered. The estimation results indicated that carbon emissions were spatially correlated, and high-speed railways negatively impacted carbon emissions. In addition, the impact of the high-speed railway was diverse and differential in the western, central and eastern region. Finally, this paper provided policy recommendations for energy saving and emission reduction.

Abstract Pruni Semen, the dried ripe seed of Prunus humilis, P. japonica, or P. pedunculata as recorded in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia, has been widely used in pharmaceutical and food industries. The adulteration of the marketed product with morphologically similar plants of the same genus has led to variable product quality and clinical effectiveness. This study systematically investigated the phylogenetic relationships, morphological traits, and chemical profiles of 37 Pruni Semen samples from planting bases, markets, and fields. DNA barcoding could successfully distinguish the genuine and counterfeit Pruni Semen, and the results indicated that there was almost no authentic Pruni Semen available in the market. The samples were divided into "big seed" (P. pedunculata and P. salicina seeds) and "small seed" (P. humilis, P. japonica, P. tomentosa, and P. avium seeds) categories based on morphology results. The notable discrepancy in the chemical characteristics of "big seed" and "small seed" was that "small seeds" were rich in flavonoids and low in amygdalin, whereas "big seeds" were the opposite. Furthermore, principal component analysis and clustered heatmap analysis verified the distinguishing features of "big seed" and "small seed" based on morphological and chemical characteristics. This study suggested that a combination of DNA barcoding and morphological and chemical characteristics can aid in the identification and quality evaluation of authentic and adulterated Pruni Semen. These findings may help standardize Pruni Semen available in the market and protect the rights and interests of customers.

Abstract Primary headache disorders including migraine, cluster headache, and tension-type headache are among the most common disabling diseases worldwide. The unclear pathogenesis of primary headache disorders has led to high rates of misdiagnosis and limited available treatment options. In this review, we have summarized the pathophysiological factors for a better understanding of primary headache disorders. Advances in functional neuroimaging, genetics, neurophysiology have indicated that cortical hyperexcitability, regional brain dysfunction, central sensitization and neuroplasticity changes play vital roles in the development of primary headache disorders. Moreover, we have also discussed a series of neurostimulation approaches with their stimulation mechanism, safety and efficacy for prevention and treatment of primary headache disorders. Noninvasive or implantable neurostimulation techniques show great promise for treating refractory primary headache disorders.

Abstract The precise prediction of suspended sediment concentration (SSC) is of great importance for river reservoir construction planning, water resource management, and ecological environment restoration. This research aims to improve SSC prediction accuracy by constructing a comprehensive and integrated deep learning model Wavelet-MGGP-CNN-LSTM (ICNN-LSTM), combining wavelet transformation (WT), multi-gene genetic programming (MGGP), convolutional neural network (CNN), and long short-term memory (LSTM) simultaneously. In ICNN-LSTM, the WT decomposes the signal and extracts time and frequency domain information, while the MGGP filters out redundant information. Then, the CNN and LSTM are integrated in a parallel and loosely coupled manner to form an initial combined model CNN-LSTM (CNN combined with LSTM) to process filtered information by WT and MGGP. Furthermore, this study compares the performance of ICNN-LSTM with CNN, LSTM, CNN-LSTM, ICNN (CNN embedded with WT and MGGP), ILSTM (LSTM embedded with WT and MGGP), artificial neural network (ANN), and the traditional sediment rating curve (SRC). The evaluation of prediction accuracy for all models was conducted using root mean square error (RMSE), Nash-Sutcliffe coefficient (NSC), coefficient of determination (R2), and mean absolute error (MAE) as performance indicators. The daily discharge and suspended sediment concentration series data from Tangnaihai Hydrological Station in the upper reaches of the Yellow River spanning from 1977 to 1987 were selected to train and test the models. Results show that, first, deep learning networks such as CNN and LSTM outperform the shallow neural network ANN, with LSTM providing higher accuracy than CNN. Second, the CNN-LSTM hybrid outperforms both CNN and LSTM models, exhibiting a nearly 89% improvement in NSC value compared to SRC in the test phase. Third, deep learning models such as ICNN, ILSTM, and ICNN-LSTM show significantly higher NSC values than CNN, LSTM, and CNN-LSTM models in the test phase, with improvements of 13.8%, 5.7%, and 12.1%, respectively. Moreover, compared to SRC, the proposed ICNN-LSTM model improves NSC value by nearly 140% in the test phase. The proposed ICNN-LSTM model, integrating the advantages of WT, deep learning, and ensemble learning, provides accurate and reliable predictions and serves as a reference for time series prediction modeling.

Abstract Background: Parents from urban, lower social economic classes often encounter unique challenges in their lives, which shape how they work with their children who are overweight or obese to change their exercise and eating behaviors at home. The present study took an initial step to address a gap in the literature by describing the challenges that parents from lower social economic classes in an urban city encountered in changing exercise and eating behaviors of their children who are overweight or obese.
Methods: A conversational style semi-structured interview with prompts and probes was conducted to 44 parents whose child is overweight or obese. Inductive content analysis and constant comparison was used to analyze the data. Data trustworthiness was established by using a variety of strategies.
Results: Two major themes with eight sub-themes emerged from the data: Challenges to promote a healthy active lifestyle, and challenges from their child's development and lifestyle behavior. Eight sub-themes were: (1) Need for effective strategies for a lifestyle behavior change, (2) monitor and promote healthy choices, (3) money, time, and dangerous neighborhood, (4) scientific knowledge to promote a healthy active lifestyle, (5) developmental changes of adolescence, (6) unmotivated and lack of persistence, (7) sneaking eating, and (8) peer pressure.
Conclusion: The challenges, from economic to parenting, are certainly of importance, and understanding these challenges will be crucial to help school-based professionals develop interventions. Those identified challenges should be clearly placed within family-school collaboration practices.
