    Abstract Parinaud syndrome, which most commonly involves the dorsal midbrain, has classical features of upward gaze paralysis, convergence-retraction nystagmus, and pupillary light near dissociation. A 62-year-old male presented to the Eye department with diminution of vision and symptoms of dry eye with associated difficulty in walking. Examination revealed nystagmus while performing convergence test. An MRI revealed lesions in the thalamic and gangliocapsular regions. Microangiopathies involving the thalamus and gangliocapsular region can lead to Parinaud syndrome. In our case, microangiopathies were most probably hypertensive.

    Abstract Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the major cause of mortality in autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) and contributes to significant burden of disease. The manifestations are varied, including left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH), intracranial aneurysms (ICAs), valvular heart disease, and cardiomyopathies; however, the most common presentation and a major modifiable risk factor is hypertension. The aim of this review is to detail the complex pathogenesis of hypertension and other extrarenal cardiac and vascular conditions in ADPKD drawing on preclinical, clinical, and epidemiological evidence. The main drivers of disease are the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) and polycystin-related endothelial cell dysfunction, with the sympathetic nervous system (SNS), nitric oxide (NO), endothelin-1 (ET-1), and asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) likely playing key roles in different disease stages. The reported rates of some manifestations, such as LVH, have decreased likely due to the use of antihypertensive therapies; and others, such as ischemic cardiomyopathy, have been reported with increased prevalence likely due to longer survival and higher rates of chronic disease. ADPKD-specific screening and management guidelines exist for hypertension, LVH, and ICAs; and these are described in this review.

    Abstract Background: Adenoid is a mass of lymphoid tissue seen in the posterior nasopharyngeal wall, generally seen in the pediatric age group, and it disappears as age advances till puberty. Patients with recurrent allergic rhinitis, otitis media, or persistent nasopharyngeal obstruction is associated with adenoid hypertrophy can be considered for adenoidectomy.
    Objective: To evaluate the potential role of Individualised Homeopathic medicine in managing allergic rhinitis and troublesome symptoms of upper respiratory tract in case of Enlarged adenoid.
    Method: An 8-year-old boy came with complaints of Allergic rhinitis, snoring, and recurrent upper respiratory tract infection. He had taken treatment for the same from modern medicine, but still, a recurrence of symptoms occurred. His radiological investigations showed grade II Adenoid Hypertrophy. The patient was advised surgical intervention, but their parents were unwilling to the same so the patient came for Homoeopathic Management. Individualized Homeopathic Medicine Calcarea carbonicum 200 C was prescribed to the patient. The patient's condition significantly improved during the course of his five years of treatment; his snoring has decreased, his allergic manifestations have diminished, and monthly check-ups have revealed that the patient's general and particular condition are improving. indicating the positive result of homeopathic medicine in the treatment of enlarged adenoid. Assessment of outcome is based on Radiological reports and modified Naranjo criteria.
    Result: Homoeopathic medicine Calcarea Carb 200 C is given to the patient based on the totality of symptoms. The incidence of allergic rhinitis has also declined following treatment. Furthermore, there has been a decrease in the grade of adenoid hypertrophy and a noticeable improvement in symptoms.
    Conclusion: This is a single case where evidence shows that complete patient recovery occurs with individualized Homoeopathic Medicine. this is single case study and more researches, observational studies and randomized control trials are required to ascertain homeopathy's efficacy in managing enlarged Adenoids.

