Abstract Favorable oil and gas channels during fault activity and cease episodes were determined to understand oil and gas distribution in reservoirs of “lower generation, upper accumulation”-type near faults in petroliferous basins through identifying and coupling conduit systems and hydrocarbon expulsion distribution during these periods, respectively. It was used to establish a method to identify the evolution patterns of favorable oil–gas charging positions at source fault configurations, which was applied to understand the evolution of favorable oil and gas channels in the middle and lower Es-3 sub-member in the southwest of the Jiuzhou fault. The results show that the conduit pattern in the Es-3 sub-member is mainly distributed in the center, west, and east of the F1 fault and the eastern part of the F7 fault in the southwest of the Jiuzhou fault. The conduit to non-conduit pattern is mainly distributed in the middle and center of the F7 fault. The non-conduit to conduit pattern is mainly distributed in the west and east of the F1 fault and the east of the F7 fault. The non-conduit is mainly distributed in the middle and east of the F7 fault. The conduit pattern and conduit to non-conduit pattern in the middle and lower Es-3 sub-member are favorable for hydrocarbon migration and accumulation. It is consistent with the oil and gas discovered in the middle and lower Es-3 sub-member near the southwest of the Jiuzhou fault, indicating that this method is feasible to identify the favorable oil and gas channels at source fault configurations.

Abstract Camouflage detectors that can detect incoming radiation from any angle without being detected are extremely important in stealth, guided missile, and heat-seeking missile industries. In order to accomplish this, the absorption and emission processes must be manipulated simultaneously. However, Kirchhoff's fundamental law suggests that absorption and emission are always in the same direction

Abstract Sulfate-reducing bacteria play an important role in the geochemistry of iron (oxyhydr)oxide and arsenic (As) in natural environments; however, the associated reaction processes are yet to be fully understood. In this study, batch experiments coupled with geochemical, spectroscopic, microscopic, and thermodynamic analyses were conducted to investigate the dynamic coupling of ferrihydrite transformation and the associated As desorption/redistribution mediated by Desulfovibrio vulgaris (D. vulgaris). The results indicated that D. vulgaris could induce ferrihydrite transformation via S²⁻-driven and direct reduction processes. In the absence of SO₄²⁻, D. vulgaris directly reduced ferrihydrite, and As desorption and re-sorption occurred simultaneously during the partial transformation of ferrihydrite to magnetite. The increase in SO₄²⁻ loading promoted the S²⁻-driven reduction of ferrihydrite and accelerated the subsequent mineralogical transformation. In the low and medium SO₄²⁻ treatments, ferrihydrite was completely transformed to a mixture of magnetite and mackinawite, which increased the fraction of As in the residual phase and stabilized As. In the high SO₄²⁻ treatment, although the replacement of ferrihydrite by only mackinawite also increased the fraction of As in the residual phase, 22.1% of the total As was released into the solution due to the poor adsorption affinity of As to mackinawite and the conversion of As⁵⁺ to As³⁺. The mechanisms of ferrihydrite reduction, mineralogy transformation, and As mobilization and redistribution mediated by sulfate-reducing bacteria are closely related to the surrounding SO₄²⁻ loadings. These results advance our understanding of the biogeochemical behavior of Fe, S, and As, and are helpful for the risk assessment and remediation of As contamination.

Abstract The robot controller plays an important role in controlling the robot. The controller mainly aims to eliminate or suppress the influence of uncertain factors on the control robot. Furthermore, there are many types of controllers, and different types of controllers have different features. To explore the differences between controllers of the same category, this article studies some controllers from basic controllers and advanced controllers. This article conducts the benchmarking of the selected controller through pre-set tests. The test task is the most commonly used pick and place. Furthermore, to complete the robustness test, a task of external force interference is also set to observe whether the controller can control the robot arm to return to a normal state. Subsequently, the accuracy, control efficiency, jitter and robustness of the robot arm controlled by the controller are analyzed by comparing the Position and Effort data. Finally, some future works of the benchmarking and reasonable improvement methods are discussed.

Abstract The cancer-promoting function of the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) LPP-AS2 has been documented in different cancers. Nonetheless, its role in thyroid carcinoma (THCA) remains unestablished. Reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction and Western blotting were conducted to estimate the expressions of lncRNA LPP-AS2, miR-132-3p, and OLFM1. The THCA cells' functions were assessed through CCK8 assays, Transwell invasion assays, scratch wound-healing migration assays, and quantification of caspase-3 activity. The in vivo assays were also implemented to assess tumor growth. Luciferase reporter and RNA immuno-precipitation assay (RIPA) experiments were executed to elucidate the interactions of miR-132-3p with lncRNA LPP-AS2 and OLFM1. THCA tissues and cells exhibited poor lncRNA LPP-AS2 and OLFM1 expressions and a robust expression of miR-132-3p. Overexpressing lncRNA LPP-AS2 constrained THCA cell proliferation, migration, and invasion and improved caspase-3 activity. The anti-tumor function of lncRNA LPP-AS2 was also validated in vivo. miR-132-3p had an interplay with lncRNA LPP-AS2 and OLFM1. Functionally, overexpressing miR-132-3p promoted the malignant THCA cell phenotypes. However, that tumor promotion was abolished by the additional overexpression of lncRNA LPP-AS2. The in vitro experiments also demonstrated that the repressive effect of OLFM1 overexpression on THCA cell malignant action could be offset by the miR-132-3p mimic. lncRNA LPP-AS2 impedes THCA progression via the miR-132-3p/OLFM1 axis. Our findings contribute a potential strategy in interfering with THCA progression.

