Abstract Self-supervised molecular representation learning has demonstrated great promise in bridging machine learning and chemical science to accelerate the development of new drugs. Due to the limited reaction data, existing methods are mostly pretrained by augmenting the intrinsic topology of molecules without effectively incorporating chemical reaction prior information, which makes them difficult to generalize to chemical reaction-related tasks. To address this issue, we propose ReaKE, a reaction knowledge embedding framework, which formulates chemical reactions as a knowledge graph. Specifically, we constructed a chemical synthesis knowledge graph with reactants and products as nodes and reaction rules as the edges. Based on the knowledge graph, we further proposed novel contrastive learning at both molecule and reaction levels to capture the reaction-related functional group information within and between molecules. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of ReaKE compared with state-of-the-art methods on several downstream tasks, including reaction classification, product prediction, and yield prediction.

Abstract PurposeTo explore whether the digital economy has spatial effects and spatial heterogeneity on public psychological resilience during the diffusive crisis and to analyze the specific impact mechanisms.MethodsThis study is based on the Baidu Search Index from 2011 to 2020 and the provincial panel data of 30 provinces in China. It constructs measures of public psychological resilience and digital economy development level and employs the spatial Durbin model to empirically analyze the relationship between the two, revealing their spatial impact.Results(1) Public psychological resilience exhibits a spatial distribution characterized by high values in the west, medium values in the central region, and low values in the east, while the digital economy development level shows a “U”-shaped spatial structure with high levels in the eastern and western regions and low levels in the middle; (2) The digital economy development level in a local region has a negative effect on the public psychological resilience of that region, while the digital economy development level in surrounding regions has a positive spatial spillover effect on the local region’s public psychological resilience.ConclusionIt is essential to strengthen crisis management, focus on the coordinated development of the digital economy in different regions, share the benefits of digital society development more equitably and broadly, and further improve the psychological resilience of regions under the context of digital economy development.

Abstract The electroencephalogram (EEG) has recently emerged as a pivotal tool in brain imaging analysis, playing a crucial role in accurately interpreting brain functions and states. To address the problem that the presence of ocular artifacts in the EEG signals of patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) severely affects the accuracy of sleep staging recognition, we propose a method that integrates a support vector machine (SVM) with genetic algorithm (GA)-optimized variational mode decomposition (VMD) and second-order blind identification (SOBI) for the removal of ocular artifacts from single-channel EEG signals. The SVM is utilized to identify artifact-contaminated segments within preprocessed single-channel EEG signals. Subsequently, these signals are decomposed into variational modal components across different frequency bands using the GA-optimized VMD algorithm. These components undergo further decomposition via the SOBI algorithm, followed by the computation of their approximate entropy. An approximate entropy threshold is set to identify and remove components laden with ocular artifacts. Finally, the signal is reconstructed using the inverse SOBI and VMD algorithms. To validate the efficacy of our proposed method, we conducted experiments utilizing both simulated data and real OSAS sleep EEG data. The experimental results demonstrate that our algorithm not only effectively mitigates the presence of ocular artifacts but also minimizes EEG signal distortion, thereby enhancing the precision of sleep staging recognition based on the EEG signals of OSAS patients.

Abstract Sleep deprivation and insulin resistance (IR) are two risk factors for Alzheimer's disease. As the population of people with IR increases and sleep restriction (SR) due to staying up late becomes the "new normal", it is necessary to investigate the effects and molecular pathogenesis of chronic SR on cognitive function in insulin resistance. In this study, 4-week-old mice were fed a high-fat diet (HFD) for 8 weeks to establish IR model, and then the mice were subjected to SR for 21 days, and related indicators were assessed, including cognitive capacity, apoptosis, oxidative stress, glial cell activation, inflammation, blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeability and adiponectin levels, for exploring the potential regulatory mechanisms. Compared with control group, IR mice showed impaired cognitive capacity, meanwhile, SR not only promoted Bax/Bcl2-induced hippocampal neuronal cell apoptosis and Nrf2/HO1- induced oxidative stress, but also increased microglia activation and inflammatory factor levels and BBB permeability, thus aggravating the cognitive impairment in IR mice. Consequently, changing bad living habits and ensuring sufficient sleep are important intervention strategies to moderate the aggravation of IR-induced cognitive impairment.

Abstract pH adjustment was considered a simple step in the hydrometallurgy process, but its complicated operation was ignored in the past. In some industrial applications, the leachate pH was slowly adjusted by a diluted alkaline solution, with the defects of doubling the leachate volume and causing droplet hydrolysis/coagulation. Up to date, promising routes have been developed for rapid pH adjustment, especially in sealed high-temperature/pressure vessels. New routes emerged in some redox/decomposition reactions of nitrate/urea and organics. Such reactions did not start and/or were slow at room temperature but started spontaneously at high temperatures to generate/consume free H

Abstract Slotting-blasting is the most critical technology in the construction of rock tunnels using the drilling and blasting method. At present, there is no effective method to simulate the effect of slotting-blasting. In this paper, we proposed that the weight coefficient of tension damage or compression damage is calculated by the proportion relation of current principal stresses, and the damage properties of rock were denoted by the tension-compression weighted damage variable. The blasting damage constitutive model of rock was established by coupling the tension-compression weighted damage variable and the classical PLASTIC_KINEMATIC model. The proposed method was used to simulate tunnel slotting-blasting and investigate the rock damage evolution law in slotting-blasting construction. The numerical simulation of the explosive blasting test shows that the proposed method may effectively simulate the slot cavity formation process, the blasting damage law and the dynamic response characteristics of surrounding rock in slotting-blasting construction. The findings in this paper could be significant for the slotting-blasting design of rock tunnels.

Abstract Named data networking (NDN) is a promising alternative data dissemination technology of TCP/IP communication networks, which can bring out much more cost-effective and resilient communication in a highly mobile environment. However, due to the feature of NDN, content poisoning comes out as a potential threat. Hence, state-of-the-art studies introduce network layer approaches based on name-key binding, in which the producer notifies routers of the bindings of names and key values. Key values include publisher public key digest or content digest. Routers check key values to determine whether incoming data packets have been poisoned. Unfortunately, the approaches lead to more vulnerabilities in dynamic content poisoning because attackers can impersonate the producer to alter or fabricate the bindings. Thus, we introduce a consumer-oriented two-phased lightweight security scheme, which consists of an end-to-end authentication and a packet-level name-key query mechanism. Specifically, the name-key bindings are authenticated via an additional verification by the consumer. Furthermore, we also introduce a novel trust model to help routers to determine and disconnect from the malicious nodes. Finally, our extensive experimental results demonstrate that the scheme can work effectively in improving the vulnerability of existing studies on dynamic content poisoning and lowering the system overhead simultaneously.
