Abstract The aim of the present study was to compare the differences in joint coordination patterns and variability in the lower extremity between the first and second landing phases of the drop jump. Eighteen resistance-trained men (age: 22.8 ± 1.8 years) performed drop jumps from a height of 0.40 m. An eight-camera motion capture system was utilized to record kinematic trajectories. Modified vector coding technique and circular statistics were used to determine the coordination pattern and variability of the following joint couples during the first and second landings: hip frontal-knee frontal (HfKf), hip sagittal-knee frontal (HsKf), hip sagittal-knee sagittal (HsKs), knee frontal-ankle frontal (KfAf), knee sagittal-ankle frontal (KsAf), and knee sagittal-ankle sagittal (KsAs). Statistical differences in the distribution frequencies of coupling angles and variability between the dominant and nondominant limbs across the two landing phases were compared using two-way repeated analysis of variance and Wilcoxon rank-sum tests. During the second landing phase, the proportion of HsKs, KfAf, and KsAs showing in-phase coordination was reduced but the proportion of KfAf and KsAs showing proximal joint (knee) coordination was increased (p < .05). Significant differences in bilateral asymmetry were observed only for the HfKf and KfAf patients (p < .05). HsKs, KfAf, and KsAf varied considerably during the second landing phase (p < .05). Joint coordination patterns during the second landing phase of the drop jump differed considerably from those during the first landing phase, thereby increasing the risk of knee and ankle injuries.

Abstract Background: Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) of the chest mainly arises from the pleura, but intrapulmonary SFT is rare. This study aimed to review and discuss the chest multislice computed tomography (MSCT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings of intrapulmonary SFT and summarize existing literature on the disease in order to improve clinicians' understanding and diagnosis of this disease.
Methods: The imaging findings and clinical data of 4 surgically and pathologically confirmed intrapulmonary SFT cases were retrospectively analyzed in terms of location, morphology, size, density, border, enhancement level of the lesion, and its relationship with surrounding tissue. These findings were combined with a review of 61 cases reported in the literature to characterize the features of intrapulmonary SFT.
Results: A total of 65 patients with intrapulmonary SFT were reviewed, consisting of 30 females and 35 males. Of these cases, 21 had a lesion in the left lower lobe, more than in any other part of the lungs. The lesions were clear, had a quasicircular boundary, and were distinctly separated from surrounding tissue. Under plain scan, the 4 cases investigated in this study showed lesions of even density, and enhanced scanning revealed geographic enhancement in 2 cases. Of the 65 cases examined, 56 cases were benign, and the remaining 9 cases were borderline or malignant.
Conclusions: The imaging findings of intrapulmonary SFT demonstrated certain features, such as lesions with a clear boundary and even density. Imaging examination is important for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of this disease.

Abstract The biceps femoris long head (BFLH) gains its properties from internal elements (fascicles and tendinous tissues) which behaviors remain poorly understood across BFLH regions and dynamic tasks. The aim of this study was to assess the in vivo behaviors of fascicles and tendinous tissue in the proximal and distal regions of BFLH during different dynamic knee and hip tasks. Twenty males performed the Nordic hamstring exercise (NHE) (n = 9) and Romanian deadlift (RDL) (n = 11). Activation of the BFLH was assessed using surface electromyography signals. Ultrasound images of BFLH and kinematic data were used to estimate the interaction between fascicle and tendinous tissue. The fascicles changed less in length (p < 0.05) and contributed less to BFLH length change (p < 0.05) in NHE with higher activation (p < 0.05) relative to RDL. The higher pennation angle changes of BFLH were found in distal region compared to proximal region in both tasks (p < 0.05), while the activation of distal region was higher than activation of proximal region in NHE (p < 0.05). The BFLH length change was primarily contributed by the tendinous tissue during dynamic resistance tasks, and was contributed less by fascicles which operated more isometrically in knee-dominant NHE with higher activation relative to hip-dominant RDL. Regional differences in pennation angle change and activation during dynamic tasks suggest potential regional differences in the mechanical function of BFLH, warranting further investigation.

Abstract Plastics are indispensable materials in modern society; however, their extensive use has contributed to the depletion of finite natural resources and caused severe environmental issues. One end-of-use solution for plastics involves the chemical recycling of polymers back to monomers for repolymerization to virgin polymers without changing the material properties, allowing the establishment of a circular material economy. This concept focuses on the critical advantages of chemically recyclable polymers in terms of monomer design, material properties, and the feasibility of bulk depolymerization. Abstract Attribute selection in rough set theory has wide practical application values. Most existing attribute selection approaches neglect the relationship among the classification information and redundant information brought by the candidate attribute, and the retained classification information provided by the selected attributes when selecting the candidate attribute. Therefore, the significant evaluation function of effective classification information ratio is defined for attribute selection, and an attribute selection approach via the effective classification information ratio is proposed further, which can effectively select the attributes that can provide lots of effective classification information and low redundant information. Besides, considering the influence of candidate attribute on the retained classification information provided by the selected attributes, another significant evaluation function of independent-and-effective classification information ratio is advanced, and an improved attribute selection approach is proposed, which can contribute to balancing the relationship between the effective classification information and redundant information of the attributes, and improving the overall recognition ability of the selected attribute subset. Finally, comparative experiments are conducted from the aspects of classification performance and statistical Bonferroni-Dunn test, and the experimental results illustrate that the proposed attribute selection approaches are effective.

