Abstract This study explores the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) teaching assistants in sports tennis instruction to enhance the intelligent teaching system. Firstly, the applicability of AI technology to tennis teaching in schools is investigated. The intelligent teaching system comprises an expert system, an image acquisition system, and an intelligent language system. Secondly, employing compressed sensing theory, a framework for learning the large-scale fuzzy cognitive map (FCM) from time series data, termed compressed sensing-FCM (CS-FCM), is devised to address challenges associated with automatic learning methods in the designed AI teaching assistant system. Finally, a high-order FCM-based time series prediction framework is proposed. According to experimental simulations, CS-FCM demonstrates robust convergence and stability, achieving a stable point with a reconstruction error below 0.001 after 15 iterations for FCM with various data lengths and a density of 20%. The proposed intelligent system based on high-order complex networks significantly improves upon the limitations of the current FCM model. The advantages of its teaching assistant system can be effectively leveraged for tennis instruction in sports.

Abstract Drawing on fieldwork in southwest China, I examine how structural marginalization shapes therapeutic choices and healing experiences of chronic illness. I explore why Chinese rural migrant workers avoid chronic care in biomedicine to grapple with their chronic kidney disease. I show that migrant workers, who live precarious labor lives, experience chronic kidney disease as both a chronic, disabling experience and an acute crisis. I call for broader awareness of structural disability and argue that chronic disease care necessitates not only treating the disease but also the provision of equitable social security.

Abstract Proteins are the functional molecules for almost all cellular and biological processes. They are also the targets of most drugs. Proteins employ complex, multilevel regulations, so their abundance levels do not well correlated with their mRNA expression levels. The structure, activity, and functional roles of proteins are affected by posttranslational modifications (PTM), which are even less correlated with mRNA expression levels than protein abundances. Comprehensive characterization of the proteomics data is critical for understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms of biological systems and developing news therapeutics. Current large-scale proteomic profiling technologies, such as mass spectrometry, provide relative identification of peptides and proteins, with data vulnerable to outliers, batch effects, and nonrandom missingness. In order to perform high-quality proteomic data analysis, we will first introduce a data preprocessing and quality control pipeline that includes normalization, outlier detection and removal, batch effect identification and handling, and missing data imputation. Then, we will describe several statistical methods that leverage well-processed proteomic data to generate scientific discoveries, especially with an integration with genomics and transcriptomics. These methods cover topics like association analysis, network construction, clustering, and cell-type deconvolution. To demonstrate these methods, we will use the proteogenomic data from the lung squamous cell carcinoma study of the Clinical Proteomic Tumor Analysis Consortium and provide sample codes for data access and analyses.

Abstract We consider the semiparametric accelerated failure time (AFT) model with multiple covariates measured with error. Existing methods for the AFT model are either inconsistent, computationally intensive, or require stringent assumptions. To overcome these limitations, we develop a correction approach for a general smooth function of error-contaminated variables. We apply this method to the smoothed rank-based score function for the AFT model. The estimator is consistent and asymptotically normal. The finite-sample performance of the method is assessed by simulation studies. The approach is illustrated by application to data from an HIV clinical trial.

Abstract Objective: To analyze the association of soluble programmed death-1 ligand-1 (sPD-L1) levels with clinicopathological characteristics, therapy efficacy, and survival outcomes in lung cancer patients.
Patients and methods: The study included two hundred treatment-naive patients with small cell lung cancer (SCLC) (n=12), and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) (n=188). Plasma samples from 96 healthy individuals and 13 patients with benign tumors served as controls. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to evaluate sPD-L1 expression. Blood samples of 67 NSCLC patients before and after therapy were collected.
Results: sPD-L1 expression was significantly higher in lung cancer patients compared to the control groups (p=0.002). Moreover, patients with lower performance status had significantly higher sPD-L1 levels (p=0.005). NSCLC patients at later stages of the disease had greater sPD-L1 levels than those at the early stages (p<0.001). The presence of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation was not significantly different with higher sPD-L1 expression (p=0.334). Although sPD-L1 levels and progression-free survival (PFS) were linked with excellent response to therapy and advancing disease (p=0.307), no correlation was seen between sPD-L1 decrease and progression free survival (PFS).
Conclusions: Elevated sPD-L1 expression in NSCLC patients was associated with more advanced disease and worse overall health of the patients, suggesting a possible association with a negative clinical response and prognosis. sPD-L1 expression may be influenced by the mutation in EGFR.

Abstract With the spread of COVID-19 around the globe over the past year, the usage of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms and image processing methods to analyze the X-ray images of patients' chest with COVID-19 has become essential. The COVID-19 virus recognition in the lung area of a patient is one of the basic and essential needs of clicical centers and hospitals. Most research in this field has been devoted to papers on the basis of deep learning methods utilizing CNNs (Convolutional Neural Network), which mainly deal with the screening of sick and healthy people. In this study, a new structure of a 19-layer CNN has been recommended for accurately recognition of the COVID-19 from the X-ray pictures of chest. The offered CNN is developed to serve as a precise diagnosis system for a three class (viral pneumonia, Normal, COVID) and a four classclassification (Lung opacity, Normal, COVID-19, and pneumonia). A comparison is conducted among the outcomes of the offered procedure and some popular pretrained networks, including Inception, Alexnet, ResNet50, Squeezenet, and VGG19 and based on Specificity, Accuracy, Precision, Sensitivity, Confusion Matrix, and F1-score. The experimental results of the offered CNN method specify its dominance over the existing published procedures. This method can be a useful tool for clinicians in deciding properly about COVID-19.

Abstract Single-shot fringe projection profilometry (FPP) is widely used in the field of dynamic optical 3D reconstruction because of its high accuracy and efficiency. However, the traditional single-shot FPP methods are not satisfactory in reconstructing complex scenes with noise and discontinuous objects. Therefore, this paper proposes a Deformable Convolution-Based HINet with Attention Connection (DCAHINet), which is a dual-stage hybrid network with a deformation extraction stage and depth mapping stage. Specifically, the deformable convolution module and attention gate are introduced into DCAHINet respectively to enhance the ability of feature extraction and fusion. In addition, to solve the long-standing problem of the insufficient generalization ability of deep learning-based single-shot FPP methods on different hardware devices, DCAHINet outputs phase difference, which can be converted into 3D shapes by simple multiplication operations, rather than directly outputting 3D shapes. To the best of the author's knowledge, DCAHINet is the first network that can be applied to different hardware devices. Experiments on virtual and real datasets show that the proposed method is superior to other deep learning or traditional methods and can be used in practical application scenarios.
