Abstract Crane usage is pervasive on construction sites, however, it is associated with a notably high accident rate. The analyzing of crane accident risks is essential for accident prevention, control, and ensuring the safety of lifting operations. Hence, significant emphasis should be placed on understanding the interaction among various risk factors. This paper proposes a quantitative coupling method for human, machine, management, and environmental risk factors in crane accidents, leveraging Bayesian networks (BN) and the N-K model. Firstly, text mining technology and fault tree analysis are employed to analyze the causes of crane accidents and categorize the associate risk factors. Secondly, the types of risk coupling resulting from human, machine, management, and environmental risk factors are defined. Thirdly, the BN model is developed based on the analysis of crane accident risksand its N-K model. Fourthly, the parameters of the risk coupling nodes in the developed BN are determined based on the calculation results of the N-K model. Finally, for the risk coupling types with high coupling values and the first-level node and second-level node, the failure probability is analyzed through posterior probability and sensitivity analysis. The results indicate that factors related to man and management significantly impact crane accidents and warrant enhanced attention. The interplay among multiple risk factors significantly influences the probability of crane accidents, necessitating careful attention.

Abstract Protein phosphorylation plays an important role in cellular signaling and disease development. Advances in mass spectrometry-based proteomics have enabled qualitative and quantitative phosphorylation studies as well as in-depth biological explorations for biomarker discovery and signaling pathway analysis. However, the dynamic changes that occur during phosphorylation and the low abundance of target analytes render direct analysis difficult because mass spectral detection offers no selectivity, unlike immunoassays such as Western blot and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The present study aimed to solve one of the key problems in the specific and efficient isolation of phosphorylated peptides. A method based on a magnetic carbon nitride composite coupled with matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS) was developed for the enrichment and analysis of phosphopeptides with low abundance in complex samples. Magnetic carbon nitride composite was synthesized and characterized by electron microscopy, infrared spectroscopy, and X-ray diffractometry. The composite showed a well-distributed two-dimensional layered structure and functional groups with excellent paramagnetic performance. Two classical phosphoproteins, namely,

Abstract In supported metal catalysts, the supports would strongly interact with the metal components instead of just acting as a carrier, which greatly affects both of their synthesis and catalytic activity, selectivity, and stability. Carbon is considered as very important but inert support and thus hard to induce strong metal-support interaction (SMSI). This mini-review highlights that sulfur-a documented poison reagent for metal catalysts-when doped in a carbon supports can induce diverse SMSI phenomenon, including electronic metal-support interaction (EMSI), classic SMSI, and reactive metal-support interaction (RMSI). These SMSI between metal and sulfur-doped carbon (S-C) supports enables the catalysts with extraordinary resistance to sintering at high temperatures of up to 1100 °C, which allows the general synthesis of single-atom, alloy cluster, and intermetallic compound catalysts with high dispersion and metal loading for a variety of applications.

Abstract Users' perceived image quality of virtual reality head-mounted displays (VR HMDs) is determined by multiple factors, including the HMD's structure, optical system, display and render resolution, and users' visual acuity (VA). Existing metrics such as pixels per degree (PPD) have limitations that prevent accurate comparison of different VR HMDs. One of the main limitations is that not all VR HMD manufacturers released the official PPD or details of their HMDs' optical systems. Without these details, developers and users cannot know the precise PPD or calculate it for a given HMD. The other issue is that the visual clarity varies with the VR environment. Our work has identified a gap in having a feasible metric that can measure the visual clarity of VR HMDs. To address this gap, we present an end-to-end and user-centric visual clarity metric, omnidirectional virtual visual acuity (OVVA), for VR HMDs. OVVA extends the physical visual acuity chart into a virtual format to measure the virtual visual acuity of an HMD's central focal area and its degradation in its noncentral area. OVVA provides a new perspective to measure visual clarity and can serve as an intuitive and accurate reference for VR applications sensitive to visual accuracy. Our results show that OVVA is a simple yet effective metric for comparing VR HMDs and environments.