    Abstract Biocompatible, eco-friendly, highly economical packaging methods should be needed as conventional packaging is known to cause undesirable effects. As food packaging is the major determining factor of food safety, the selection or methods of packaging materials plays a pioneering role. With this scope, modern food technology seeks unique sustainable approaches for the fabrication of package materials with notable desired properties. The principles, features, and fabrication methodology of modern food packaging are briefly covered in this review. We extensively revealed improved packaging (nanocoating, nanolaminates, and nano clay), active packaging (antimicrobial, oxygen scavenging, and UV barrier packaging), and intelligent/smart packaging (O2 indicator, CO2 indicator, Time Temperature Indicator, freshness indicator, and pH indicator). In particular, we described the role of nanomaterials in the fabrication of packaging material. Methods for the evaluation of mechanical, barrier properties, and anti-microbial assays have been featured. The present studies suggest the possible utilization of materials in the fabrication of food packaging for the production, utilization, and distribution of safe foods without affecting nutritional values.

    Abstract Genetic relatedness studies using 12 quantitative traits on 252 genotypes in horsegram revealed wide spectrum of variability for yield components. The genotypes were grouped into 25 clusters based on estimates of D² statistic. Cluster I had the largest number with 83 genotypes followed by cluster II (77 genotypes), cluster IV (33 genotypes) and cluster III (30 genotypes). On the contrary, 20 solitary clusters from cluster V to XXV were formed except cluster XIV (9 genotypes) which could be given priority for specific trait improvement. Cluster XXI recorded the highest mean value for single plant yield (65.51 g). The intra and inter cluster distance was varying in magnitude indicating the presence of larger genetic diversity among accessions. The highest intra cluster distance was noticed in cluster XIV (23.63) followed by cluster IV (22.37). Maximum inter cluster distance was observed between solitary clusters viz., cluster XXI & XVII followed by cluster XXI & XV and cluster XXI & VII. These clusters would offer superior segregants when employed in hybridization programme.

    Abstract Background: Cancer of Head and Neck (HNC) is the 2nd common cancer in India leading to around 8% of the global cancer mortality. Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) is advanced method minimizing exposure of radiation to adjacent normal structures but is associated with higher fatigue indirectly elevating distress levels. Medical Qigong (MQ), a meditative mind therapy has numerous health benefits. The purpose of the current study was to investigate effect of MQ therapy on distress, fatigue, and quality of life in HNC patients undergoing IMRT. Materials and Methods: This experimental study was conducted on 16 Hospitalized HNC subjects undergoing IMRT aged 18–65 years. All the subjects performed Qigong Walk Cycle for 5 weekdays for 4 weeks from initiation of IMRT. Scores of Brief Fatigue Inventory (BFI), 6 min walk distance (6MWD), Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Head and Neck (FACT-HN) were documented at the baseline and at end of 4th week and compared. Results: IBM SPSS Statistics version 23.0; Indian version of Windows was used for statistical analysis. The 16 HNC subjects majorly rural residents (62.5%) of mean age group 47.68 ± 10.25 years with tobacco chewing as prevalent habit (94%) with maximum cases recorded in stage III of the disease. The pre and post test score comparison of serum cortisol, BFI and 6MWD found high statistical significance with P = 0.001 while that of the total and all components of FACT HN was found to be significant with P ≤ 0.05. Conclusion: MQ therapy was effective in managing the levels of distress and fatigue thereby improving quality of life of all HNC subjects.

    Abstract Background: Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the widely rampant infectious diseases worldwide. Healthcare workers (HCWs) such as Medical students and nurses are continuously exposed to this air-borne infection in hospitals and are vulnerable to the infection. Overcrowding at workplace, inadequate ventilation, lack of personal protective measures, improper eating habits, etc., further make the HCWs more susceptible to TB.
    Objectives: Study of sociodemographic profile of resident doctors and nurses; study of factors for occurrence of TB among HCWs in a tertiary care hospital.
    Materials and methods: Case-control study conducted. Questionnaire used to collect data. Comparison was made between the TB cases and controls among HCWs to identify the epidemiological determinants of TB and derive preventive measures for the same.
    Results: By Chi-Square test, regularity of breakfast
    Conclusion: Having regular meals at appropriate times, nutritional status, duration of exposure to TB patients, history of screening being done or not were found to have a significant association with the occurrence of TB.