Abstract Biotrophic fungi are one group of heterogeneous organisms and these fungi differ in their traits like mode of nutrition, types of reproduction, and dispersal systems. Generally, based on the nutritional mode, fungi are classified into three broad categories, viz. biotrophs, necrotrophs, and hemi-biotrophs. Biotrophs derive their nutrients and energy from living plant cells and survive within the interstitial space of the cells. Biotrophic fungi cause serious crop diseases but are highly challenging to investigate and develop a treatment strategy. Blumeria (Erysiphe) graminis, Uromyces fabae, Ustilago maydis, Cladosporium fulvum, Puccinia graminis, and Phytophthora infestans are some of the significant biotrophic fungi that affect mainly plants. One among the biotrophic fungus, Pneumocystis jirovecii (Taphrinomycotina subphylum of the Ascomycota) exclusively a human pathogen, can cause lung diseases such as “pneumocystis.” Biotrophic fungus widely parasitizing Solanaceae family crops (Tomato and potato) has done massive damage to the crops and has led to economic impact worldwide. During infection and for nutrient absorption, biotrophs develops external appendages such as appressoria or haustoria. The hyphae or appressorium adheres to the plant cell wall and collapses the layers for their nutrient absorption. The pathogen also secretes effector molecules to escape from the plant defense mechanism. Later, plants activate their primary and secondary defense mechanisms; however, the pathogen induces virulence genes to escape the host immune responses. Obligate biotrophic fungi pathogenicity has not been fully understood at the molecular level because of the complex interaction, recognition, and signaling with the host. This review summarizes the mechanism of infection in the host, and immune response to emphasize the understanding of the biotrophic fungal biology and pathogenesis in crops. Thus, the detailed review will pave the way to design methods to overcome the resistance of biotrophic fungi and develop disease-free crops.

Abstract RNA silencing (also known as gene silencing) is an evolutionary conserved mechanism that is involved in regulating gene expression, suppressing mobile elements, and defensing virus infection. RNA silencing is triggered by double-stranded RNA via Dicer or Dicer-like riboendonucleases. DsRNAs are also the replication intermediates of all RNA viruses; as a result, plant RNA viruses are ideal candidates to induce RNA silencing. A large body of plant viruses have been modified into vectors for RNA silencing in varied plant species. Here, we described a simple, time-saving, and operable system for gene function and genetic breeding study of potato and Nicotiana benthamiana using a potato mop-top (MPTV)-based vector.

Abstract Objective: The current research was designed to compare the clinical efficacy of suspension laryngoscopic mucosal dissection and plasma resection in the management of laryngeal leukoplakia and their effects on patient prognosis.
Methods: Retrospective analysis was conducted on 184 laryngeal leukoplakia patients treated in Ningbo Beilun People's Hospital from January 2018 to October 2021. Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 128 eligible patients were included, including 64 patients who underwent suspension laryngoscopic mucosal dissection (control group) and 64 patients who underwent cryolyrectomy (study group). The operative time, intraoperative bleeding volume, and time of pseudomembrane detachment in the two groups were recorded. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to determine the serum concentrations of interleukin (IL)-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, interferon-γ (IFN-γ), and IL-17A at 24 hours after surgery. Postoperative follow-up was conducted for one year. Results of the noise acoustic testing and stroboscopic laryngoscopy, including noise/harmonic ratio, amplitude perturbation, fundamental frequency perturbation, vocal fold vibration symmetry, and vocal fold mucosal wave, were documented before treatment and three months after treatment. The cumulative recurrence rate of patients within one year after surgery was recorded, and the cumulative recurrence rate of patients within 1 year after surgery was compared between the two groups.
Results: Cryo-plasma resection significantly contributed to shorter operative time and less intraoperative bleeding volume as compared with suspension laryngoscopic mucosal dissection (both P<0.05), while time-lapse before postoperative pseudomembrane detachment was similar between the two groups (P>0.05). Patients with cryo-plasma resection exhibited significantly milder postoperative inflammatory response than those with suspension laryngoscopic mucosal dissection, as evinced by the lower serum concentrations of IL-2, IL-6, TNF-α, IFN-γ and IL-17A at 24-h in patients with cryo-plasma resection after operation (P<0.05), while the levels of IL-4 and IL-10 were similar between the two groups (P>0.05). At 3 months after operation, cryo-plasma resection contributed to more significant reductions of noise/harmonic ratio, amplitude perturbation, fundamental frequency perturbation, vocal fold vibration symmetry, and vocal fold mucosal as compared with suspension laryngoscopic mucosal dissection (P<0.05). Cryo-plasma resection contributed to a significantly lower incidence of cumulative recurrence than suspension laryngoscopic mucosal dissection (P<0.05). Multivariate analysis revealed no statistical difference in the impact of gender, age, smoking, and alcohol consumption on the recurrence and malignant transformation of laryngeal leukoplakia (P>0.05).
Conclusion: Both suspension laryngoscopic mucosal dissection and plasma resection can provide significant efficacy in the treatment of laryngeal leukoplakia, and cryo-plasma resection can contribute to a lower incidence of relapse, enhanced postoperative recovery, and superior short- and long-term outcomes than plasma resection.

Abstract This article is devoted to distributed adaptive asymptotic consensus tracking control based on output feedback for the uncertain high-order multiagent systems with input quantization. Compared with the output-feedback canonical form, the system takes unmeasured states-dependent nonlinearities into account and also includes unknown parameters and quantized input. The improved K -filters with one dynamic gain are constructed to dispose the unmeasured states-dependent nonlinearities and estimate the unknown states. Then, the novel recursive control strategy with the aid of new first-order dynamic parameter filters is proposed, which is able to effectively counteract the filter errors and steer the consensus tracking errors to zero asymptotically with low design complexity. Moreover, the new funnel variable combined with prespecified time performance function is first introduced, which can predefine practical transition time and maximum overshoot of consensus error. Finally, simulation results are presented to illustrate the validity and superiority of the proposed scheme.