Abstract The 5'-HOXD genes are important for chondrogenesis in vertebrates, but their roles in osteoarthritis (OA) are still ambiguous. In our study, 5'-HOXD genes involvement contributing to cartilage degradation and OA was investigated. In bioinformatics analysis of 5'-HOXD genes, we obtained the GSE169077 data set related to OA in the GEO and analyzed DEGs using the GEO2R tool attached to the GEO. Then, we screened the mRNA levels of 5'-HOXD genes by quantitative reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). We discovered that OA chondrocyte proliferation was inhibited, and apoptosis was increased. Moreover, it was discovered that SOX9 and COL2A1 were downregulated at mRNA and protein levels, while matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and a disintegrin-like and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs (ADAMTSs) were upregulated. According to the results of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and qRT-PCR, we evaluated the protein level of HOXD11 and found that the expression of HOXD11 was downregulated, reversed to MMPs and ADAMTSs but consistent with the cartilage-specific factors, SOX9 and COL2A1. In the lentivirus transfection experiments, HOXD11 overexpression reversed the effects in OA chondrocytes. In human OA articular cartilage, aberrant subchondral bone was formed in hematoxylin-eosin (H&E) and Safranin O and fast green (SOFG) staining results. Furthermore, according to immunohistochemistry findings, SOX9 and HOXD11 expression was inhibited. The results of this study established that HOXD11 was downregulated in OA cartilage and that overexpression of HOXD11 could prevent cartilage degradation in OA.

Abstract Objective: The aims of this study were to evaluate the correlation between chemokine (C-X-C) ligand 7 (CXCL7) expression and glycolysis and to explore the prognostic significance of CXCL7 in colorectal cancer (CRC).
Methods: The expression of CXCL7 and lactate dehydrogenase A (LDH-A) was measured by immunohistochemistry in tissue from 158 CRC patients. Patients were divided into high expression and low expression groups based on receiver operating characteristic curves and a cut-off value. The correlation between CXCL7 and LDH-A expression was evaluated. The overall survival (OS) times of CRC patients were explored. The risk factors related to prognosis were assessed.
Results: Significantly higher expression of CXCL7 and LDH-A was detected in CRC tissue than in non-CRC tissue, and was associated with N stage and tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) stage. CXCL7 expression was strongly correlated with LDH-A expression in CRC tissue. High expression of CXCL7 was validated as an independent risk factor for OS.
Conclusion: Increased expression of CXCL7 was positively correlated with LDH-A expression and was an independent risk factor for CRC prognosis.

Abstract Minimizing frictional resistance is crucial for ensuring the safety and smooth progress of pipe jacking construction. However, due to the unpredictability of geological conditions, it is difficult to grasp the frictional resistance during construction, which poses challenges to safe and smooth construction. In order to reduce the frictional resistance during the process of pipe jacking, an automated pipe jacking friction resistance identification and warning system is thus innovatively proposed. This system uses jacking resistance sensors to identify resistance during the jacking process. When the jacking resistance exceeds a certain threshold, the system will send alerts, which could prompt construction workers to adjust the rheological slurry ratio according to the on-site soil conditions. This system includes the following major components: (1) an analysis of primary factors influencing pipe frictional resistance and a model for resistance calculation, (2) the examination of forces exerted on disturbed soil during pipe jacking construction to determine the optimal placement of resistance sensors, (3) the design and operational principles for an automated resistance identification and warning system, and (4) the application of a slurry shield construction method for resistance reduction. The research has practical significance in providing a reference for developing intelligent pipe jacking and contributing to the improvement in construction safety levels.

Abstract Background: Cervical cancer (CC) remains a large burden in the developing countries. The tumor inhibitory role of miR-873 has been verified in a variety of cancers, however, whether miR-873 has a suppressive effect on CC remains unclear.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the functional role of miR-873 in CC, as well as explore the underlying molecular mechanism.
Methods: The prognostic values of miR-873 were assessed by Kaplan-Meier methods and cox regression models using the data which were downloaded from TCGA database. The expression of miR-873 was measured by RT-qPCR. Cell counting Kit-8, clone formation, and Transwell assays were used to assess the cell viability and metastasis, appropriately. The targeting relationship between miR-873 and ULBP2 was predicted by biological software and confirmed by dual luciferase reporter assay. Rescue assays were conducted to investigate whether miR-873 affects the phenotype of CC cells via regulating ULBP2.
Results: We observed that miR-873 was low-expressed in CC. Up-regulation of miR-873 notably restrained the proliferation, invasion and migration of C33a cells. Meanwhile, down-regulation of miR-873 in SiHa cells presented the opposite outcomes. ULBP2 was forecasted and certified as a target of miR-873. The results of rescue assays showed that overexpression of ULBP2 could restore the proliferation and motility of CC cells that inhibited by miR-873.
Conclusion: MiR-873 suppressed the CC cells proliferation, invasion and migration via negatively regulating ULBP2, suggesting that miR-873 could serve as a valuable therapeutic target for CC therapy.