Abstract Background: Evidence on the association between multimorbidity and cognitive impairment in Chinese older population is limited. In addition, whether a healthy lifestyle can protect cognitive function in multimorbid older population remains unknown.
Methods: A total of 6116 participants aged ≥ 65 years from the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey were followed up repeatedly. The number of coexisting chronic diseases was used for assessing multimorbidity and cardiometabolic multimorbidity. Three lifestyle statuses (unhealthy, intermediate, and healthy) were defined based on a lifestyle score covering smoking, alcohol drinking, body mass index, outdoor activities, and dietary pattern. Cognitive impairment was defined as the Mini-Mental State Examination score < 24. A modified Poisson regression model with robust error variance was used to assess the associations between multimorbidity, healthy lifestyle, and cognitive impairment.
Results: During a median follow-up period of 5.8 years, 1621 incident cases of cognitive impairment were identified. The relative risk (RR) of cognitive impairment associated with heavy multimorbidity burden (≥ 3 conditions) was 1.39 (95% confidence interval: 1.22-1.59). This association declined with age, with RRs being 3.08 (1.78-5.31), 1.40 (1.04-1.87), and 1.19 (1.01-1.40) in subjects aged < 70 years, ≥ 70 and < 80 years, and ≥ 80 years, respectively (P for interaction = 0.001). Compared to unhealthy lifestyle, a healthy lifestyle was related to an approximately 40% reduced risk of cognitive impairment regardless of multimorbidity burden. Among the 5 lifestyle factors assessed, daily outdoor activities and a healthy dietary pattern showed convincing protective effects on cognitive function.
Conclusions: The relationship between multimorbidity and cognitive impairment is age-dependent but remains significant in the population aged 80 years or older. A healthy lifestyle may protect cognitive function regardless of the multimorbidity burden. These findings highlight the importance of targeting individuals with heavy multimorbidity burden and promoting a heathy lifestyle to prevent cognitive impairment in Chinese older population.

Abstract The behavior of As is closely related to trans(formation) of ferrihydrite, which often coprecipitates with extracellular polymeric substances (EPS), forming EPS-mineral aggregates in natural environments. While the effect of EPS on ferrihydrite properity, mineralogy reductive transformation, and associated As fate in sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB)-rich environments remains unclear. In this research, ferrihydrite-EPS aggregates were synthesized and batch experiments combined with spectroscopic, microscopic, and geochemical analyses were conducted to address these knowledge gaps. Results indicated that EPS blocked micropores in ferrihydrite, and altered mineral surface area and susceptibility. Although EPS enhanced Fe(III) reduction, it retarded ferrihydrite transformation to magnetite by inhibiting Fe atom exchange in systems with low SO

Abstract In the future coal gasification industry, quick and accurate prediction of the gas products can guide industrial production and make production more efficient. This paper carried out the SCWG experiment of Yimin lignite and discussed the effects of temperature, concentration and residence time on gasification. After that, the experimental data were divided into a training set, validation set, and test set according to a ratio of 70%, 15%, and 15%. Then, the regression was performed in the BP neural network, and the number of hidden layers, linear fitting model, and MIV were discussed. The results show that the single-layer neural network has a better fitting effect than the two-layer neural network. The R² of the ANN model for the products is 0.9921, the RMSE is 0.2952, the MeanRE is 0.0673, and the MaxRE is 0.1957, which is far better than the linear regression. In addition, the mean impact value of temperature, residence time, and concentration is 0.7493, 0.2188, and −0.1051, which shows temperature is the most critical variable.

Abstract Dietary polyphenol intake provides beneficial effects on human health, however, the high interindividual variability in response to polyphenol consumption may affect the final evaluation of clinical outcomes. After ingestion, polyphenols are extensively metabolized by the host and the gut microbiota. There is evidence that metabolism and absorption in the interindividual variability play a key role in health effects of polyphenols. However, current information is mainly the assessment of variations from statistical analysis. This review summarized the latest studies aimed at investigating interindividual variabilities in the health effects of polyphenols, highlighting the role of specific gut microbial strains as well as host gene polymorphisms. Personalized nutrition based on individualized metabolic patterns can help to capture the health benefits of dietary polyphenols.

Abstract D-Psicose, as a low-calorie rare sugar, has attracted a lot of attention in recent years for alternating to sucrose. The anti-obesity effect of D-psicose has been extensively confirmed in previous studies, however, the impact of D-psicose on colitis remains vague. Here, we firstly evaluated the effect of the D-psicose prophylactic intervention on dextran sulfate sodium-induced colitis in C57BL/6 mice. The pathological symptoms, inflammatory cytokines levels, gut microbiota composition, short chain fatty acids (SCFAs) production and colonic barrier integrity were comprehensively evaluated. The results confirmed that D-psicose intervention aggravated colitis, characterized by the exacerbation of colon shortening, increase of colonic inflammatory infiltration, and marked exaltation of disease activity indices and IL-6, IL-1β and TNF-α levels. Further, the dysfunction of gut microbiota was identified in the psicose group. The abundance of pro-inflammatory bacteria Lachnospiraceae_NK4A136_group was significantly up-regulated while the abundance of probiotics Akkermansia and Lactobacillus were significantly down-regulated in the psicose group compared to the model group. Moreover, the production of SCFAs was suppressed in the psicose group, accompanied by a decrease in the level of mucin 2 (Muc-2). Collectively, the underlying mechanism of the exacerbation of colitis by D-psicose intervention might be attributed to microbiota dysfunction accompanied by the reduction of SCFAs, which leads to the damage of the mucosal barrier and the intensification of inflammatory invasion.
