Abstract This book presents a newly designed dynamic fluidic sprinkler (DFS) to improve hydraulic performance of the existing complete fluidic sprinkler (CFS) under low-pressure conditions. Sprinkler irrigation has high prospects for improving water management in crop production. In recent years, low-pressure water-saving has become an important research content in the field of sprinkler irrigation. It introduces the effect of riser height on rotation uniformity and application rate of the dynamic fluidic sprinkler. It also discusses the intelligent sprinkler irrigation technologies for autonomous and remote sensing system. This book will be a useful reference for researchers and professionals in the field of agriculture and irrigation.

Abstract The dynamics of information transmission through the lexical system during written word production remain underspecified. Existing studies largely come from noun production, relatively less work has explored verb production. Verbs, representing actions or states, are considered more abstract and are found to be more challenging to be produced. The present study investigated phonological involvement and the principles governing information flow during Chinese written verb production. Participants wrote down single verbs and verb phrases while ignoring phonologically related, or unrelated distractor pictures. Results revealed phonological facilitation effects on writing latencies from phonologically related distractors in the verb phrase generation. Findings provide novel chronometric evidence that information transmission during written production involves cascaded activation allowing multiple phonological codes to be activated prior to written output. This phonological facilitation effect signifies the influence of phonology, especially lexical phonology, has been underestimated in writing.

Abstract Americans have increasingly turned to online crowdfunding to pay for healthcare costs, but our understanding of the inequalities in medical crowdfunding remains limited. This study investigates racial disparities in medical crowdfunding outcomes and examines the role of communication in amplifying, altering, or even reducing the disparities. Using data from 1,127 medical crowdfunding campaigns on GoFundMe, the study found that beneficiaries of color received significantly fewer donations than their White counterparts. The differences in donations between racial groups were partly attributable to sharing disparities. Campaigns for beneficiaries of color were shared less via e-mail or social media than campaigns for White beneficiaries. Campaign narratives with more humanizing details about beneficiaries were associated with more donations. However, humanizing details did not predict more shares, nor were they linked to smaller disparities in campaign outcomes between racial groups. Post-hoc analyses showed that more humanizing details were linked to fewer campaign donations for male beneficiaries of color. The findings contribute to the scholarship addressing the intersections of communication and health inequality on digital platforms.

Abstract Fresh apricots have high nutritional value and demand. Determination of the appropriate maturity is vital for fruit storage. The effects of harvest maturity on chilling injury and storage quality were investigated in this study. Xinjiang Saimaiti apricots were used as the material; the fruit was picked at three different maturity classes, maturity class I (colored area < 50%), maturity class II (colored area 50–80%), and maturity class III (colored area > 80%) according to yellow conversion rate, and stored at 0°C and 90–95% RH. Chilling injury incidence, chilling index, and the physiological indicators were evaluated. The results showed that the incidence, index of chilling injury, and firmness in apricots of maturity class I were highest than other two groups, but maturity class I apricots did not ripe. Although the incidence and index of chilling injury in maturity class III were relatively low, fruit firmness decreased rapidly. The incidence and index of chilling injury of apricots in maturity class II were lower than those of fruits at maturity class I, whereas fruit firmness, soluble solid content, ascorbic acid level, and extractable juice quantity relatively were well-maintained. Therefore, maturity class II was considered the appropriate maturity stage at harvest for storage.

Abstract This paper empirically analyzes import demand for nuts in Korea using Almost Ideal Demand System (AIDS). Six budget shares and prices demand equations for nuts group: almond, pistachio, walnut, cashew, hazelnut and macadamia are analyzed during the period 2009 to 2019. Empirical results show that all uncompensated own-price elasticities are negative, walnut and pistachio are own-price elastic while almond, cashew, hazelnut and macadamia are own-price inelastic. Uncompensated cross-price elasticities indicate that nuts have both complementary and substitutable relationships. Expenditure elasticities reveal that all import nuts are expenditure inelastic and they can be considered as necessary goods in Korea. Our research can help related to policy decision for the demand of Korea import nuts.

Abstract Transforming resource-based cities into sustainable economic development is a great challenge for policy-makers in many countries. However, the economic-centered evaluation system tends to breed the undesirable view of "GDP only" or "brown growth" in the previous case studies which is inconsistent with the long-run and sustainable development of resource-based cities. To fill in this research gap, this paper takes Jilin province in northeast China as a case study to explore urban development problems faced by major resource-based cities during resource depletion. This research constructs a stratified indicator system and conducts an in-depth analysis of the features and spatial effects of urban decline. For this analysis, this paper jointly uses the methods of entropy-weighted TOPSIS, analytic hierarchical process (AHP), and spatial effect model based on a database from 2000 to 2019. The findings of this study show that the current transformation of resource-based cities in Jilin province is generally ineffective and difficult to maintain long-run and sustainable development due to its historical reasons and industrial development background. According to the results, the resource-based cities in Jilin province show an unstable development because of factors such as barriers to the physical renewal of resources, rigid industrial structure, insufficient backup resources, and institutional and policy constraints. Also, the transformation of these cities into sustainable economic development is still facing demographic, social, and ecological difficulties.

Abstract This paper proposes a prediction model of piano collective class teaching and learning effect based on DL network in order to realise the precise prediction and evaluation of piano collective class instructional effect and promote the improvement of piano collective class instructional quality. The idea of an instructional assessment index is quantified in this paper using specific data as its input and educational impact as its output. In parallel, several training networks are established to correspond to the first-level evaluation indexes, and the input samples are normalised. Finally, MATLAB performs the empirical research. According to the findings, this method's prediction accuracy can reach 94.41 percent, which is about 10.22 percent higher than that of conventional methods. This prediction model is somewhat realistic and feasible. When used to predict and assess instructional quality, this method not only eliminates the subjectivity of experts in the evaluation process but also yields satisfactory evaluation outcomes and has a broad range of applications. According to the model's predictions and evaluation findings in this paper, appropriate teachers can better understand the drawbacks of the collective class model, focus on some important aspects of teaching activities, and then enhance instructional methods and effects.

Abstract Speech recognition and semantic understanding of spoken language are critical components in determining the dialogue system's performance in SDS. In the study of SDS, the improvement of SLU performance is critical. By influencing the factors before and after the input text sequence information, RNN predicts the next text information. The RNN language model's probability score is introduced, and the recognition's intermediate result is rescored. A method of combining cache RNN models to optimize the decoding process and improve the accuracy of word sequence probability calculation of language model on test data is proposed to address the problem of mismatch between test data and training data in recognition. The results of the experiments show that the method proposed in this paper can effectively improve the recognition system's performance on the test set. It has the potential to achieve a higher SLU score. It is useful for future research on spoken dialogue and SLU issues.
