Abstract Opsoclonus-myoclonus-ataxia syndrome (OMAS) is a rare immune-mediated movement disorder occurring as a paraneoplastic manifestation of neuroblastic tumours (NTs), especially neuroblastoma in infancy. Ganglioneuroma (GN), the benign tumour in the spectrum, is rarely associated with OMAS. We report the case of a child in her second year of life presenting with acute onset of progressive paraplegia and OMAS. MRI showed diffuse and infiltrating left paraspinal mass from T3-T9 levels with differentials of neuroblastoma or ganglioneuroblastoma. Histopathological and immunohistochemistry examination of the excised tumour showed maturing GN. The OMAS was managed with intravenous immunoglobulin and steroids. In the 6-month follow-up, the child has a residual motor weakness with myelomalacia in neuroimaging. The case report substantiates the occurrence of OMAS as paraneoplastic manifestation in NTs, including benign, in children younger than 2 years with a female predilection.

Abstract Mental health disorders are treated with all the available advanced health techniques. The pioneers of Indian philosophy, sages, saints, and yogis, through their experiences and rational explanations, expressed the importance of yoga, and their treatment effects. Yoga-Nidra (YN), one of a particular forms of yoga, is described as a simple and precise way of dealing with mental disorders. The use of YN as an intervention has been reported to reduce anxiety, anger, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other different kinds of psycho-physiological abnormalities. In addition to the role of Yoga-Nidra as an intervention tool, it also brings relaxation to the mind and brain, mental catharsis, a positive attitude, self-improvement, and personality refinement. At the same time, YN contributes to boost concentration, memory, and other cognitive capacities, including attention, and thoughts. Because of its important therapeutic contribution to psychological well-being and mental health, it is currently used as a therapy and medical intervention. Yoga-Nidra and other yogic practices will play an important role in treating mental, physical, and psychological problems and improving cognitive abilities, and will help to connect with oneself.

Abstract Laparoscopic and open surgeries are two distinct surgical approaches with significantly different procedures and outcomes. Minimally invasive surgery, also known as laparoscopic surgery, utilizes small incisions and specialized instruments like the laparoscope to perform procedures. This contrasts with open surgery, which requires larger incisions to directly access the surgical site. Open surgery was the preferred approach for any invasive procedure until the introduction of new technological advances in the form of laparoscopy. While laparoscopy is still evolving, preliminary results demonstrate promise for various operations. Open surgery provides the healthcare professional with more liberty in the form of increased visualization, but it also increases tissue damage and hospital stays. Laparoscopic and open procedures are both valuable surgical methods with advantages and disadvantages. While open surgery is favored for difficult patients, laparoscopic surgery offers a quicker recovery and fewer scars. The choice between the two approaches depends on the patient's condition, surgical demands, and the surgeon's skills. As these methods develop, they become increasingly important for offering safe and efficient surgical treatments across a range of medical specialties.

Abstract The rational design of precisely controlled hierarchical chiral nanostructures from synthetic polymers garnered inspiration from sophisticated biological materials. Since chiral peptide motifs induce helix formation in macromolecules, herein we report the synthesis of a novel type of hybrid polymer consisting of a β-sheet forming a LVF [L = leucine, V = valine, and F = phenylalanine] tripeptide pendant polymethacrylate block and a poly[poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate] (

Abstract The influence of anisotropic diffusive coefficients on the stability of the horizontal fluid planar layer, rotating about vertical axis, and permeated by a horizontal homogeneous magnetic field is studied. The linear stability analysis is performed using the separable solutions in the form of horizontal rolls. The onset of overstable motions is examined [1] as well as of stationary ones. The weakly nonlinear behaviour of the convective motions in the vicinity of primary instability threshold is studied. The efficiency to transport heat is compared between overstable and stationary modes. References: [1] T. Šoltis, J. Abstract Cellular automata are discrete and computational models thatcan be shown as general models of complexity. They are used in varied applications to derive the generalized behavior of the presented model. In this paper we have took one such application. We have made an effort to perform edge detection on an image using genetic algorithm. The purpose and the intention here is to analyze the capability and performance of the suggested genetic algorithm. Genetic algorithms are used to depict or obtain a general solution of given problem. Using this feature of GA we have tried to evolve the cellular automata and shown that how with time it converges to the desired results.

Abstract Pancreaticojejunostomy, a critical step in pancreatic surgery, has significantly evolved surgical approaches, including open, laparoscopic, and robotic techniques. This comprehensive review explores open surgery's historical success, advantages, and disadvantages, emphasizing surgeons' accrued experience and familiarity with this approach. However, heightened morbidity and prolonged recovery associated with open pancreaticojejunostomy underscore the need for a nuanced evaluation of alternatives. The advent of robotic-assisted surgery introduces a paradigm shift in pancreatic procedures. Enhanced dexterity, facilitated by wristed instruments, allows intricate suturing and precise tissue manipulation crucial in pancreatic surgery. Three-dimensional visualization augments surgeon perception, improving spatial orientation and anastomotic alignment. Moreover, the potential for a reduced learning curve may enhance accessibility, especially for surgeons transitioning from open techniques. Emerging technologies, including advanced imaging modalities and artificial intelligence, present promising avenues for refining both open and minimally invasive approaches. The ongoing pursuit of optimal outcomes mandates a judicious consideration of surgical techniques, incorporating technological advancements to navigate challenges and enhance patient care in pancreaticojejunostomy.

Abstract Extramammary Paget disease is a rare dermatological condition resembling Paget disease that occurs most commonly in the anogenital area and axilla. We present the case of an elderly male who had come with complaints of an itchy, erythematous and raised lesion in the perianal region for 3 months that did not respond to antifungals. A biopsy was taken from the lesion site and the diagnosis was confirmed by histopathological examination. It is important to be aware of conditions like extramammary Paget disease when an elderly individual presents with a non-specific pruritic lesion in the perianal area that is non-responsive to treatment; the diagnosis of which can be made only by doing a biopsy from the concerned site. This highlights the importance of histopathological examination in such ambiguous cases.

Abstract We implement an eccentric search for compact binary mergers based on particle swarm optimization. The orbital eccentricity is an invaluable input for understanding the formation scenarios of the binary mergers and can play a pivotal role in finding their electromagnetic counterparts. Current modelled searches rely on pre-computed template banks that are computationally expensive and resistant towards expanding the search parameter space dimensionality. On the other hand, particle swarm optimization offers a straightforward algorithm that dynamically selects template points while exploring an arbitrary dimensional parameter space. Through extensive evaluation using simulated signals from spin-aligned eccentric binary mergers, we discovered that the search exhibits a remarkable autonomy in capturing the effects of both eccentricity and spin. We describe our search pipeline and revisit some of the merger candidates from the gravitational wave transient catalogs.
